"it's a turn about the room, vakarian -- what's the worst thing that could happen?" on a normal day, in a normal room this would be a LAUGHABLE situation. but as it was, shepard looked pallid under the fluorescent lighting, her voice soft and just barely cracking due to a lack of use and excess of EXHAUSTION. four broken ribs, a shattered leg, arm, hip, collarbone... fuck, they basically had to put her skull back together like she was HUMPTY DUMPTY (she never thought that she would live to see the day where she thanked cerberus for the way they built her back together) and every step felt as though she had run a marathon.

as it was, the arm that wasn't in a sling was moving slowly and shakily for her hand to grasp the windowsill that she was standing next to. she felt pathetic, she felt WEAK -- but most of all... she felt as though perhaps this was all just a dream. she would say that maybe it was heaven or the afterlife, but she'd already died once. nothing had been waiting for her on the other side.

her tired, heavy gaze moved to rest upon the turian's lumbering frame and in doing so, a lightness came over her eyes. they crinkled, matching the way her lips stretched into as wide of a smile as she could manage. "if a few steps through a hospital room kills me this time, you gotta promise not to bring me back. i don't think i could handle the EMBARRASSMENT."
