I feel like I’m the last one to finally finish this show! I was watching on Netflix and actually got caught up enough to be able to watch the final season when it aired this year... but, decided not to because season 7 sucked so bad! I hate to start out on a bad note but, it did. Either way, this show will go down in history for the best love triangle of all time. It’s so good and definitely binge watching worthy! I can understand all the fandom around this show because the characters and their stories are amazing. You will laugh and cry through this show. It will literally turn your brain into mush sometimes. Full of vampires and secrets. Amazing show. The ending was okay too and really made me super happy.

For the weary.

This is for those of you feeling confused today.

This is for those of you feeling unsure today.

Life is full of questions and worries. Daily life can be a struggle if we allow it to be. We must trust in God. Lately, I’ve been thinking about that.. trusting in God. It’’s so easy to say but actually truly trusting God in all things.. it can be hard. I have to pray daily that God will build my faith and allow my mind to completely turn over everything to God. I even sometimes picture taking boxes to the feet of God. Small ones, big ones, heavy ones.. I struggle to push or carry these boxes to Jesus. I finally think I have them all but I look behind and there’s more. We have to look at problems as not problems at all but, test and trials of life. We have to completely turn over everything to God. That doesn’t mean pushing boxes of stuff to him. That means giving it all to Him and not even looking at your problems. Instead, trusting in Him fully by declaring, “You are mighty God! This problem may be big but it’s not bigger than You!” I tell myself so many times, “God has everything in control.” But, I don’t live it. A lot of times I try to take things into my own hands, be boss lady and not ask for help. We can’t do that. We need help. I want to start living a life where I have perfect peace with Jesus even in my sorrows and anxieties. I want to depend on God and Him alone. I want Him to be number one at all times. Prayers for me as I try to walk in the right paths. I know God is with me and He is always listening.

A guy I went to junior high with (and had almost every class with) just got out of surgery. PRAISE THE LORD. He was shot in the head by the gunman @ the Route 91 music festival. He and his fianceé were both shot, but his was more critical as it was a head injury. She is doing fine, and he has been labeled “critical but stable condition.” Please continue to pray for them. They’re both new parents too… their daughter is only months old. Michael & Summer, we are lifting you up!

Do we underestimate the power of God?

Today I was driving home from the store and I happened to look at the sky. It’s a beautiful day, the clouds are all fluffy and the sky baby blue. It made me think about God and His power of creation. He created everything that we see and the things that we don’t see. The birds, the trees, knowledge, laughter.. all were created by God. That’s power. Last time I checked, I couldn’t create a world or a being. No one can, not like God did. So, knowing all this.. why do we put God in a little box and say what He can and can’t do? The answer is simple, we are human. 

Being human isn’t a bad thing. We all are, we all have our doubts, our ways of thinking. But, God is bigger than all that. We can be given knowledge even being humans. (Proverbs 9:10 “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.”) If we fear (reverence) God and know that He is able, He is mighty, He is greater than anything in this world, that’s when we can realize and be knowledgeable in knowing that NOTHING is impossible with God. Because when you think of all His power, all His goodness, all His mercy... YOU don’t have to worry about how to pay that light bill, God has it. You don’t have to worry about God saving your sister, He’s got it. You don’t have to worry about anything.  

1 Peter 5:6-7 “Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”

HE CARES FOR YOU! If you love God and you serve God.. He sees that. Even if you don’t, He loves all His children. When we are covered in God’s love and mercy.. The power of God is within us and can drive out any evil thing that comes our way. We as Christians, we don’t have to live in a life of fear. We have a ever present mighty God who is constantly reassuring us in His word that we do not have to fear. Fear is not of GOD! Now, hold onto a chair or something because this scripture right here.. is POWERFUL!

2 Timothy 1:7 “For GOD hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” HALLELUJAH! 

It’s not God’s purpose for us to walk in fear. It’s not God’s purpose for us to walk around feeling anxious or depressed or SAD! He wants us to live life serving Him, having joy, boldness, and peace. If you’re feeling a little less than lately, a little tired, anxious, crabby, upset, or anything that’s not God’s purpose.. take a step back and really think about how powerful God is. Once you think, ponder, read the word about all that God did and all He’s going to do for you.. that’s your victory. That’s how we make it through. We put our absolute trust in our powerful God, the only God. 

He’s so good. The main reason I am writing this is to encourage you today. You are a child of the one true king, you are His daughter or His son. You are basically His heir, His CHILD! He loves you each and everyday and He wants you to live fearless and without doubt. Today, take out some time to thank God. Tell Him you love Him. Tell Him how thankful you are that He cares for you and protects you daily. Think about His mighty power today and how nothing is impossible with Him. When the adversary comes (because that devil is stupid and ruthless) make sure the devil knows how GREAT and MIGHTY your God is. Let your knowledge of knowing how powerful God is build your faith and strengthen you everyday. Amen.

Acts 16:25-26 This story reminds us the children of God can rejoice and praise God even in the most disheartening of circumstances.The Bible says, God dwells in the midst of our praises. Sometimes when we pray and praise God, miracles happen. But at other times He says, “I will be with you through this, I have something better in store for you, so trust Me.” The important thing is, He is with us.

Overview/thoughts: Griffin will break your heart and if not, you don’t have a soul. This book is a love story between Griffin and Theo. Unfortunately, Theo has died and you get to read about Griffin going through grief of losing the love of his life. Then, he shows you the past of how they met and got together (hence “history is all you left me”). What I liked most is this book was so real. The grief felt so real and the love. I just felt like I was there with Griffin through it all, he had such a strong voice. Seeing him hurt made me hurt. The story unravels relatively quickly and you find out things that fit together like a puzzle (reference to book if you read it). Just being able to read how this relationship grew and fell apart was moving. I simply loved it. The only thing that got me to reduce my rating from a 5 star was just that I wished some things were better explained. I didn’t like the Jackson and Griffin thing either. Everything else was perfect. Such a great book!

Likes/Favorites: Harry Potter and Star Wars references (Griffin- Harry Potter, Theo - Star Wars), that the book was strongly based on family

Dislikes: Jackson. Maybe controversial, I get the relationship.. I just disliked the character. UNPOPULAR OPINION ALERT.
