Hi admin! Thank you so much for holding this tournament, it’s been so fun to participate in! I hope you’ll share this message with everyone: On behalf of the LockNation Discord planning server and the whole fandom, thank you to everyone who voted for Lockwood and Co in this tournament! As I’ve said before, LockNation came into this competition knowing it wouldn’t change Netflix’s mind about the cancellation. But we campaigned hard and did our best to win anyway, because it has done wonders for our campaign. LockNation grows stronger and larger by the day because of the passion everyone exhibits in this campaign. More and more people tune into this show daily, and that’s not because of any official promo. It’s because of us. Even months after cancellation, people still care about this show and they care about it deeply. The author of the book series and the show’s production company have been nothing but grateful and encouraging in response to our campaign efforts, so I would like to ask that everyone reading this sign our petition to save the show:
https://chng.it/Zy74YS5ZMT
We’ve seen shows get renewed after cancellation before. Warrior Nun just found out the news about a movie trilogy last night! So I, and the rest of LockNation remain hopeful. We hope you all will join us in the fight for a season 2!
thank you guys for being such great competitors, it was a joy to have you here!! I wish you all luck with getting the show renewed ❤️

Calling LockNation! Between now (Sunday June 25) and 11:59 Friday the 30th, we're asking you to flex your doodle-bilities and send in your contributions for our very own Thinking Cloth!
You can either DM your doodles to @lavenderghostco on Twitter OR send them to us as a submission on this blog!
Neither the twitter mod nor the tumblr mod are what anyone could charitably call "artistic", but we're gonna do our best with this, so don't worry about your skill level -- anything you send in will be better than us <3
Pencils, pens, and digital devices ready? Let's do it!

Hi Neil,
I hope you're having a wonderful weekend and that it's peaceful and you're spending it with people you love. I wanted to let you know that I'm a big fan of your works and a big fan of adaptations of your works.
That said, I was wondering if maybe...just maybe...you'd be willing to help out the adaptation of a fellow writer? You may (or may not! You've got a lot going on right now) have heard that Netflix's adaptation of Lockwood and Co. by Jonathan Stroud was cancelled even though it was brilliant, even though it has a large following, and was on Netflix #1 for an entire week and stayed in the Top 10 for three weeks. There's a petition going around to try and save the show and we're just shy (by shy, I mean 54!) of 20,000 signatures. So it would mean THE WORLD if you could share it around to your fans who are so so lucky to get to watch so many adaptations of so many of your works.
Here's the link if you feel like sharing it. And if not, I totally understand.
Thank you so much for everything! I really hope you're having a nice weekend and that next week brings some progress with the Writer's Strike!
Best,
Anna
Happy to share it.
Having experienced the nerve-wracking process of getting Sandman renewed at Netflix, when we were number 1 in the world for four weeks, but it still all depended on the percentage of people who finished watching the whole thing within that four week period, as people were watching it and not binging it, you have all my sympathies.

How do you think it is possible to save Lockwood and Co at this stage of cancellation? (I always pray for a miracle... Paramout + like gave me hope, but they took it away...)
Thanks for the question, Anon!
This week when I've heard "at this stage of cancellation", my knee-jerk response is the possibly uncharitable: "at just shy of a month?"
Netflix cancelled L&Co on May 12th, so Monday coming up will make a month. A month is, to be frank, a very quick time frame for a renewal. Excluding outliers like B99 (which may be the only show ever to have a next-day pickup), the one-month mark is generally when you see the fastest pickups start to happen (think Lucifer, a v quick pickup at a month).
That's the point that we're a weekend away from.
It feels like so much longer than that sometimes, mostly because Netflix waited nearly 5 months to cancel a show they never had any intention of renewing (for proof of this, see their cancelling of free publicity before the show even aired). It feels like we've been in the trenches for months, rather than just shy of a month.
Long answer short, we're approaching the point when shows have begun to be picked up, the one-month mark. One month is still quite quick, in all honestly, and many shows, including One Day At A Time (we hate to use ODAAT again as an example, but it's a great example) take months longer than that.
In other words, we think it's possible at this stage because it's been possible at this stage for the vast majority of cancelled-then-picked-up shows. We the mods are still as optimistic as we were in week 1, and at this stage we keep getting more crew interaction, more articles, and (most significantly) adding more viewers and fans every week.
LockNation is growing, not shrinking, and we intend to rise to meet it! As always, when you start to doubt, lean on us.
(As for Paramount+ twitter hiding replies/blocking a few people, it's honestly not a big deal. People running their live chat said they've gotten a lot of requests and have taken notice of our campaigning, and that's worth more than one poor beleaguered intern on twitter who might have liked something they weren't legally supposed to.)

