The Sims 4 Mod: The Custom Preferences Mod
To support the new Turn Ons and Turn Offs in Lovestruck, patch 1.108.289.1030 changed the code for how preferences work, so custom categories must be added to a list and no longer show up automatically in the Likes and Dislikes section. Furthermore, the list uses SimData, so it's not possible to simply inject it with a Python script.
Sadly, this means the only way for custom categories to work at all (at least without some really complex UI modding) is via a global mod that adds them all back.
This mod adds support for custom categories in the following mods:

I claim no ownership over this and give full permission to copy and make your own versions of this mod, as well as distribute those versions. While I intend to update it with preferences from other mods, you can also do that yourself if you're making your own mod or want to use a mod that hasn't been added yet.

Stop T-Posing Please! (Makarra)
My dear friend, @makarrra , no longer maintains this mod, so I decided to take it over, but Mak gets all the original credits!!!
This is a simple tuning mod that turns autonomy off for NPCs in T-Posing (as it relates to the T-Pose Challenge from High School Years).
If you don't have HSY, don't download this, it won't do anything for you.
This is not the same as your game having an animation error and your sim t-posing as result!

New Plant-based Mini Mod
I've got a new Mini Mod for you today. I became aware, after browsing the offical bug forum, that the toilet bush from Snowy Escape isn't available in the catalogue outside of Wedding Venues. I don't even think I knew it existed until now.
This mod will add it into; Build > Shrubs,; Buy > Actvities and Skills > Outdoor Activities; Buy > Off-the-Grid > Outdoor Activities.

Hey, Sim-dumpers and custom save creators...
Your custom Sims are gorgeous. Your custom saves have great concepts. But it's not okay to upload other people's custom content and mods alongside your tray and save files.
I get it — it's soooo much easier, for you, to just upload your whole folder than it is to make a list of the CC and mods people should download to make sure that Sim looks like the one in your picture etc. But this is how players end up with messed-up Mods folders full of
duplicates, including both older and newer versions of mods/CC,
mods that conflict with each other,
broken mods and CC,
mods they don't know they have because they didn't consciously install them (so when one is on a "broken" list, they don't know it's there to remove it),
mods they don't know the full effects of and possibly wouldn't want if they'd seen the description,
and wrongly installed mods.
PLEASE STOP. Do your fans — and your fellow creators and all the volunteers doing support — a huge favour and take the time to make that list instead.
Side note: If you're found to be redistributing other people's creations, your own mod and CC updates will not be promoted by me on the EA Forums Broken and Updated Mods and CC list, or on any other mod-news site I know of.

Mod status for patch 1.115
All Beds Same Energy and Comfort's "Camping" file is updated for patch 1.115 and the Nature's Calling Event. Download at https://www.curseforge.com/sims4/mods/all-beds-same-energy-comfort
All the Gardening Plants mods are compatible with patch 1.115. I suspect that this "something is growing" webpage hinting toward (presumably) the next pack is going to mean they need updating at the next patch, though!

I was telling my dad how I found the original release prices of TS1/expansions, since he's the one who was buying them for my sibling and me - but he was as surprised at TS1 being $89 & Livin' Large being $56 in 2025 money as I was
he said "well you guys seemed to be enjoying it so I didn't think much of the price" (he still says that tbh lol), but he also said he got Super Mario Bros 3 for $39.99, on sale from $49.99, which is $98 in 2025 money
like... I know SMB3 is the greatest Mario game ever made or whatever, but $98...
and that Monkey Island screencap that always gets shared, "Never pay more than 20 bucks for a computer game" (in 1990 money), TS1 being $48 on release definitely breaks that rule lol
idk I just think it's interesting, like the increasing cost of games where now pre-orders are $70 at the lower end, and $90-$100 at higher end (if you invest in the super special pre-order exclusive funny hat DLC or whatever)
apparently when games were averaging $40-$50 we were getting deals the whole time, and now games are just going back to how much they used to cost 20 years ago... but with all of the modern context piled on, like how a majority of games are not even finished when you drop that much money on them, and how they expect you to give them more money on top of that at some point for DLC or microtransactions or whatever they come up with to charge people for next

PSA: Mermaids, Crashing, & Tattoos
There's a current crashing issue that Crin has narrowed down to saves with mermaids with tattoos (either on just their mermaid form or on BOTH the mermaid & human form--human form ONLY is not impacted).
You may experiencing crashing on any of the following situations:
Mermaids with cc tattoos, then removing your cc tattoos from your mods folder.
Mermaids with game tattoos, then disabling the pack it comes from.
Mermaids with game tattoos from packs you don't own (aka placing a mermaid from the gallery in game)
What you can do:
If you're testing for something, test on a save that doesn't have mermaids with cc tattoos.
Or remove the cc tattoos from the mermaid, save, and then test.
Don't disable packs before ensuring mermaids in your save don't have a tattoo from that pack on.
Don't download mermaids off the gallery that use packs you don't own.

