Today I played some Samsho 2, so I drew Cham Cham!
The game was very fun but I never want to fight Mizuki ever again...

Heyo! I'm back with a request this time if you're still doing them. I was hoping for some Terry Bogard x reader fluff where his SO doesn't really do birthdays because they've never had a good one, so he takes it upon himself to make it special. Or if you're not feeling that then just headcanons and whatnot for stuff like date nights or celebrations. Idk I'm not picky lol.
I'm very excited to try the new game even though I'm so–so at fighters. It looks so dang good!

TERRYYY yes you absolutely can thank you for indulging me with Terry, even if it’s just for you and me broski. Also same, I’m ass at fighting games but I’m here for fun and vibes.

When Terry learned you never really had a good birthday to the point of never wanting to celebrate it, he was stunned and beside himself, he couldn’t imagine how hard those days must’ve been on you to feel such a way, but he’s determined to give you a good day! He calls his brother, knowing you and Andy are good friends and asks for help.
“Just keep ‘em distracted for me, please? I need to grab a few things and decorate the house.”
Even through the phone Andy can already hear the pleading smile in his older brother’s voice. The younger man sighs knowing he’s going to agree.
‘Of course I’ll help, but I better get a slice of cake after this.’
Terry cheers, grin wide, “Thank you, I’ll be sure you get a big peice. They should be getting off work here shortly.”
‘And you weren’t decorating when they were at work!?’
“I was getting everything and making sure the cake was right, sue me! Anyway, thanks for the help!”
Terry hangs up the phone and tosses it aside quickly to get back to work, pumping balloons with helium and tying them together, hanging some to the walls letting some float to the ceiling and moving them around to be neatly around the big ‘happy birthday’ sign he got. He made sure everything was in your favorite colors and colors to compliment them, though he did have to ask Mary which ones would be best.
This day was already not a very happy one to you, so he decided why not just have it at home where you felt most comfortable? Maybe just the two of you? Let you warm up to it first and maybe next year he can rent out an arcade for you and all your friends! Terry chuckles to himself as he sets out all the presents on the table in the living room. Here he is, almost a full year into being with you and he’s already making plans for your next birthday.
He made sure to get so many gifts, even setting out a few from Rock who sent some over, he’s a little sad his son couldn’t join you two frm his trip, but he knows you’re going to be thrilled to see them! Even if the gift wrap is a bit of a mess, listen he kept losing the tape.
Once Terry was happy with it the placement of everything he went to the food.
The large man sets the cake out, carefully placing the candles around the pretty frosting not wanting to ruin it, once pleased he goes for the chips, dumping a few bags into seperate bowls and setting though on the small white table he got just for this.
Chips, dip, sodas, pizzas of several combinations, from homemade bbq wings from yours truly, fruits cut into stars and hearts on skewers, honey butter rolls, chicken sliders, salads, and so much more far too much for the both of you, but he knows how he eats and the left overs will be amazing!
He rushes around, blonde hair slipping from his hair ties as he does, setting out more gifts from Mai, Joe, Blue Mary, Ken, and Ryu, staring at all the gifts he can’t help but smile knowing you’re so loved and cared for by not only him but also his own friends.
To know others think of you like this makes him so happy. Terry turns on the tv setting up his dvd player to it and setting out all your favorite movies and shows, even snagging a few you’ve been wanting to watch so you can pick. His eyes widen as he can hear voices just beyond the door, rushing to his phone he sees several missed messages frm Andy, warning him how close they were to his house.
Fixing his hair and making any last minute touches he can before you open the door. You thank Andy for spending time with you and wishing you a happy birthday, holding the gift he brought you with one hand, you fish out the keys Terry gave you. You figured he must’ve had something planned when he asked you to come over after work.
Opening the door your jaw drops at the sight as you walking through the fringe hanging over the door frame, but wall to ceiling to wall is covered in balloons, streamers, and a gaint happy birthday sign, the living room table filled with so many gifts they even surround the table itself, another table filled with delicious smelling food, and most of all Terry standing right in the middle of the room arms out as he cheers.
“Happy birthday, babe! I hope wasn’t too hard on ya today.” His grin is almost infectious.
You look around the room more, taking in that it seems he even decorated the kitchen, not a signle spot of his house remains untouched.
“You…you did all this, for me?”
Terry laughs, his arms coming around you in a warm hug.
“Of course, this day is celebrating you! Everyone also sent you gifts too, since I wanted to do this with just me and you, if that’s okay? I can always call up everyone and invite them over. Also if the food isn’t to your liking or if we are missing something I can always order more take out!”
You’re staring at his smiling face in shock, he did all of this, your comfort in mind first, but all of this just for you?
“Hey, what’s with that face?” His voice soft as he presses his forehead against yours, gently rocking you two back and forth.
You bring your arms up wrapping them around his neck and holding him close, letting you two bask in each other’s presence for a tender moment. He’s so warm, his scent so comforting but mixed with the smell of the food he’s been preparing likely all day for you, the thought makes you want to cry he’s been working so hard on all of this.
All for you.
You try not to cry but your eyes get a little misty feeling so overwhelmed for his love for you. Terry moves first, kissing your forehead with a soft smile.
“Why don’t you go get out of your work clothes and once you’re done, you can pick what we watch and eat, you’ve had a long day.”
You nod with a sniffle, but your smile makes his heart melt as you walk off to his room to change.
Hands on his hips, he’s determined to make your birthday one to remember. Cuddling on the couch watching a movie you’ve wanted to see for a while now, surrounded by the constant reminders you’re loved.
Opening the gifts your friends got you no matter how far away they are, just to show you how much they care and listen to you.
Oh yes, Terry would call this a birthday success.

I feel like we really lost something when we started looking at writing as a reader-centric product meant to appeal to the desires of a specific audience rather than a writer-centric approach of someone writes whatever particular thing particular compels them/whatever weird thing the demons in their head want to talk about, and people out there who are also compelled, and/or relate, find that writing. A lot of discussions of writing really center around what readers want rather than a writer's exploration. Sometimes as a reader I don't know what I want. I click on a fic or pick up a book I'm not sure about but that looks interesting, and I love it. Reading what I expect to get is it's own joy, but we always need to expand our horizons and not get mad at creators for not always writing what we want/expect.
