Stüssy
Stüssy is another influential classic brand that inspired many streetwear designers and brands over the course of decades. The Stüssy brand originated from the Southern California surf scene and skate culture. Shawn Stussy was a surfboard shaper at the time who was able to bring over his own personal style and individualism to the fashion scene which made his brand stand out. Stussy began his small graphic tee brand in the 80’s by having his signature logo screen printed on tees, crewnecks, and hoodies. Soon enough it ended up gaining immense popularity transferring into a wide range of streetwear the brand offers. The brand continues to thrive as Stussy is a driving force in the streetwear couture. As well by giving forward thinking designs while staying true to its California roots.
Here we have a fun pop of color to add for a streetwear look! A perfect casual fit yet stylish. This is from the latest Stüssy Spring '23 Collection.

A Bathing Ape (Bape)
Bape was founded by Nigo also known as Tomoaki Nagao in Japan in 1993 at the beginning of the streetwear movement. According to Nigo the company’s name is a reference to the Japanese idiom “A Bathing Ape in Lukewarm Water” used to portray overindulgent behavior which entirely captures the whole essence of the brand. Over the history of Bape it has remained a continuous trailblazer in the fashion industry. Bape’s strategy of hype and scarcity made their brand into one of the most desired streetwear brands who even got their name into the American hip-hop scene. As for designs Bape is known for their bold graphics, eccentric colors, stylized camouflage patterns, and a subdued touch of the Japanese kawaii culture.
Here we have one of the most popular collection pieces which is the Bape shark hoodie. The hoodie is light and breathable made from high quality cotton that features bright prints.

Off-White
Off-White is one of the main forces behind the fusion of streetwear and high fashion. Off-White is Milian based founded by Virgil Abloh in 2012. The logo he described as “the gray area between black and white as the color “off-white” to the fashion world. The logo has attracted an international fan-base with its signature black and white diagonal stripes printed on each of the brand’s pieces. Virgil’s integration of culture and couture has created a streetwear name known for innovative designs and forward thinking, ironic tags, distinctive prints, and high-profile collaborations. Such as Timberland, Levi, Nike, Converse, and Jordan. RIP Virgil Abloh
Here we have Off-White X Levi's 2016 fall/winter denim collection. This collaboration was a hit that showcased key pieces. Such as the image below of a frayed denim jacket featuring a bold yellow accent.

HUF
HUF is another brand that has been influential in the streetwear scene. Huf got started in the early 90’s and originally the nickname of Keith Hufnagel who was a loyal skateboarder in the streets of New York in the 80’s. He merged his passion for skateboarding and streetwear perfectly in a way that made his brand a hotspot for everything skateboards. It is known for its clean aesthetic, provocative designs, limited runs of products, and quality craftsmanship. They're a brand that has the spirit of skateboarding and street culture. Over the years, HUF has been committed to pushing the culture forward and not allowing it to conform to it.
Here we have one of HUF women's fall collection inspired by the '90s. Featuring earth-tones, patterns, and cozy materials. Capturing a great take on a relax comfy streetwear look!

The History of Streetwear in Pop Culture
Hey everyone, it's Adriana.
Welcome back to this week's topic on streetwear in pop culture. Let's talk about how the upbringing of streetwear in the 90’s and how it’s grown into different styles meshed together to normalized clothing worn in streets. We might have seen celebrities start making streetwear trendy in appearances on the red carpet, movies, and music videos. Let's take it back and share some of our favorite moments in pop culture.
New York hip-hop fashion
Aaliyah was a R&B singer from  Brooklyn, New York. She was well known for having a “tomboy” unisex look that made it acceptable to all in the 90s hip hop era of dance and music. She would be seen hanging around artists like TLC, Tupac, & others in what we would identify now as streetwear. Simply wearing casual everyday clothing but with a twist.
Here is a favorite look of Aaliyah in a bandana, oversized varsity jacket and sporty pants with a belt and a long bedazzled chain.
Tumblr media

Chicano streetwear
Mi Vida Loca (1993) is a drama indie film that portrayed young Hispanic women viewing their lives as gang members in Echo Park, Los Angeles. These women were everyday fighters in the streets of LA watching each other's backs.  In the film, you can view what streetstyle was meant for cholas. These women wore baggy or tight clothing, Nike Cortez shoes, high ankle socks, and big hoop earrings. This style became the norm within hispanic culture, since the film showed the culture of the beauty standards in chola women.

