Inklings Challenge Chapter Links

I'm putting all the links to the posts and the Wattpad link here, in hopes of making things easier.

This is for the @inklings-challenge. This year I was on Team Lewis, and I went for portal fantasy. I wanted to incorporate all of this year's themes, which were acts of mercy.

The story is currently unfinished (as of the deadline, Oct. 21), and so not all the themes are yet present.

The Comforter:

Megan Carr thought she got a new house. A basement that time shared as another world's dungeon was not something she had anticipated her house having.

She finds an interest in meeting the various criminals jailed in the dungeon, and giving them a bit of respite from their ailments. Unfortunately for her, that interest has turned her into a wanted criminal in their world.

Jules Jourdain and William Jones, Circuit Breaker and the Comforter

while Jules is an Avatar of the Still Force, Jones channels the Sage Force, though the nature of his abilities were unknown to him when they first manifested during the death of his wife during the darkest days of Bane's No Man's Land, violently murdered by adherents of Deacon Blackfire. Fashioning a death mask in her likeness, Jones left Gotham for Keystone-Central, taking over operation of a homeless shelter he used as a front to commit truly horrific murders--even for the realm of metahumans hunting baseline humans.

Things came to a head when Jules--following news of a unhoused trans people vanishing around Jones's shelter--investigated the site as Circuit Breaker, bringing him into confrontation with the Comforter.

I think cis people should also be their gender of choice. Like, if you're a man, you should get to really enjoy being a man- have fun with it! If you're a woman, take the parts of womanhood that really deeply make you happy. If being a little androgynous or ambiguous or hidden is the part that really makes you happy, you don't have to be trans for that. If you wanna lean really hard into being femme or masc- do it! You have one life in your body, do what makes you happy. Ditch the stuff you don't like.

My sinister queer agenda is I think that everyone should be the gender they like in the way they like it.
