For all I've kept telling myself and others this is a crazy busy semester ... this was a CRAZY busy semester
#roommate wedding#trip to ohio trip to the mountains#that whole teaching seminar plus two other big time commitment teaching-related projects#two friend visits (lovely of course but you know. stuff)#actual teaching work at just horrible times. awful on-campus schedule requirements#AND writing and editing 70 pages of the hardest writing i've ever done I think#(hard to measure because like. this is perhaps more within my current capacity than past projects were within my past capacity#who's to say)#oh yeah and weekly graded feedback on student assignments#oh and! leading Bible study at the beginning!#not to mention like. running 4 colloquium events. dentist problems. other roommate's wedding#Easter#and about 5 other one-off events that took a ton of energy#*deep breath* GO TO BED#i realize i'm constantly repeating myself and relearning this#but like. it's valid to be tired! it's ok for me to be tired right now! that's fine!!#and! it won't always feel like this. i will get back energy for loving on people again

#i know you have all missed productivity reports from ME! and that's because everything i have to do now is incremental#dissertation work stages are on a scale of weeks to months#and frankly i'm bored of telling people irl how it's going because how it's going is always ''got more notes done! read more books!''#so anyway i have 6 more pages of notes to organize (wrapping up a total of 81)#and a teaching observation reflection to write#i think now i'm entering a phase of mostly just diss writing i'm going to make a rule i can have saturdays off#if i work every day the rest of the week#gotta get back into my sewing projects! hiking! resting! too much of it darling too much#brunch is enough on a sunday that i don't have energy for another big hurdle then

Here is a collection of characters I met when I was small, all of whom have stayed with me every day since. They are housed, stitched and squished in this felt book, akin to their arrangement in my brain.

Public speaking is actually really easy if you don't respect a single soul in that room. I've had an incredibly easy time delivering speeches when I hated everybody I saw and they all thought I did amazing because my disdain was read as confidence. I don't have any tips for you I'm just telling you a fact
