Okay so we all know how racist and appropriating Star Wars is with the the creatprs and directors, and we know how vile and racist fans in the fandom are towards actors and black and brown human characters, but I really think we need to go over the fact of constantly dehumanizing cultures and poc by simply making them humans
For example whenever I go into the SWTOR or just Star wars tag in general and see peoples Alien OCs a lot of them look great and have super interesting back stories and such, but then I look at the face claims and pause
Almost everytime without fail, many of the FC are black and brown people and for any Human OCs they’re primarily white. Now I’m not going to call anyone out or point to any one person, but the fact that this is long standing trend of “But I DO have black and brown jedi/sith/etc. See!” And then show an alien OC is just exhausting. It sends out the message that POC can only exist or primarily exist so long as they aren’t human or as it is now, you only see cultures that aren’t western as Alien one way or another
And this isnt saying stop it immediately or if you do this you MUST hate poc and see them less than human. But ask yourself, how many human characters do I have that are actually black and/or brown and how many aliens do I have that take on features and identies that are NOT Eurocentric

Risha: For example, “Captain, stop doing that!” just applies to everything.

Let’s talk a little bit about the Sith Code today, and how it pertains to the true tragedy of the Sith. The Sith Code, for anyone unfamiliar, goes as follows:
Peace is a Lie, there is only Passion.
Through Passion I gain Strength,
Through Strength I gain Power,
Through Power I gain Victory,
Through Victory, my chains are Broken.
The Force shall free me.
There’s nothing there to imply pure evil, as the Sith are often considered to be. In fact, the Sith Code itself is a rather positive thing— personal freedom and freedom from oppression is a great thing to strive for, isn’t it?
In order to understand the real tragedy of it all, one must consider Sith history. And think of Sith as meaning two separate things— one, the culture and species and society of the natives of Korriban, and two, the religion of the Dark Side as begun by the Dark Jedi.
The Sith during the Old Republic are vastly different from those during the Prequels era. They’re not an elusive cult of two, they’re a culture, a people, a vast society of their own. Certainly they have their glaring problems in their society, but they are still a people nonetheless, and destroying the entire culture would be a terrible thing to do.
Except, the tragedy that many forget is that it has already, in a way, been destroyed. This is where we must separate the Sith Order from a Sith Culture, and the Sith as a species and people group from the Sith as a religion. The Sith people were conquered and enslaved by the exiled Dark Jedi— outsiders who named themselves Lords of the Sith and appropriated Sith culture as their own, while those it belonged to were oppressed beneath them. This was the beginning of the Sith Order and the Sith Empire as we know it, and all this happened in secret in the far reaches of the galaxy. Because the Dark Jedi began to call themselves the Lords of the Sith, the name became synonymous with the religion, rather than the Sith people. A religion and ruling power that exercised complete and brutal control over its subjects.
So, where does the code come in? As one can see (and as I myself experienced during my youth) the Sith Code can have a particular appeal to those who are oppressed. Here in particular, this applies to the Sith People, under the rule of the Dark Jedi/Lords of the Sith. Like many creeds of religious cults, the words appeal to members but hide insidious secrets— the simple fact that this code was created and espoused by the oppressors betrays that.
The Sith followed the code. They gained power. They gained freedom from their oppressors. They gained places as Lords of the Sith. And yet they still remained subservient. The first Dark Lord of the Sith, ruler of all the others, was Ajunta Pall. One of the Dark Jedi exiles. Despite gaining power, the oppressed Sith people would remain servants of their oppressors, and would not regain their autonomy. Their culture, their planet, had already been stolen from them and claimed by the invaders, which trapped them in that system.
And so, the Sith Code, which on its own holds a relatively positive message and promise, is in fact used by colonisers and oppressors as a tool to find those with the power to rise up, fall under their will, and grow their own power over those who cannot do the same. And the Sith, following a code that espouses freedom, are continually indoctrinated into a society and ruling body that thrives off of the oppression and control of others. The Sith as a People and Culture have become synonymous with their oppressors, have lost their autonomy and their distinction. When one says “Sith,” it is the religion and the empire that comes to mind, rather than the people.
And such is the cruel irony and tragedy of the Sith and their drive for domination, which grew out of anger towards oppressors, and freedom, and that anger grew unchecked, and was encouraged, and warped the desire for freedom into a desire for control, until controlling others was seen as the only way to be free. And the cycle continued, and spiralled out across the worlds that the Sith conquered.
The Sith Code provided hope to those who were enslaved by the Sith, and to those acolytes who had been brought into the Order willingly or unwillingly, while Sith training took advantage of their feelings of oppression and stoked them, even though the strict hierarchy remained, and true freedom was all but impossible to achieve.
The Sith Code is a message of freedom built on a society of oppression. A vicious cycle that continues on and on that so many join because they have no other choice.
And so, the tragedy continues.

