This is where Regulus goes to watch the rain fall at Hogwarts, he always chooses this spot, no one comes near this side of the castle, so he’s at peace and alone.

One day, he starts noticing, a couple of windows away, a boy doing the same, just leaning, watching the rain, smoking a cigarette. They glance at each other, and that’s it. It goes on like that, apparently, they share the sentiment for the quiet place.

An afternoon, the guy lifts up his cigarette pack, a question, Regulus smirks and accio’s it, takes one out and the owner retrieves it. As the days go by, it becomes a routine, they just smoke in silence, in their own window; until one day, when he opens the packet and there’s a note there, “wanna share window?” He looks up, smiles and blows out the smoke, he sees the guy lean back and as he stares forward, he feels a presence settle down next to him, the routine keeps going.

Eventually, they start talking, about anything and everything, it’s calm, peaceful, and he feels comfortable. They also start sharing a cigarette, instead of taking one each, if only to secretly feel the each other’s lips indirectly.

It changes one stormy evening, full of thunders and lightings, it’s heavily raining and during a particularly loud thunder, he’s being turned around against the balcony and fiercely kissed, Regulus quickly reciprocates, arms around his neck, feeling strong hands on his waist, they bite, they lick, they scratch, the kiss is hard, and hot, and the sky seems to cheer.

They pull apart, heavy breaths, lips still brushing, some intense quick kisses still trying to ignite it all again, the boy huffs a short laugh “guess I didn’t read the room all that wrong, huh”, Regulus smirks, sharp tongue rapidly teasing across the other boy’s lips in a little sinful lick and replies “you were always the bright one Lupin” before having his lower lip tugged again between teeth, and that’s all it takes, they stay pressed there, hungry kisses that taste like rain and smoke, a new stormy day routine.

regulus translates literature for remus bc remus knows only english (and welsh) and he hates the thought of there being literature that he cant read in the original language and he doesnt want to read translations bc he wouldnt trust the translator (as translations are basically interpretations, not the text translated word for word) but then he lets regulus translate the works for him and they read them together with regulus explaining how the language works and the nuances and word play