Punk streetwear
Freaky Friday (2003)
A fantasy-comedy film, a childhood favorite. One of my favorite outfits is Lindsay Lohan and her pairing of cargo pants (classic) with a slightly cropped graphic tank, and of course, a choker.

Tumblr media
Thirteen (2003)
A film about a thirteen-year-old girl's relationship with her mother is put to the test as she discovers drugs, sex, and petty crime in the company of her cool but troubled best friend. Because of the film's low budget, the girls' clothes are mostly from their own wardrobe. Catherine Hardwick noted that as filming progressed, the girls began to dress similarly without being told to. This film created the idea of young good girls heading toward the direction of rebellion. The punk rock look played a part of the early 2000's. We love to see it now with brands like IAMGIA, Motel Rocks, and Forever 21, bringing back the low rise jeans, suede lace-up vests and body jewelry.

European streetwear
Kate Moss, model, is the queen of being versatile in her outfit choices. She can go from grunge to girly, to urban street style. Moss has had some iconic looks over the years. This time paparazzi spotted her in a casual vest, a tie, and chino shorts, with a hobo bag, strolling in London.

Japanese streetwear
FRUiTS magazine (1997) was a monthly Japanese street fashion magazine created by photographer Shoichi Aoki. Though FRUiTS magazine it covered styles found throughout Tokyo. Aoki captured cool people rocking the Harajuku style and found them to be most fashionable with the expressiveness shown walking in look worthy clothing. We enjoy the double layered graphic crewneck sweater. The plaid midi skirt with a pin, with a large Moschino tote bag ready to take on the day.

Californian Surf
Baywatch (1989)
Pamela Anderson, she made wearing beach wear look so easy and effortless. Pamela turned beach wear swimsuit "cover up" the normal everyday wear. Typically, her look consisted of sexy and comfortable. Here she's seen wearing denim on denim. A cute button down oversized denim shirt tied to be cropped and cinched to the waist.  The iconic Levis 501 shorts with a cheeky slit near the pocket, and beaded shell jewelry. What a look!

School wear in LA
90210 (1990)
Brenda Walsh, Donna Martin, and Kelly Taylor were fashion icons in the TV series of a group of friends living in Beverly Hills, California as they all transition from high school to college and into the adult world. They always went shopping for clothes that they can afford and put together. During this time, fashion was very experimental while being classic especially as preppy as kids were in the hills. Most girls in the show, wore big t-shirts to school with overalls, blazers with skirts, long button down dresses. Big 90's hairstyles with fringe bangs and attempt to stay on trend.

Skateboarding Youth Culture
Young adults and teens in the 90s featured in magazines like Alloy. Outfits featured in skate magazines redefined the aesthetic in streetwear. They were made for comfort while riding a skateboard in the streets, while also staying on trend. We got muscle tanks, UFO (parachute pants) Tight fitted graphic t-shirts, and chunky sneakers. This style is still being represented and recreated by women to this day even if they don't skate, it's still gives off I am probably wearing my boyfriends clothing core.

Sportswear Princess
Princess Diana (left) became a muse in comfort casual clothing/ sporty chic style in the 90s. This photo is a side by side of two influential figures in pop culture making paparazzi catch photos of them wearing a similar outfit out in public and making it streetstyle. Hailey Bieber (right) making athleisure wear into the street. This kind of an outfit would be considered sporty, although you might just like the look of throwing on an oversized jumper, with some fun sneakers for a quick coffee run or errands.

