I think Yang and sun are BESTIES

Like they hung out because they were just both around Blake at the same time and then they started hanging out purposely all three of them and then separated because they like things Blake doesnt sometimes

And sun gets to be added to the small list of their friends who will actually go out to parties so they definitely hang out all the time with that

They probably talk about Blake all the time but they also seem to have the same interests and I just LOVVEEE them

They’re also both like whatever the remnant version of Chinese is because if you’ve ever looked up the reason why yangs name is Yang xiao long and not Xiao Long Yang its cause China isn’t real so they get to be buddies with that

I think they’d hang out and go get food together and play video games

I think that Yang has a totally different view of Blake then most people because Blake is just so open with Yang that we’ve seen when they hang out (bottlecap comic) Blake is just talking @ Yang and Yang just listens and with other people Blake is like closed off and mysterious so when they talk about her together they talk about way different things

OOOOOOO I love this au it’s a really fun concept

I’m gonna combine it with some thoughts I had about it because I got super excited (some stray from your idea so that I can fit it into my thoughts about the education in remnant)

Ok SO I think that because of the way in the first few volumes they talk about signal and getting into beacon and schooling in general my personal opinion is that there’s different schooling for children who are being educated to later become huntresses and huntsmen even pre beacon and those academy’s and I think it’s starts pretty young because it would make sense in the Rwby world to have the general public taught completely differently then huntsmen

Because in a world where everything revolves around grim and we constantly see the consequences of people trying to live without huntsmen there’s definitely a LOT of propaganda about how great they are even BLAKE thinks they’re supposed to be perfect virtuous soldiers

And atlas try’s to combine it’s huntresses with its military so their schools pre academy schooling would probably be crazy

ALSO

Imagine if in this kinda thing the friends he pulled strings with was ironwood

Who is a family friend and also seems to despite some animosity towards Qrows ways of doing things seems to really adore their family (it’s a family of only ozpins future or current soldiers a man he follows like a god and later attempts to kill like one)

Imagine if he agreed to technically take Yang in and he puts her through the school cause he seems like the kinda guy who believes you can manipulate a child into whatever perfect thing you want with enough hard work and discipline

And Yang actually would make an amazing soldier if it weren’t for her actual views and mindset and just brain in general because her skills and abilities line up perfectly with what they’d want in someone for the military

However ironwood is THE general and is super busy and also would never actually raise a child and it is a boarding school so that too

But maybe she’d get more connections in there and maybe he’d have her do jobs and stuff for the military especially with her skills in machinery and stuff

She definitely comes out of this hating routine and military more then ever despite excelling

She probably still visits Ruby as much as possible and texts her constantly making sure she’s ok and they’re probably still very close especially with how much Ruby probably resents her dad

Based on my sister who also got sent to a boarding school early that I couldn’t go to I bet theyd FaceTime all the time and Yang would still kinda be responsible for her like remembering to eat encouraging to do homework taking time off school to visit for occasions of Ruby’s

Yang would probably still be very popular in whatever school she’s in (she’s personable and pretty canonically even if it’s a lot a front she puts up) so there’s also a possibility she’d with her even better grades and performance might get near Pyrrhas kinda fame not near necessarily maybe just a much smaller version of that where she’s just well known up and coming huntress and stuff

If you go the ironwood training perfect loyal soldier for ozpin(this doesn’t work) route it’d be funny if she just casually knew government secrets because of it

Also would be cool if she had met winter at all because of it and her perspective on Weiss slightly more informed due to having met her older sister

And yeah EVER attachment issue she was stripped from EVERYTHING she ever had every loved one because they KICKED HER OUT and she BARELY has Ruby

(It’d be interesting if she got to be there for penny’s creation then she could gain a second younger sister possibly be in charge of teaching her how to act and fight and adapting to the world before Yang goes to beacon that’d be cool)

But yeah I find this all SO fun and interesting sorry I went off the rails with my own interpretation but that’s how I show love 💖💖💖

i will keep that in mind. Tbh, I've actually started writing right after I asked if I could. I just kept taking breaks because horrible attention, and I was stuck in Blake's part until last night. Now I'm kinda stuck on the Blacksmith's part. I have no idea how to write them... Though I have started writing their part, it is somewhat slow going, because of unfamiliarness with the character and irl stuff like tests.

On an unrelated note. Can we talk about the fucking symbolism?? Parallels??? Between Yang's death in this au and Ruby's in canon??

Because in Ruby's eyes. Yang, who did nothing wrong, who did not indanger their team, was the reason for a *kingdom* falling, didn't cause Penny's *death*. Had chosen to ascend and come back as someone else.

Whereas *Ruby*, who *did* do all of those things, at least in Ruby's eyes, chose to *not* ascend and came back as herself!!

Can you tell I love these fictional sisters?

