Seriously people the lack of fandom interaction these days makes me genuinely depressed, it never used to be like this, makes me wonder what's the point of coming online to do anything anymore.

They are already selling data to midjourney, and it's very likely your work is already being used to train their models because you have to OPT OUT of this, not opt in. Very scummy of them to roll this out unannounced.
you wince as shoto passes an alcohol wipe on the smallest of scratches on your shin, then breathe gently out of your nose, covering up your embarrassment with laughter. the entire situation is silly - you've fought genuine monsters together, you've been through much worse from hero training to real life, but somehow right now, shoto has deemed it necessary to stop everything on your walk along the beach to treat a cut you can barely see.
all because you tripped.
shoto looks up at you, wrapping up the wipe to discard it, his head just slightly tilted as he checks for distress on your features.
"what's funny?" he asks.
your face warms. "not funny, just..." you purse your lips a little, and he directs his gaze down, blowing on the cut as though you were a five year-old. he might as well slap a band-aid on and kiss on top. embarrassing.
"you're being too nice to me," you finally eke out.
he gives you a look of mild confusion, as if nothing on earth could be more wrong, then rises.
"no, i'm making sure your cut doesn't get infected."
you roll your eyes, playfully. "it's tiny. i've had so much worse."
he shrugs. "but i see this one, so i'll take care of it. i promised to take care of you."
shoto rises to his full height so that he's looking down at you sitting on the bench, and holds both of your hands. he doesn't pull you up yet, and you wait for a few more seconds, meeting his gaze. it's nighttime and the passersby have decreased in number, but there are still a few couples out, none so different from yourself, but still you feel unique in his affection.
he has promised to take care of you, hasn't he? and he always has, in his small ways, in his big ways. even if this seems excessive, it is not out of the ordinary for him.
"should we continue?" he asks. he smiles, and it's softer than the overhead full moon.