 Performance wear
Jennifer Lopez (2000) also known as JLO performance is always iconic for wearing avant garde looks when out in public. She has a mix of various looks while performing. This look started a trend in what women aspire to look and dress like. As we see many YouTube or TikTok tutorials on "stealing her style" recreating her throwback looks. Here's an iconic one we could see being brought back. Bronx baby tee, waist chain belt, parachute pants.
Tumblr media
Source-https://www.vogue.com/article/jennifer-lopez-best-performance-costumes-concert-looks
Charli XCX (2016). Performing in Berlin, Germany. We see more of an urban mix of style being introduced by celebrities on stage. Performers have toned it down for on stage presence and more for comfort while still showing style. Charli is from the United Kingdom and her biggest fashion influences are sporty chic, and tumblr girls from 2014 of #seapunk, #pale goth, and #y2k aesthetic.

Urban Streetwear Trends Around the World
Hey there, it’s Allison! Welcome back to another look at urban streetwear trends.
This week we will be going over the urban streetwear trends from around the world, from London and Japan. We’ll take a peek at how other sides of the world dress to impress. Let’s get started!
Get the London Look- Modern Day Tailoring
Urban streetwear has continuously evolved over the years and today’s edgy urban wear looks can be constructed from business-casual attire, but reimagined. The innovation is in the modern details and tailoring.
Tumblr media
Source: Glamour Magazine and 16Arlington
Here we have an urban streetwear look from the 2023 London Fashion Week street-style archives. Featured in this ‘fit is an oversized blazer from 16Arlington, a London-based fashion brand. Oversized blazers can be combined with a more relaxed outfit and trainers, or you can switch it up with a statement ensemble that is toned down by the blazer.
Denim on Denim
Tumblr media
Source: Glamour Magazine
Here we have another eye-catching look from London Fashion Week 2023 with a form-fitting moto-jean jacket, paired with a cargo jean pant. A relaxed low-rise cargo will always pair well with a fitted cropped top or jacket.
Paper Bag Trousers
Tumblr media
Source: Vogue
Here we have a notable streetwear outfit from London Fashion Week of 2023. The paper bag denim pants are a statement on their own, taking a break from the usual straight/wide/skinny/flared options we adore. Combining the paper denim jeans with the abstract puffer jacket brings an unexpected balance and harmony to the ensemble. Both items puff in all the right places to stand out without clashing with one another. Pleated “paper” trousers can be a fun way to play up your urban street-style looks.
Statement Jackets
Tumblr media
Source: House of Sunny
In this photo we have a leather racer jacket from House of Sunny with attention-grabbing color blocking and a classic vintage look. The jacket could pair well with almost any outfit, it can make a dress look sportier or an edgy outfit edgier. A racer jacket can be a unique addition to any wardrobe.
Tumblr media
Source: Stella McCartney
This brightly colored utility bomber jacket is from none other than Stella McCartney’s Spring/Summer 2023 Ready-to-Wear collection. This statement piece can be equally handy and fashionable as it features multiple pockets and fairly symmetrical detailing, making the pockets well-proportioned and aesthetically pleasing to the eye. This kind of jacket could be worn with any outfit and can instantly give it an urban streetwear edge.
Tumblr media
Source: All Saints
This boxy jacket is from All Saints, another London-based streetwear fashion brand. The utilitarian pocket accents the boxy silhouette. Statement jackets with emphasized pockets are notably trending across various London fashion houses this year.
