to say joanie was scared to tell her best friend (with benefits) the news would be an understatement. she was absolutely terrified. she fumbled with the ends of her dress, her eyes focused on the fabric, as if she was trying to avoid eye-contact with the one person she knew she could fully trust. “erm – so, babe.” she started, taking a deep breath before she continued speaking. “i’m getting married – erm, i’m engaged.” 

noah couldn’t really believe what he was hearing, she was getting married? He swallowed hard and looked down into his lap, trying to gather his thoughts, if only for a moment.. “You-you’re what--?” he muttered as he finally managed to bring himself to look at her, eyes moving from her face, seeing how she wasn’t looking at him, but at her hands as they fumbled around with the fabric of her dress..
