A look at the lobby inside The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas, NV. (The developer, 3700 Associates, was a joint venture formed by David Friedman (a former Las Vegas Sands executive), Ian Bruce Eichner (a real estate developer), and Soros Fund Management.The developers purchased the site, an 8.5-acre U-shaped parcel surrounding the Jockey Club timeshare building, for $90 million from a company controlled by New Frontier owner Margaret Elardi. Further details about the project, including the Cosmopolitan name, were released in November 2004.The Cosmopolitan's design team was led by Friedmutter Group as executive architect, with Arquitectonica as the design architect for the building's themed exterior. The building was engineered by DeSimone Consulting Engineers. The interior design team included Digital Kitchen, Prophet, the Friedmutter Group, The Rockwell Group, Jeffrey Beers, Adam Tihany, and Bentel & Bentel.)

Penthouse inside of Veer Towers in Las Vegas, NV (designed by Helmut Jahn's office based in Chicago. Lobbies and public spaces were developed by Francisco Gonzalez Pulido and showcase works by natural light. Dianna Wong Architecture & Interior Design designed the residences.)
Veer Towers are twin 37-story, 480-foot (150 m), residential towers located within CityCenter on the Las Vegas Strip in Paradise, Nevada. Each tower houses 335 luxury condominium units ranging from 537 to 2,256 square feet. The two towers were designed by Murphy/Jahn Architects of Chicago and lean in opposite directions (five degrees from center).
Every residence has a view of the Las Vegas skyline. Lobbies and public spaces were developed by Francisco Gonzalez Pulido and showcase works by natural light. Dianna Wong Architecture & Interior Design designed the residences.
The rooftop Sky Decks include infinity edge swimming pools, hot tubs, sun decks and summer kitchens. Resident fitness and locker rooms, billiards rooms and lounges are on the 37th floor. A private residential driveway leads to separate vehicle entrances, secured elevators and valet service, all monitored by 24-hour security.
The towers are the only all-residential buildings at CityCenter.

The hotel received a LEED Gold certification on November 20, 2009.The Mandarin Oriental Las Vegas opened on December 5, 2009.
In December 2009, the French restaurant Twist opened in the Mandarin Oriental and marked the U.S. debut of Michelin Three-Star French chef Pierre Gagnaire.
The hotel holds the AAA Five Diamond Award and three Forbes Five Star Awards, one for every category.

In January 2011, Panorama North was renamed The Martin as part of a marketing strategy to increase sales in the tower. The Martin was named after Dean Martin. A renovation of the tower was scheduled to begin in mid-September 2011. Improvements totaling $3 million were made to the tower, including a redesigned lobby with a library, and lounges at the pool. The renovation also included new landscaping and the addition of vintage furniture and retro décor, as well as residential services such as concierge, car service, continental breakfast and room-cleaning. Renovations concluded in March 2012. Monthly sales subsequently increased, with strong sales occurring throughout 2012 and 2013.

Vote expected next week for Raiders proposed move to Las Vegas

The fate of the Raiders proposed move to Las Vegas will likely be decided next week. The move is on the agenda for the NFL owners meeting in Phoenix that starts Monday, which means it will likely go to a vote before the meeting ends Wednesday.
The Raiders need approval of 24 of the league's 32 owners to move from Oakland to Las Vegas.