Embroidered-Sheet Frill Hems
Tumblr media
Source: Damson Madder
Completely on the other side of the utilitarian vibe, we have frills galore. This vintage inspired midi dress features embroidered frilled hems, with remembrance of grandma’s bedsheets. These eyelet beauties will make a fun addition to any outfit and can be counterbalanced with a sporty vest or layered outerwear and accessories.
Check-Me-Out Midi and Mini Skirts
Tumblr media
Source: Harpers Bazaar
Here we have another London Fashion Week street-style outfit, highlighting the checkered pattern skirts London is well known for. This outfit creates a modern chic look, merging an elegant blazer with a dynamic neon under-layer with hook closures, a classic kilt-inspired checked mini skirt, and knee-high white boots.
Tumblr media
Source: Jaded London
Another refreshing take on checked skirts is this low-rise cargo midi skirt with a side slit from Jaded London. This urban streetwear look can be made with fun footwear and a Y2K-inspired long sleeve and short sleeve layered top.
Tumblr media
Source: House of Sunny
Lastly for the London looks, we have this House of Sunny checked kilt-like mini skirt. This checked skirt can add a preppy or punk flare to an outfit, depending on how it’s styled. The safety pin enclosure gives off punk vibes and the patchwork of mismatched checked fabrics gives it a unique skirt design.
Trendspotting In Japan
Japan is widely known when it comes to streetwear, with their ranges of maximalism and minimalism, they can make any style their own.
Long Suit Jackets
Tumblr media
Source: Yohji Yamamoto
Here we have a layered-look button up blazer made by Yohji Yamamoto, a Japanese clothing brand. This item has raw edged loose trim hems on the cuffs and inner lining hem as well. The double-breasted jacket comes in a subtle and understated jacquard printed fabric, which is accented by the inner lining that peeks out and gives off an older vintage look, that is somehow still modernized. This style of outerwear would be an elegant choice for any streetwear outfit, and it’s made in Japan.
Tumblr media
Source: Sacai
Next is this long poplin suit jacket made by Sacai, a well-known Japanese fashion brand. This particular jacket also features a white inner lining that peeks out of the bottom and collar of the jacket. This jacket may seem elegant, and it is, but it can also be combined with your favorite pair of wide leg trousers or jeans, as well as shorts and statement sneakers.
Wide Leg Pants
Tumblr media
Source: Yohji Yamamoto
These wide leg pants are made by Yohji Yamamoto. This wide legged trouser can be worn with virtually any top and shoes, it is highly versatile and a bonus, it’s super comfortable. This Japanese pant is very stylish and effortlessly chic.
Tumblr media
Source: Kapital
Here’s another super wide leg cargo pant from Kapital, another Japanese streetwear brand to look out for. These pants can be fashionable and functional with deep-set wide pockets.
“Made in” Addition.
Here are some bonus trends spotted from other parts of Europe!
Made in Germany
Tumblr media
Source: Acronym
Acronym is a German clothing company, and this is one of their many futuristic streetwear designs made with technical functionality in mind.
Made in Italy
Tumblr media
Source: Diesel
Here is a denim motorcycle jacket made by Diesel, an Italian company. This particular garment is cropped and fitted, nicely balanced with a wide leg matching denim pant.
That wraps up this week’s look into urban streetwear from different parts of the world. Tune in again next week for a deeper look into the history of streetwear in pop culture.
Thank you for reading!