Stupid SWTOR Headcanons
Malavai Quinn has idolized Grand Moff Kilran for ages. He aspired to be an officer under the Grand Moff until his career was sidelined by Moff Broysc.
Vette short-sheets Quinn’s bed on a regular basis and blames it on 2V.
Kira taught T7-01 how to short-sheet. They take turns short-sheeting Doc’s bed on the ship.
Bowdaar cooks for the smuggler crew.
Gus Tuno has “accidentally” found his way into the airlock more than once.
Everyone on the bounty hunter ship has also “accidentally” lured Skadge into the airlock. One day, some day, they will succeed. And there will be much rejoicing.
Kaliyo gets horrendously bored listening to Vector and Dr. Lokin when they talk.

IDK why people say the expansions make the most sense if you’re a Force user, because from where I’m standing my Smuggler started off with 0 ships and ended up with TWO ships. That’s character growth, plain and simple. That’s a quality arc.

…soooo I was just looking through old convos from KOTFE/KOTET and I don’t know if anyone else here has seen that British guy’s documentary on the Westboro Baptist Church? But I just realized who it is Valkoriate reminds me of. Fred Phelps.
Literally every question he was asked, he came back with another, or he tried to put on the “that is a foolish question, if you understood these things the way *I* do you’d know better than to ask that” routine. And you could tell it worked, at least with the people who were already conditioned to think of him as all-knowing as opposed to just some old guy who’s trying to deflect uncomfortable questions!
Which, let’s face it, any character who knew ANYTHING about Valkoriate going in probably would expect him to be super smart and subtle, because his reputation is that of the ultimate chessmaster. But I’m more and more convinced the guy is just the galaxy’s second greatest con artist.

"there is no such thing as ,jewish features, because Judaism is a multicultural and multiethnic religious group and has been so for over two millennia. there are no ,jewish features, because there can be Jews from any ethnicity" and "there are features (like thick curly hair or a big nose) that have been associated with judaism and are not ~typical european~ features, that are common within European jews. these features has been mocked, villainized, deemed unattractive and were linked to witchcraft and being demonic or evil, and are still used to dehumanize Jews and differentiate us" are two coexisting truths.

So Lord Zash.
I assume starting from the Dark Temple on Dromund Kaas, she knew the player was going to be her new body.
I just want to know what her holonet searches were like in the weeks and months leading up to the ritual.
Like I know most of it was regular research, but there HAVE to have been some funny search queries as she realized the practical problems with inhabiting another person’s body.
“What is the function of lekku?”
“Neck strain in Twi’leks”
“Proper binding of lekku in Nautolans”
“Chiss heat exhaustion”
“Cyborg implant maintenance”
“How do Zabrak sleep without ripping their sheets?”
“Fur care in Cathar”
Just, thinking about the moment when Zash realizes that ‘oh shit, i’m a human about to inhabit a body who may be a completely different species, and I have NO IDEA how to take care of it’, just makes me laugh.
