Not the best photo of it but -
Finished commission of another coworker's pet.
No background for this guy, either, per request for a "plain, sky blue" background.
Happy to be finished with this one, I'll say!
I have quite a few other commissions and personal paintings lined up at the moment, and life is quite busy.
My co-worker decorated my desk for my birthday and she was the only person at work who remembered. So I painted her dog for her birthday, which is next Friday. 😌 She'll have tons of decorations and gag gifts as well.
I only wish I had a little more time to create a more interesting background, but the dog would have to be touch dry for that, which might not happen before her bday.
I've known I've wanted to paint Alien in some kind of setting for my apartment for a while, now. Never imagined I'd be putting him in a coffee shop, reading, but I guess that's what's about to happen, haha!
Started this concept about 20 minutes ago. Not sure if I like this pose but we'll see. Grounded leg needs to be a bit longer and there are tons of things that'll be switched around but I figured I would check in to show that despite the business of life, I am still here and finding time to paint.
I'm not a religious person, myself, but I'd like to share a piece I am working on for a family member, regardless. I've struggled with whether or not to share this one as I tend to believe that the people who follow this man do more harm than good to others, but I am proud of my progress here. I have been fairly distracted by daily life these days, but I imagine the piece should be done within a month or so. :)
A few next steps I plan to take include taking in the bridge of the nose just a bit and extending the inner corner of the eye presented on the right side of this photo, perhaps lengthening the beard a smidge (undecided), and of course getting to work on the eyes, hair, and throat. I may deepen the color of the lower lip with a glazing pass, as well.

Edit 07.10.23: Another update on weekend yeezus progress (third photo). Definitely going to be changing some things about that hair, I think. Eyes will be next. Nearly had a meltdown over the throat shadow (which I have come to like for the most part but may tweak just a bit). Welcome to art! 😂
I do wish that I had access to my full scope of supplies at present though, as this is a painting that would be much better suited with some glazing. ESPECIALLY for that throat shadow. But alas, I am making do with the supplies that I have.
I think I’ll call it finished though there’s so much more I could do. It was never meant to be a full-blown portrait, just a warm up. So I’m fairly happy with the turnout. :)
It’s been quite a while, my friends. I underwent a drastic life change this year and will still be in the process of finishing that up until spring. But I took a couple of hours today to doodle and warm up from a year without artistic expression. I’m sure I’ll add more to it / continue refining it. But for now, here’s something. ☺
Just a simple mechanical pencil on printer paper. Nothing fancy.

He has kind eyes. I enjoy when they’re aimed at me.
Hello friends! Here is a quick preview of the preparation for my next painting. I hope you'll stay tuned for the real deal. :)
*This sketch depicts a preview of what will become an oil painting timelapse for the video game Horizon: Forbidden West (the sequel to Horizon: Zero Dawn) [Guerrilla Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment] for Playstation 4 and Playstation 5. (PS4 , PS5).
I know it’s been a few weeks since I’ve posted much but I promise to be back soon! The holidays have been a little crazy.
For now, have a quick 10 minute sketch of my old friend Cam’s dog.
We reconnected tonight after not speaking for around 6 years or so. We swapped selfies to show each other how we’ve grown and this sketch stems from my hyper-fixation on the judgement from his dog, Artemis, in the background of his photo. 😅
Hello, all. Here is a sneak peak at my next piece. ☺
Aloy from Horizon Forbidden West! 🎉
This is the rough sketch for my underpainting. A preview video will be soon to follow. I hope you enjoy!
My first video is up on YouTube! :) Check it out and feel free to leave me feedback or questions in the comments. Like and Subscribe to help me grow! ☺