Upcoming drops in the Spring/Summer 23’ in the streetwear world
Hey, Adriana here back with more fashion news.
As we're entering the new year, we are starting to see what brands are creating this pattern for the new trends. We've been seeing lots of brands collaborating with pop culture trends as still making the brands stand out and stay relevant in the hype scene. This is intriguing to us, because, many consumers want realness and the reality of making practical choices of everyday wear, while still being able to go outside in style. Since the pandemic, there has been this concept of looking effortlessly good. This can be depend on your lifestyle, it can be simple to buy long lasting pieces of clothing for your wardrobe. Whether that means more comfort, being able to perform daily, perhaps less time to iron in the morning. Why not just it all together in seconds to minutes.
Keep an eye out on what's to come out this year.
Carhartt WIP SS23 "Trail" Is for All the Nature Lovers
For this collection, Carhartt WIP says "Essentials and necessities for great outdoor adventures." I couldn't agree more. The brand  continues to focus on its loose-fitting and technical silhouettes. Always leaning towards functional-leaning. Most of the collection takes on a neutral range of earthy color tones. The SS23 Carhartt WIP “Trail” collection is available soon only on their website.
This is what the campaign had to preview for now.

Wasted Paris Pays Tribute to Larry Clark’s ‘Kids’ for SS23
For Spring/Summer 2023, Wasted Paris continues to explore its skate culture and youth-focus influences. This is an anticipated collaboration. In 2015, Supreme left us with a collaboration with the film Kids, for its 20th anniversary. Now in 2023, Wasted Paris had to give this pop culture's movie tribute for its heavy influence on urban streetwear style back in the 90's. As we now know, it's always making its comeback around. This collection was heavily inspired by creating outerwear. We may have also been introduced in the form of a faded denim hoodie jacket — a design that was sparked by archive images of Brooklyn Banks.
The French brand was able to mesh in the New York youth skate style by creating baggy pants with updated signature details like a black leather label varsity jackets, and full-zip hoodies that give off an oversized look.

Variations of Urban Streetwear-
She can be sporty, she can be weirdo-lux-chic, she can be anyone she wants to be.
Written By Allison Ruiz
Hey there and welcome back! It’s Allison again. This week, we will be diving into the various moods and tones you can incorporate into your urban streetstyle looks. Urban streetwear has evolved astronomically over the years and the lines that define what it looks like have been blurrier than ever. To recap on what urban streetwear is, urban streetwear is a casual, contemporary fashion style influenced by various subcultures. Urban streetwear is known to be non-conforming and allows wearers to express themselves in a dynamic and authentic way. Urban streetwear takes elements of multiple styles and fuses the looks together. According to VOCAST writers Georgina and Olivia, “streetwear is all about the message you want to convey… [it] is the true voice of the fashion consumer”. As wonderful as this sounds, it’s lacking actual descriptions of what urban streetwear even looks like. Not to fear, I will be diving into an assortment of select urban streetwear genres we currently dig. Let’s get after it.
Utilitarian Urban Streetwear- Who is she?
First up is a utilitarian take on urban streetwear fashion. Workwear has become a staple in many urban streetwear wardrobes. From skateboarding culture to hip-hop culture, the origins of urban streetwear are heavily influenced by utilitarian apparel with a functional design, and the authenticity portrayed by the long-standing timeless brands that make it.

Here we have a Carhartt WIP ensemble that is functional, cool, and sleek. The simplicity of this outfit is what makes it effortless, and the combination with the understated loafers brings the outfit together in an unexpected manner. Blue collar attire has been known to make an excellent addition to your streetwear ‘fits, giving off elements of skater style blended with worker attire. These functional garments can emit a cool yet sophisticated look- if worn right. You can pair utility-style outfits with loafers or any kind of statement shoes, boots, and accessories to create a blue-collar chic look for almost any occasion.

Carhartt WIP is a good option for classic urban streetwear pants, outerwear, accessories, and more.

Utility vests are another utilitarian way to spice up an urban streetwear outfit. Here’s one we liked from Heron Preston’s Fall/Winter 2019 collection of luxury streetwear. The cropped straight-fit is good to pair with some loose cargo pants, loose jeans, or low waist bottoms.

Here’s another fashionable utility vest from Jaded London, with a twist. This utility vest is a jacket, and it adds a unique post-apocalyptic element to streetwear. This might be sold out already, but as a reference, you could totally throw a utility vest over a ribbed zip up and get a similar look.
Eccentric Urban Streetwear
Sometimes referred to as “Weird Girl Aesthetic”, this is a look that will turn heads and keep the people admiring. This look involves compiling different styles of clothing pieces together and making an outfit that doesn’t typically make sense- make sense. This style can be super fun and it can take some practice and experimenting because it can look great if done right and it can look a little crazy otherwise. Still, you should try it out.

Here's another rendition of this weird-girl urban chic look from none other than Miss Bella Hadid. The vibrant colors from her striped, cropped cardigan/bolero are an unexpected addition to an otherwise neutral toned outfit. The cargo pants and wife beater tank contrasted with the knit multicolor cardigan increases interest in the look. When in doubt, you can try this look out by combining a fun multicolor accent piece like a striped cardigan or scarf with a simple top and cargo pants or jeans.

