Jungle! Conditioner!
Lush's Description:"Jungle feels different on your hair from liquid conditioner; until you wash it off, you hardly notice it's there. It smoothes and detangles, leaving a fruitily scented coat of shininess. Smooth it along the length of your hair from root to tip, then rinse out."
Ingredients: Fair Trade Cocoa Butter, Cetearyl Alcohol and Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Propylene Glycol,Fresh Avocado Extract, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Stearic Acid, Perfume, Soya Lecithin, Fresh Figs, Fresh Bananas, Fresh Passion Fruit, Fresh Kumquat, Fresh Kiwi Fruit, Cetrimonium Bromide, Ylang Ylang Oil, Cypress Oil, Sandalwood Oil, Chlorophyll, Limonene, Linalool
My Thoughts: I've heard good and bad things about this product and I have concluded that it depends on the person and their hair whether or not they will like Jungle or not. I used Jungle for about a month and personally I couldn't wait to have my Retread back. I was really disappointed because the scent is amazing but it didnt detangle or give my hair the moisture it needed. The only way I actually partially liked this product was when I smear it in my hair dry and let it sit there for a few hours; only then when I wash it out does it feel satisfyingly softened. Honestly though as much as I like the idea of the solid it didn't compare to the liquid (at least for my hair). I tried using in the shower two ways, the first being taking the puck and directly rubbing it in my hair, and also smooshing it into my hands into a paste then smearing it in my ends. Both methods were inconclusive. On the bright side its a nice product to use as shaving cream! <3

Blue Skies and Fluffy White Clouds Bubble Bar
Lush's Description: "Calming, grounding, swirly blue and white bar for peaceful baths. A bath in superbly relaxing patchouli scented Blue Skies water is as relaxing as meditating in the peaceful garden of a Far Eastern temple, while enjoying the scents of the exotic blooms cultivated there."
Ingredients: Sodium Bicarbonate, Cream Of Tartar, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Lauryl Betaine, Cocamide DEA, Patchuli Oil, Frankincense Resinoid, Cinnamon Leaf Oil, Eugenol, Limonene, Linalool, Perfume, Blue Color.
My Thoughts: Oh my goodness I love Blue Skies and Fluffy White Clouds with a passion! This bubble bar was inspired by a song by The Orb called Little Fluffy Clouds which if you have not heard you should search it on youtube and listen to it, because Mark Constantine did a hell of a job embodying it in a bath product. Whenever I restock I find myself to be a bit picky when choosing this bar. I find that the light blue ones have a more lovely patchouli scent that the darker "fresher" one. I had this really intense conversation with one of my friends about it, that's how ridiculous it has gotten, and we have decided that by the time the color starts to fade in the bubble bar the patchouli oil has time to age and not be as overpowering. Which, of course, I love since you can also pick up the frankincense and it smells much more balanced. Love is a faded BSAFWC! It is really relaxing in the tub, it puts me into kind of a meditative state where I just zone out! Its definitely meant to be a aromatherapy type bath since the fragrance really doesn't stick and I didn't notice any added moisture to my skin etc. But my God this has to be my favorite. It reminds me of fresh earth right after it rains. <3

New Lush Campaign! Ban the Fin!
Lush's New campaign in North America was launched today! I am so excited you don't even know! It's titled Ban The Fin! Where Lush Cosmetics has joined forces with Shark Savers to campaign against the cruel act of de-finning these poor creatures and then tossing them back into the ocean while still alive. That is so wrong in so many ways it would probably traumatize small children more than the idea of a shark attack! For the next couple of weeks Lush NA is going to try and make people more aware of this common occurance and try to stop it by handing out info sheets and selling nifty little sea vegetable soaps with shark fins sticking out the top.
The proceeds from the sale of the soap will go towards efforts to stop this cruel practice.
Is the equvilent to

You probably didn't see / feel the effects of Big because you diluted it down before putting it on your head.
That might be part of it but I honestly think, as nice as Big smells, its really not for my hair. Its designed for thin limp hair that needs some life. My hair has so much life it has a mind of its own sometimes. The third time I used it I attempted to apply the big directly to my hair as I generally do with most shampoos and embarrassingly enough it got lost it my layers. :/ Im thinking I might buy it again as a bodyscrub.