Custom Tattoos + Mermaids (patch 1.114)
Remove custom tattoos -- CC or not -- from Mermaids before removing custom tattoos from your game. Crinrict has isolated a Main Menu crash to this.
This includes for Mods folder testing! Change up your Mermaids OR remove your save file for the Mods folder testing process and use a different save for testing.
It's possible that there are other causes, but these have been tested so far. NOTE: I'll edit this post when this game bug is fixed. I have no reason to think that CC creators can do anything about this. It's not limited to CC tattoos.

🌸 First of all, delete "localthumbcache". If you don't know how to do it, here's the tutorial :)
🔷 If it's your first time downloading the item:
You don't have to do anything. Just download it and place in your Mods folder. They're all updated as of now :)
🔷 If you already have them in your Mods folder:
1- Delete the old version. If you don't know how to locate it, search for "channel4sims" in your mods folder. This will probably help you. The files are called the same.
2- Download the new file and place it in your Mods folder :)

Hey, all! If you have recent Pixelunivairse files, play it safe - check that everything is just a .package file. If not, delete and run a virus scan. Don't download recent Pixelunivairse for now.
And remember: Don't just throw stuff in your Mods folder. LOOK at what you're installing. There should never be anything but .package and maybe .txt files in those clothes you're CC-shopping for.

I think 'that someone else has gained access to my SimFileShare account' this what the SimFileShare team said when I couldn't access my account even thought that I was able to do so a couple hours before that to check if everything was Ok😑, So my account is not working at moment, and I advise everyone to be vigilant and refrain from downloading anything to keep your pc safe. BETTER SAFE THAN SORRY💚💚💚.

Doing this on anon for obvious reasons but is there any chance of getting hired as an entry level game dev in 2025? I've been unemployed for nearly two years since graduating from uni and I'm just getting rejection after rejection from game companies. All the posts are looking for senior devs, team leads, or managers. I have friends who've given up on the industry entirely. Is there any hope? Or am I fighting a losing battle here...
In times of economic difficulty or uncertainty, the number of overall jobs decreases because the number of cancellations rises. New studios do start up, but entry level positions are rare since most of the new studios are looking for funding and they need the core senior dev team to build enough of a prototype to sell the idea to the money people. Were I in your place, I would do two things - I would first widen my search to look for work in adjacent fields where I could train my primary skills, and I would secondly do amateur game dev in my spare time to use as experience as I apply for new jobs.
The first approach is to get a game dev adjacent job. If you're an artist, this could mean illustration, commissions, contract work, or whatever else. Engineering could mean working in simulation software, B2B stuff, graphics, user interface, server engineering, and so on. Producers should focus project management positions and the like. Designers are probably the hardest to find something nearby, a UX designer position or maybe working in training/simulation software or casino games would be a decent fit. Regardless what it is you find, find something to earn some money while you try to get the real job you want.
Secondly, work on your own game dev project in your spare time. Create art assets, build gameplay systems, create game content, do stuff to level up and grow your skills. The self-driven project experience will be noticed on your resume when you apply to positions. We hiring managers want to see that kind of stuff on resumes, especially if you can't find a job in the field. We know that finding a job is hard, we won't hold it against you when we're hiring at entry level.
It's important to remember that entry level work has lots of applicants. Luck plays as large a part in the hiring process as the resume and skills. This could mean that the hiring manager has already selected a candidate or has a candidate further along in the interview process than you at the time of application, or that we already have an offer out for someone, or that the project has changed and the position is a ghost job that the recruiters haven't taken down yet. As such, it's a numbers game - the more shots you take, the more likely you'll get a response (especially if you take the time to [optimize your chances]). If you really want to work professionally as a game dev, you need determination to keep going. Find something to pay the bills, keep doing it in your spare time, and update your resume before firing off a fresh round of applications every six months or so.