This urban streetwear look from Copenhagen Fashion Week S/S 2023 is another weird girl aesthetic type of outfit that caught our attention. The ensemble features a fun combination of a gray quilted vest-dress, leg + arm warmers, running shoes, a pair of sunnies, and a striped wool scarf that ties the whole outfit together with a pop of colors.

These utility pants from Free People combine both the utilitarian style and the weird girl aesthetic, forming a unique streetwear look.
Motorcycle Jackets X Denim Skirts
Tumblr media
Pinterest
Here we see Renee Bellerive sporting a classic urban streetwear look, mixing a midi denim skirt with a statement belt, and a classic red moto-leather jacket. Denim midi/maxi skirts are currently trending and for good reason. These long skirts can be an alternative to regular jeans, and they can still work with any outfit that you’d normally wear jeans with. The red leather moto-jacket is a sporty chic addition to any outfit.

This look from New York Fashion Week AW23 also included a moto-jacket and some bleached wide legged denim jeans. A moto-jacket can be classic and memorable, they can also be a fun way to play up your adventurous side.

Here’s a three-toned motorcycle jacket from Urban Outfitters. As you can tell, this style of outerwear is versatile and very cute. It can be paired with a denim, pleated, or any style of skirt you might have in your closet. They can also work well with a variety of pants, making moto-jackets a good staple piece to add to your closet.

Here is one of many long denim skirts from Urban Outfitters. These long denim skirts are perfect for most climates and can be a nice option for casual urban streetwear looks that can be worn to any fun events, school, or Trader Joe’s.

Here we have Brittney Murphy and Ashton Kutcher in 2003 attending the Cadillac Super Bowl Grand Prix. Brittney Murphy is really rocking that fitted motorcycle jacket over a graphic tee, knee-high boots, and a denim skirt. The originals normally do it best, so when in doubt, you can also find inspiration through past generations urban styles. Rest in peace Brittney Murphy.
Well, that’s all for today! Stay tuned for next week when we will talk about upcoming streetwear brand collection drops for this season of Spring/Summer 2023.
Thank you for reading.

Streetwear brands in collaboration with high luxury designer brands.
Written by Adriana Gallardo
Hello, Adriana here!
As previously mentioned, most of our blog and about 'Lucky Fortune' is solely based on indie and urban brands known for an inclusive target market.
This week we’ll be going through some of our favorite fashion archives of collaborations with brands we’ve been fortunate enough to have inspired all of us.
In 2023, as social media consumers, we start to pay close attention and notice what the future holds for these fashion brands. It's by scrolling through our Social Media feeds and taking notes on what is trending. We start to notice high fashion brands collaborating with brands with streetwear brands. It's interesting, because these urban brands may have less exposure and sold at a low price point. We can understand what these collaborations may do for the consumer. It may convince them to invest themself into a limited edition item and be the first to have it. Let's talk about it.
Moncler Maya 70 by Palm Angels® FALL 2022
Tumblr media

Thought we've seen it all? When this collaboration dropped, it seemed to have light up the consumers world with new and behold features this down-filled jacket had to offer.
This collaboration became available to the public and website October 15, 2022 on moncler.com.
Francesco Ragazzi is the founder and designer of Italian streetwear brand Palm Angels. Ragazzi was working for Moncler in 2015, eventually becoming its creative director later in 2018.(BoF)
“We worked with an optic fiber that lightens up. For me, metaphorically, this meant to shed light on the future, literally putting the spotlight on it.” In order to illuminate Moncler’s future, Ragazzi worked with the brand’s technical expertise, as the technology used in the jacket. (HighSnobiety)

Gosha Rubchinskiy x FILA 2017
Here we have Kendall Jenner seen in Gosha Rubchinskiy x FILA graphic t-shirt in Paris fashion week.
Kendall is an example of someone that we define her style as 'urban streetwear'. She has the look of someone who didn't try hard to throw on a chic, but casual outfit and is ready to walk the streets confidently.