BIG! Shampoo.
Lush's Description: "Give limp hair the volume it deserves with seaweed infusion to soften hair and citrus juices for shine. After using BIG, your hair will be bouncing back to life."
Ingredients: Sea Salt, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Fresh Organic Lemon Infusion, Fresh Sea Water, Toothed Wrack Seaweed Infusion, Cocamide DEA, Lauryl Betaine, Fresh Organic Lime Juice, Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, Neroli Oil, Mandarin Oil, Vanilla Absolute, Orris Absolute, Limonene, Linalool, Benzyl Benzoate, Coumarin, Perfume.
My Thoughts: Big Shampoo was quite the interesting experience indeed. It definitely does not look or feel like normal shampoo at all but a gritty almost oily substance. I found the best way to get a good lather started with this is to take some in your hand, add a bit of water and then lather it up in your hands and then apply it to your hair and continue to wash as normal. It smells lovely it reminded me of the beach and a department store at the same time. Almost like a refreshing, clean, salty scent. As far as my hair goes it made it REALLY soft and shiny. I really didn't notice HEAPS of volume because my hair is rather fluffy to start out with but it definitely was not flat. At first I felt that it kind of tangled my hair but I had no recurring issues with it after the first shampoo. Also, my hair is color treated and though it did slightly lift my color it was no worse than using the run of the mill drug store shampoo. All in all it was a nice product it just wasn't my favorite so I probably won't be purchasing again. <3

How many times a week do you use "Dark Angels"? Also how so you use the sopes? do you need a wash cloth? i use it straight from the bar but i want to know if there is another way? i like to feel clean haha and i like using wash cloths/ luffahs!
I use dark angels every night but my face can handle it. Some people's faces are to sensitive to use it every night so some use it as little as once a week. It really depends on the person. As far as the soaps go I use a soap bag that i bought from Sunflower Market and essentially you place the bar of soap in the bag an wash with it and it helps the soap last longer. It lathers ok too I noticed some soaps lather more than others though.

Alkmaar Soap
Lush's Description: "If you've been into a LUSH shop, you probably noticed that our soaps look a lot like blocks of cheese. To confuse people even more we cut our soap on cutting boards, weigh it, and then wrap it in deli paper to be sold. Alkmaar is named after a city in the Netherlands famous for its cheese markets where big rounds of delicious cheeses are sold. This soap doesn't smell like cheese though! It has a creamy sexy jasmine and honeysuckle scent with smokey vetivert undertones."
Ingredients: Honeysuckle Infusion, Amaranth Infusion, Rapeseed Oil, Coconut Oil, Sodium Stearate, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Titanium Dioxide, Perfume, Glycerine, Jasmine Absolute, Vetivert Oil, Styrax Resinoid, Sodium Chloride, EDTA, Tetrasodium Etidronate.
My Thoughts: At first sniff in the store I thought this soap was awful it smelled like chalk and something about it reminded me of garlic. I was not a fan and then after returning to the store and smelling it a few times over it the smell seemed to lighten up. Enough for me to brave using it. Please understand this soap smells COMPLETELY DIFFERENT once you get it home. The first time i used it in my shower the whole bathroom smelled of beautiful honeysuckles! It was marvelous! It was so much better than I was expecting! I couldn't really even smell much of the vetivert at all it was just wafting this beautiful floral fragrance that I still can get over! It was creamy and gave a decent lather. I also didn't notice much of an increase in moisture but it didn't dry me out either. I felt it was a little to soft though but that didn't matter much to me because it smelled so good. This soap has honestly become one of my faves! I love surprises! <3