She has none of the reasons ruby decided to go to the tree and yet she’s the one who ended up gone

For the blacksmith thing I say make them as unsettling as possible go bananas do something crazy

Yang is so interesting in the sense of her motivation is more people based like she didn’t come out post v3 to save the world she left to go help Ruby and that just happened to be what they were doing and Yang goes 100% because that’s just how she is like of course she’s helping people what else would she be doing kinda thing

When she thought she was dead at the beginning she didn’t seem particularly upset about it she just was there was nothing else to do anymore she’s done she fulfilled her little life’s purpose of protecting Ruby and saving people along the way and she’s done now time to look for all the people who she knows who died or something

She was DEEPLY upset when the rest of her team was dead for obvious reasons especially because stopping Ruby from dying was WHY SHE DIED but whatever moving on

I think Yang sees living as a never ending list of things to do and people to love so she’s always doing something and caring about someone like her whole life she was taking care of Ruby then in beacon she was helping Blake and along the way she was working to be a huntress which came easy to her and it was all good then she was looking for Ruby and then she was defeating Salem (which she may or may not have ever thought was possible but I doubt she cares)

Then she dies and she’s just

Done

She was in a good place to not want to die but I don’t know how much the thought bothered her cause of how risky she’s always known being a huntress is

But when she went to the ever after there was something to do and it was ascend

So of course

She did that

I think maybe Ruby has always hated how Yang reacts to her own danger

Because Ruby and Yang love each other so much but they actively exist in each others worst issues in a way that’s almost fine cause it’s them

Ruby abandoned Yang after she lost her arm but Yang was never mad at her she never even saw it like that she should’ve been able to follow her (plus Ruby’s thought her semblance was running away for the longest time)

Yang sacrifices herself all the time especially for Ruby and Ruby’s biggest thing is being abandoned unintentionally (as a parallel to Yang intentional abandonment problem) like through death however it’s their dynamic it’s what they do Yang will always do this because she’s her older sister

I love their parallels

Because I love to suffer I imagine Summer would have been more protective of Yang than Ruby if she didn't die ,what's more I think she'd notice Yang and Blake falling in love long before they themselves noticed it.

Instead of projecting Raven on Yang , as Tai did , she would project Tai on her and be completely mama bear over Yang's romantic relationships because of it .

She would 100% be the kind of mom " I don't care who you love but right now you need to love books" and advise Yang to gard her heart telling her what kind of problems dating your partner could bring all of that to Yang's confusion because "Mom, you're embarrassing me and I have no idea what you're talking about? " but she would also be a safe place for Yang to turn to with her heart problems and cry her ordeals when Blake left the team.

But we'll never have that , so suffer with me I guess ?

Cause it’s summer treating her differently cause of what happened but it’s so much of an act of love and I love that

I loveee imperfections in their little loving family when the family gets to be imperfect (summers alive) instead of flat out disfunctional

And I love her being protective of Yang cause that’s 1 SO cute 2 makes sense cause there was so much going on when she was so so young with raven abandoning them and all, and so with all that stress and trauma going around when Yang was just a baby probably made her be a little bit more protective over her

I love the “right now you need to love books” cause if you’ve noticed I personally believe Yang has perfect grades

Summer: you need to focus on your studies and she’s a bad influence

Yang: my studie- I have some of the best grades in the school??

Also Yang ADORES summer she thinks she’s perfect so this is just that much sweeter and that much more painful

And in like an alternate universe where she didn’t die even if she and tai still weren’t around much, if they were still doing active huntress/huntsmen work and so the sisters childhoods weren’t too different just a lot better with a lot happier campers of caretakers

They could’ve been so close

No sorry that’s not my interpretation if anything it was an act of love she’s keeping raven safe by doing it

Raven left she has no idea Yang didn’t tell them she didn’t have to not tell them no one was making her do that so it can’t be an ego thing

Technically their deal was only for the relic because she would be hunted by Salem if she had it

But she’d possibly and probably be hunted anyway by someone if people knew she was the maiden

It was just a furthering of their deal where because the point of it was raven to be safe so she didn’t share that information because then she wouldn’t be

I think Yang still cares about her and i also think that it’s in character to stick by her deals not just to the letter of the word but even just the intention

She would’ve seen it as an unnecessary cruelty to tell people

Given how generally terrible atlas was in almost every regard I question somewhat how much Weiss is gonna miss it lol

Mmmmmm yeah it was pretty terrible… but she only really realized that like a year or two ago.. that’s her home and it’s completely gone

like I live somewhere that’s not great politically or has done things I’m at all proud of

But I’d miss the trees and the rocks

she’s NOT lying about raven as a betrayal to her group no one there really cares about raven!!! Except obviously qrow but not for maiden reasons so whatever

She’s lying as PART OF HER DEAL WITH RAVEN!!! The deal was that raven didn’t want the danger that came with having the relic or with being the maiden so Yang convinced her that she could have that target on her back instead this is a pivotal moment for them cause it shows raven would rather let Yang be in danger then her and Yang accepting this and using it

She traded safety for the relic

And she stuck to that deal

And Yang lying about about the maiden thing (really just not actively bringing it up she only really lied the one time) shows that she still cares about raven and is in character because her problem isn’t lying in general it’s the betrayal of it

Like she’s not going around leading them on failed pretenses that someone else is the maiden or anything

Ozpin had been leading them to do something that he was told by like the GOD OF WISDOM was not possible and NEVER TOLD THEM

Their friend DIED for this cause

SUMMER died for this cause

That SOOO messed up

I’m gonna stand on a Rwby opinion hill so steep in the lack of support I’ve seen on it I’m probably going to impale myself just standing on it HOWEVER as I have the hubris of Daedalus thinking my creations are among the gods in their brilliance I guess I’m going to share it I’m sorry

I don’t think bumbleby should get married within the show of Rwby unless there’s like a timeskip at the end or something I THINK THEY DESERVE TO BE DATING for a significantly long time I don’t think that they should be girlfriends for less time then they were friends

I truly want them to live a happy life as girlfriends for a really long time, there’s a thing about certain characters in media that are experiencing a war or conflict or apocalypse where the characters in love get married early into their relationship because they genuinely think they won’t have the time later or they won’t be around to do it and I DONT WANT THAT FOR THEM

Anyway yeah that’s my little opinion piece if you want them to get married tell my why!! Maybe my mind will change