Moschino x Palace 2020
What is more to come from high fashion brands?

About Urban Streetwear and Tech-Inspired Looks We Love
Written by Allison Ruiz
Hi, I’m Allison and for this week’s blog post we will be covering women’s urban streetwear essentials and interchangeable outfit pieces. But first things first- What IS Urban Streetwear?! Streetwear -or urbanwear- is defined as a casual clothing style worn especially by members of various urban youth subcultures (Oxford Languages). Urban fashion is inspired by urban environment and city living.
Urban streetwear reflects individual personalities that are ever-changing and unique, gathering elements of different subcultures like hip hop, skateboarding, sports, and casual wear. With the growing popularity of streetwear trends, we figured we would weigh in with our own observations on what makes for a well-balanced and choice urban streetwear outfit.
This week I will be going over some of my favorite tech-inspired urban streetwear. Let’s get into it.
Cargo Skirts and Tech Pants
Tumblr media
Source: RUSSH
This look has been on the radar for a while now, giving more variety for choices in loose-fitting bottoms for many urban streetwear looks. Cargo skirts can be styled with sporty and casual clothing like t-shirts and sneakers or a variety of styled tops that can give a nice silhouette. This trendy item resurfaced after miss Bella Hadid styled it back in 2021, and it is barely hitting the markets in stores such as Urban Outfitter and Amazon.
instagram
Source: Instagram
Here’s another cargo skirt/parachute maxi skirt option from ASOS for my petite ladies as well.
Tumblr media
Source: ASOS
Tech Pants
Tech pants are technical pants that are made with a mixture of fabrics and made to provide moisture-wicking properties and easy of movement as well as all around comfort. They have a baggy/loose-fitting fit and look like cargo pants. Here’s one from Urban Outfitters.
Tumblr media
Source: Urban Outfitters
Here’s another cool tech pant made by Free People- are they tech pants or are they work scrubs? Are they for the lab or b-ball attire? We don’t care, we love them.
Tumblr media
Source: Free People
Okay, that’s nice, but where’s the variety?
When it comes to urban streetwear, the best thing you can do is vary the looks by playing with different shapes and silhouettes. You don’t always necessarily need to wear baggy bottoms, you can use straight leg pants or even a variety of shorts or skirts, even chino pants. Here’s a few other looks for inspiration.
Here we have an OOFTD streetstyle look from Milan Fashion Week of 2019. Although it’s not recent, it’s still relevant and noteworthy! Look at the contrast between the semi-casual sweater mixed with the jogger cargo pants and boots.
Tumblr media
Source: Fashion Week Daily
Another option is to mix it up with knits and contrasting outerwear to really complement an outfit. Here’s a noteworthy look from Copenhagen Fashion week in 2023. Notice how the knit set still has utility wear details such as the buttons on the hem of the sweater and the drawstring waistline of the knit skirt and on the sweater arm cuffs. This is a great example of urban streetwear with tech inspired elements.
Tumblr media
Source: Elle Fashion Week
Another amazing ensemble from the 2023 Copenhagen Fashion Week streetstyle looks is this fashionable denim on denim look with some unique jeans and a Carhartt messenger bag. Not quite a Britney and Justin moment- it’s got a fresh modern flare with the white denim vest and blue denim patchwork.
Tumblr media
Source: Elle Fashion Week
And lastly, you can always make a blast to past into earlier generation’s style archives, like we see here with athletic tracksuit pants, from the late 90’s to today.

Honorary Mention of Microsoft’s ACTUAL Tech Pants!
Microsoft came out with their own tech cargo pants and they have lots of extra pockets and a zip off legs option. They are also 100% cotton ripstop and very cool!
Tumblr media

I hope I convinced you to try out some new styles and inspired you to create more outfit combinations. Next time we will be looking at more versatile options for more urban streetwear looks.
Thank you for reading.