Love this! So thoughtfully explained! This first month has been spent gathering the foundation of the campaign. Gathering our forces, all the super passionate fans that will put their hearts and souls into fighting for this show. It’s important not to burn out, pace ourselves individually, but to also remember we are really just at the start and we are doing such an incredible job so far!! 👻⚔️🖤
What’s a reasonable timeframe to push for either the renewal of Lockwood & Co, or for another streaming service to pick it up?
Obviously there are a multitude of factors to consider- key among them being the actors (age, commitment to other works ect). After a certain point, things would be forced into the territory of a remake instead of a continuation of the original series.
It’s only been a month (already?!?), and there’s been some great progress is getting the word out there (a massive thanks to all involved for their hard work!), but how long can it continue?
Thanks for the question Anon, and we appreciate the kind words <3. This answer's kinda going to be divided into two parts, namely 1) reasons not to worry about the timeframe for the actors' sakes, and 2) our opinion of the timeframe in constrast with other shows that have been picked up.
There are tons of factors to consider, this is true, but we're luckier than most because of our source material.
In the books we start out with Lockwood and George at ~16 and Lucy at 15 (as per Jonathan Stroud, who only deals with approximate ages), but they certainly don't go through the books at these ages. The first book takes place over a couple months, then there's a year time skip at the start of Book 2, and Book 3 picks up a few months after that (and a four-month time skip between Books 3 and 4). By the time of Book 3 (where S2 will pick up), they're around 2 years older than that, give or take a few months, so that makes Lockwood and George ~18, and Lucy a year younger.
To add to that, according to notes from the show specifically, Lucy, George, and Lockwood are approximately 16, 17, and 18, respectively. If they follow the time skip, which they really kind of have to, at least a bit, that puts them at 18, 19, and 20 come S2.
This works in our favor -- we were already going to have to have a bit of a time skip between S1 and S2, to allow Lockwood to heal and for the Trio to kinda come down from the whole Annabelle/Bickerstaff one-two punch. They may look a slight bit older, but they will have to look a slight bit older.
In order for the events of Book 3 (and 4 and 5, of course) to happen, Lockwood & Co (the agency) has to be more cemented, they have to be getting more cases, they have to be successful, not the incredible underdogs they are at present. Otherwise, the inciting incident of Book 3 that carries us through the first third of book 4 just doesn't happen.
So we have to have a time skip anyway.
It also helps that Jack, Hayley, and Ali (Kipps, Flo, and George) aren't going to look any older even with a gap of a few years, which I don't think will happen. Even Cameron (Lockwood), the youngest, won't change that much at 20; he already looks slightly older than his age, which suits Lockwood, and with the too-small suits and the too-big coat, which they'll resize if needed, he can be kept looking as emaciated and young-yet-world-weary that he is in S1.
As a final note on the cast's ages, L&Co has one of the most accomplished makeup crews I've seen in a long time. TV makeup is usually middling to bad, honestly speaking, but the crew at L&Co does a phenomenal job. It's not too hard to shave a year or two off of a person's face with the right subtle makeup, and they're more than capable of it.
The rest of the concerns around availability can be worked around, honestly. The first shoot only took so long because of Britain's COVID regulations, which won't be as strict this time around. I honestly don't think that availability is overmuch a concern -- and in any case, a fandom can't do anything about that, so it's best not to worry.
As far as a general timeframe goes? As much as we would love to be able to say X months X days is the Final Point so let's push until then, there really is no timeframe -- other than, in reverse of what a lot of of the fandom thinks (this being a lot of people's first ever Campaign to Save a Show, to be frank), that the month mark that we're hitting on Monday is when stuff actually starts.
Ignoring Brooklyn 99 (as ever the outlier), shows as almost a rule don't get picked up in the first month. Even Lucifer, a show that had built multiple seasons' worth of fans and was certainly one of the most active, passionate, nigh-crazy campaigns I've ever seen, took a month.
(As a note of encouragement, a show that both mods enjoyed, Selfie, which was cancelled in 2014 before it could even finish airing its season in the Death Slot, is now apparently in talks 9 years later for a movie to finish up the story, due to a huge swell in recent demand from China, who apparently loves the show and uses it to teach English. That's 9 years later, and we'd given up hope entirely. Good things can and do happen, whether a day or a decade after.)
In this humble mod's mind, the first month is always prep. Getting people organized, getting the word out, hoping for press, making sure that at the very least the cast, crew, and associated people of the show are aware of the fan response. That's been the job we've had in mind for the last almost-month.
Come Monday, we' move on to a slightly different stage. Not that we'll be doing anything drastically different -- continuous, repeated effort is king here -- but we'll be at the time when shows begin to be picked up.
It's what we mean when we say that this is a marathon, not a sprint. We've been stretching, buying water bottles, making punny t-shirts and cardboard signs, and setting out the race's trail. Sure, we hope that we won't have to run too far past the starting line before the whistle blows -- but whether we're picked up in a month or six or twelve or even longer, we're still gonna run it.
The show deserves our effort every bit as much as it deserves our love.
In the once again humble opinion of this mod, I would doubt it will take that long. We've had a phenomenal amount of press, engagement, etc etc etc -- as we say every time we post, we're continually impressed and grateful that we get to play a small part in this amazing effort. I, personally, am humbled by the talent and passion of LockNation every time I see a post on tumblr, or when the Twitter Mod shows me posts on twitter. You're an amazing group, and I'm honored to play my incredibly small role on this stage.
To try to answer your original question, it's the view of this mod that it will be measured in months, rather than weeks, for a pickup of the show, and that the starting gun doesn't really go off until the month mark on June 12th.
So maybe take the weekend, LockNation, and plan to do something this coming week that you haven't -- make a call, make a meme, make a difference. This weekend finishes off our month of prep, after all, and we gotta make sure our sneakers are tied and our sweat-bands are on.
On your mark, get set...

