Identity Crisis - Reverse William Clone AU, Part 3 (First Person POV story)

I was about ready to go to bed early. But something deep in my mind prevented me from doing so.

On que, Jeremie called me up on my phone. Feeling like it was urgent, I picked it up.

“William, what are you doing with Aelita?”

Huh? I was confused.

“What do you mean?” I asked. “I am in my room.”

“Wait, you are?” Jeremie asked.

“Yeah I am!”

“Shoot…”

Feeling that this situation is much more severe than I anticipated, I jumped out of my bed. Not even bothering to change out of my pajamas.

I exited out of my dorm room and dashed straight for the others. They were just as surprised to see me in person.

No time to explain and no time to complain, I suppose.

Quickly, Ulrich, Jeremie and I ran towards the factory.

What is going on then?

“Milly and Tamiya told me ‘you’ were with Aelita before suddenly snatching her away…” Jeremie explained.

Huh? What?

“I was in my room the entire time.” I argued.

“I know and I believed you.” Ulrich responded. “But now, we’ll need to find out what’s going on.”

I agreed, this all incredibly bizarre, but it became even weirder when i found out what happened.

Turns out, XANA has made a clone of me… to masquerade as me in Kadic.

This is getting complicated…

Identity Crisis - Reverse William Clone AU, Part 2 (First Person POV story)

My first day as an official Lyoko Warriors member was… interesting.

Jeremie was busy slaving away, rebuilding Lyoko from the ground up.

I still felt guilty, it was me who destroyed the core. But Jeremie reassured me that it was not my fault.

It was XANA’s fault.

But that didn’t reassure me in the slightest.

If anything, I am the one who let XANA destroy Lyoko to begin with. But I don't want to question Jeremie.

After all, he had the knowledge of Lyoko and how the Supercomputer works in his hands.

If he said everything is fine, everything should be fine. I have nothing to worry about.

Jeremie smiled as he told me to pay attention at the holomap.

I did and it was… wonderful. The once empty holomap is now occupied by… the sector 5 map.

Jeremie explained that he managed to recover sector 5 and only sector 5. Jeremie also explained that he has more work to do, but I thought he already did an impressive job at it.

I told him as such, and he was grateful for my compliment. He explains he needs to leave the supercomputer alone for a while.

He needed to rest before working on the other sectors.

Understandable.

Identity Crisis - Reverse William Clone AU, Part 1 (First Person POV story)

I let out a gasp as I felt my body hit a hard floor, my breath hitched, it was hard for me to breathe.

“It’s okay William… you’re back home.”

That voice… Yumi…

Wait, I was back home?

Oh right… Oh no…

I made a mistake, didn’t i?

I was in a virtual world called Lyoko, fighting a giant jellyfish… The next thing I knew everything went dark.

“Hey, it's fine.”

I can hear Aelita’s voice next. Reassuring and comforting as always.

“I’m… i’m sorry…” I croaked out. “I’m sorry…”

I can feel myself mumbling incoherent apologies… But i can’t fight it, i was wrong.

It was a mistake that i did.

But before I could contemplate myself, I felt a hand on my shoulder.

“Hey, it’s fine.” Jeremie reassured me

I looked away from the blonde boy, I ignored his orders, I ignored his warning and I ended up nearly lost to this darn AI’s clutches.

“Jeremie… I am sorry…” I mumbled again.

“It's okay, William, I forgive you.” The blonde boy responded.

I shrunk myself in sadness and misery. Again, it was all my fault.

But Jeremie kept reassuring me that he forgave me…

Do I really deserve it…

Do I deserve his forgiveness after blatantly ignoring his warnings?

I let out a sniffle, my emotions are raw and fragile.

I looked around towards the others.

Yumi, Ulrich and Odd.

To my surprise, they forgave me… But they told me to never do it again.

To always listen to Jeremie.

To which, I gladly accepted…
