morning comes, and a groan escapes your mouth after noticing the lack of warmth in the other side of the bed. kuroo had gone to work even earlier than usual, this had been happening all week. you've never seen your boyfriend so stressed before, not even during his past matches, not even during nationals, so you knew this was serious.

what's worse is that you yourself haven't been feeling all that great, but his absence made it all the more significant. you always told yourself that better days would come, and they will. after all, living with the love of your life made it all worthwhile.

reluctantly, you rose from the bed, and with quick strides you headed to the small kitchen of the apartment. a hot cup of cocoa could surely pick up your mood. everything is in order and you thank yourself for diligently doing the dishes last night, even though all you wanted was to plop on the bed and not wake up.

breakfast goes past quickly, and you start feeling a little better. you decide that maybe, reading a book would be a good way to pass time. the living room seems extra cozy right now, so what's stopping you?

oddly however, in the coffee table placed in the center of the room, lays an unopened envelope with your name etched on it. you can't say it's written beautifully, with delicate calligraphy, but you know who the handwriting belongs to. careful not to tear the envelope, you open it and slide the recipients out, these being some kind of letter and a pressed flower, your favorite flower to be exact. rubbing your eyes as to get rid of any remnants of your sleepy state, you start reading.

"my dear love,

i know you're going through a rough patch right now and i truly apologize for not being able to be more present these days. however, i hope to make it up to you. please head to the bedroom, and remember that no matter what happens, i will always love you.

as soon as the word 'bedroom' reached your line of sight, you bolted to said room, excitement bursting through your veins and a dumb grin on your face. seemingly, kuroo had somehow managed to get home without you knowing, which you had to give him credit for honestly.

as you opened the door, you saw how the tender sunshine was able to tint the room a beautiful and delicate orange, coming through the big glass windows. and standing there was no other than your boyfriend, with a warm smile. just before you had entered the room, he engulfed you in a big hug, his musk clouding your senses, making you relax your muscles and burying your face in the crook of his neck.

"hi, babe." he said with a chesire grin. a kiss was pressed in your temple, which you responded by hugging him tighter.

"how do you manage to look so stunning first thing in the morning?" a teasing lilt was laced in his tone.

"i'm kinda jealous, not gonna lie."

after hesitantly unwrapping your arms off the top of his shoulders, he closed the distance between you two, giving you a soft and loving kiss, the kind that made you feel like you were being treated like the most expensive fine china.

you both spent the morning lazily, cuddling like there was no tomorrow and like nothing else in the world mattered, it was just you two. kisses were exchanged, giggles and even some tears, but you wouldn't give up these moments even if you were offered the world, because your world was right in front of you.
