New single, video premiere & FREE TEQUILA.
First things first, we released our second single "Buzzing Fever" today. Please lend an ear and share. Download it for free here.
http://buzzingfever.viinyl.com

Then, our Video for "Hum" is premiering on "Kraakvars" on Mk tonight at 20:00.
Lua Union has come across a tequila sponsorship, and we'd like to share it with you.
So here's what we have in mind, to win a bottle of Olmeca Black Tequila, we want you to do the following:
*Go like our Facebook Fan Page here.
http://www.facebook.com/LuaUnion
*Share this Tumblr post (http://luaunion.tumblr.com/post/23165721449/new-single-video-premiere-free-tequila), saying, "I want The Lua Union to give me tequila" (Remember to tag the band name with @ so that we can see your post).
Followed by "Tequila makes me happy because...". After "because", you can put in whatever theory you have as to why tequila makes you happy.
Please select the tequila pic just below as your thumbnail in the post.
The band will scrutinise each post, and decide on a winner, based on whichever one is coolest really. Likes also matter.
Simple yeah? I'm looking forward to what you come up with.

I can hear them coming
Hi friends!
So the past month has been quite quite good to us.
We had a fantastic video launch at Aan De Braak Theatre, for the "Hum" music video, which can be seen below:
When this video reaches 1000 views, we will release our next free single. Help us out and share this link (http://youtu.be/Eo1dT-RZOhE) as far and wide as you can. We can't wait to release more music.
We also had a very fun show indeed at Aandklas with Machineri and The Violent Free Peace. Here is a photo that our friend Pierre Rommelaere took:
To see the rest of the photos check out the facebook album here.
Our next show is on 5 May at Brass Bell, Kalk Bay with our old friends The Lottery Tickets. Feel free to swing by and have a great party.

Last night at the Waiting Room.
So the sound was not very good last night.
In these situations there is usually a sound guy to blame. In our case, it was due to the fact that we did not have a sound guy. We attempted to do our own sound.
We will not do that again.
A brighter note
On a brighter note, it was really great to see so many pleasant people there. We did not expect the place to get as full as it did. Many thanks to everyone that pulled through.
Also, a big thank you to Andre Leo for helping us out with equipment, Johannine for playing an amazing opening set (seriously, I can't wait for these guys to release something, those must be some of the best songs ever written around these parts), and our good friend Justus Swart for sitting at the door the whole night. And of course, thanks to the Waiting Room for hosting us. Next time we will bring a proper engineer, we promise.
This is happening
Our next gig is at Hidden Cellar, Stellenbosch on 31 March. We're playing with a band from Jo'burg called Shortstraw, and Cape Town's Beach Party. Excited to gig with those guys again, after the rad show they played last month with Pretty Blue Guns and Stepdog.
There is also talk of a gig in April with Machineri and Violent Free Peace. We're still waiting for a date on that one. We really hope it happens though.
We are very much looking forward to playing some rocking shows again.
Video
This weekend we are filming the video for “Hum”, with Roundabout Films and a crew of roughly 22 talented people. Should be good...

video vibes and such. an update, really.
So today we had a meeting with the cast and crew for the music video we are shooting on 2-3 March.
I haven't seen anything else like what we are planning to do. Think Rocky Horror Picture Show meets Nosferatu meets, I don't know, a movie where people eat wool and rats and play card games that make no sense. Let's hope it works.
I'm sure it will. We have a pretty great team.
Also, we are stoked about how the song is doing on the interweb. We are thinking about releasing another one after our gig at Waiting Room.
So I played a gig at aandklas with The Pretty Blue Guns on Tuesday evening. If you missed it, well, that's your loss I guess. Aandklas has really stepped up in terms of their sound and lights and so on. They can actually be taken seriously as a legit gigging venue now. Anyway you should really come to one of the upcoming Guns gigs. It may be your last chance. (for quite a while at least) but don't you worry, Andre and myself are brewing something new that just might blow your mind a little. In a nice way though. We're considerate like that. Here's the facebook event for the Brass Bell show in Kalk Bay on Saturday.
Now is probably a good time to start organising more Lua Union gigs. Not quite sure where to start though. It really has been a while...
If you can think of anyone we should gig with or some cool venues to check out, send us an e-mail. Oh, and please follow us on twitter? We could really use some more followers. I think we only have like 40 now.
Oh, and if you haven't already, watch this video.
Pretty much sums up what Roundabout Films is capable of doing with one small camera, one continuous shot, and no lighting other than a street lamp. Pretty impressive.
Goodnight.

A rehearsal video for our show at Waiting Room on 28 Feb, with Johannine.
Our good friend Barry de Villiers from Roundabout Films filmed this and put it together for us.
It will be our first show in over a year. Also our first "stripped down" show ever.
Looking forward to seeing you there.

PS If you haven't downloaded our single yet, now is a great time. Click here please.

Michelle Viljoen took this photo sometime in the second half of 2011. The four of us had not been in the same place for close to a year so this photo shoot was a reunion of sorts. It also made us itch to get things moving again.