If lush is so fresh and rots, why do people have such huge collections of it?
Because some people keep it way past the expiration date when they shouldn't. Generally most lush products last 14 months with the exception of the face masks, king of skin, and volcano.<3

TWILIGHT BATH BOMB
Lush's Description: "That moment when the sun starts setting into the night sky, painting it with vibrant hues of orange and purple before being peppered with sparkling stars, is a wonder that we pause to admire with those we love. Recreate twilight in your bath water with clouds of lavender, ylang ylang and ovaltine to soothe body and mind."
Ingredients: Sodium Bicarbonate, Citric Acid, Cream of Tartar, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Lavender Oil, Benzoin Resinoid, Tonka Absolute, Ylang Ylang Oil, Lauryl Betaine, Cocamide DEA, Coumarin, Linalool, Perfume, Propylene Glycol, Red Coloring, Iridescent Glitter.
My Thoughts: At first I kinda got the impression that this bath bomb was a bit overrated. Smelling it in the store didn't blow my skirt up to much either but what I have learned with previous Lush bath bomb experiences is that you should definitely try it before you knock it. The glitter really wasn't visible which was a little sad since in some of the demos I've seen the glitter was noticeable. The smell was AMAZING. It wasn't just like "oh wow a lavender bath bomb" it was malty lavender. Like if they added a little more vanilla and some sugar you could possible drink it in a tasty beverage. Lavander is an awesome aromatherapy tool it helps with depression, headaches, hypertension, insomnia, migraine, nervous tension, stress related conditions, PMT, sciatica, shock and vertigo. So there was no shock that it was very relaxing and that I stayed in until the water was cold! What was really cool was once the blue and purple froth mixed together in the water it made this really pretty purple color which I still can't get over. It didn't really do wonders for my skin but the smell lingered wonderfully and I kept smelling myself throughout the night. It makes sense that this is the current #1 bestselling NA LUSH product. <3
*And please excuse my lameness in the video. lolz

icanheartheoceancallingme:
Alice Newstead took the drastic action in protest at the practice of finning – where sharks are impaled on hooks, before their fins are sliced off to harvest meat for shark fin soup. The sharks are then thrown back into the ocean still alive.
A crowd gathered outside the Lush cosmetics shop in London’s Regent’s Street to see the 26-year-old impaled by hooks in her back and gasped as blood trickled down her back.
Miss Newstead said: “I am doing this because the demand for shark fin soup and other shark products is wiping out the shark population.
“I have had my torso, legs, arms, stomach and knees pierced before so that I could hang from them, so this is no big deal.
“Being hung from the chest is more painful than the back because it restricts your breathing, but as long as the piercer knows what they are doing then it is completely safe,” she said.
I find this incredible I wish the US stores did cool stuff like this. I would do a suspension for LUSH any day!

THE COMFORTER
Lush's Description: "This fruity bubble bar gives the feeling of being hugged by a jolly blackcurrant. When life is getting you down, crumble The Comforter under hot, running water for purple water and creamy bubbles. It was created to bring a real sense of comfort to people, just like a real comforter (or scarf) would."
Ingredients: Sodium Bicarbonate, Cream of Tartar, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Lauryl Betaine, Perfume, Titanium Dioxide, Cocamide DEA, Bergamot Oil, Cassis Oil, Cypress Oil, Limonene, Linalool, Red Color.
My Thoughts: I can see how this can be a popular choice just after crumbling a piece massive amounts of bubbles appeared, and i mean MASSIVE! The water was reaaaalllllly pink and creamy and stunk up my whole bathroom like candy, bubblegum flavored candy. I didn't feel like it was a moisturizing bath but it definitely wasn't drying either. The scent did linger on my skin but I also felt a little bit sticky afterwards but it went away after a while. Even after I emptied the tub their were still a bunch of bubbles lingering on the bottom. Personally Im not nuts about the smell of really sweet scents but this wasn't unbearable I can see why a lot of people really enjoy this bubble bar though, It's huge, it's pink, and the smell is agreeable to the majority of the population. Good job Lush. <3