Do you think there is any hope that Paramount will be interested in Lockwood and Co after the like?
Oh Anon, we always have hope <3 That's our USP :3
More seriously (and thank you for the question!), there's more than just hope! We had awesome engagement with Paramount+, and with the number of tweets/replies we left on their posts (particularly on the which character would you want to take to dinner post), they definitely noticed. Even though it's underpaid interns working the social media handles, those interns are also responsible for reporting engagement to their managers, who are in turn responsible for reporting it up the pipeline. Paramount+ also has a bent towards the spooky/paranormal with Ghosts, School Spirits, etc. etc., which gives us hope as well.
The things we do get noticed; the things we do matter. The more we do on this front end -- these very early days -- the more that stuff in two weeks or a month or three months drives itself. If Paramount+ doesn't pick it up, that's fine -- while we (the mods of this tumblr) would love that, whoever picks it up is fine with us, since CF is the one driving the boat anyway. From the sounds of the interviews with Joe Cornish (interviews were pre-cancellation), the second season/spate of episodes were already written before Season 1 premiered, so they're in a better position than most to hit the ground running with whoever gives them the green light.
In a final note of encouragement, Complete Fiction liking the tweet about them not giving up after trying to make Lockwood and Co for the past decade? That's good stuff right there. CF, Cornish, the Strouds and the like are careful about what they like and post, since it's all public. To like that publicly means very good things - and reminds us that they're just as passionate as we are, and just as dedicated to telling this story in full.

Paramount+ Information
It's the day We (the mods of this blog but more specifically me, your slightly unhinged tumblr mod) have been waiting for. Technically, it's the day before, but that shan't spoil my fun!
It's late on Monday evening for us (Monday, May 29th/Memorial Day for our pals in the US), so it's time to prep for tomorrow! Remember, tomorrow's hashtag will be #ParamountForLockwoodAndCo! (The excess of exclamation points are due to Fiendish Glee!)
We'll make a similar post for each streaming service that the day's hashtag will focus on the night before (as we are for Paramount+ today), so that we can all hit the ground running the day of.
**Just as a heads up, these posts are for information, not for debating which platform L&Co should end up. Our thoughts on that are here if you're interested. Keep it kind, polite, and professional -- the ultimate aim is getting the show picked up, no matter which site does it.**
