I wanted to ask, if I'm shifting and i'm adding my friends characters to my script, do I have to shift with them like group shifting or can i shift alone?

hello love!

when shifting to see people you don't have to group shift. the idea of shifting is that you're going to a world that you've always been, so if you script in your cr friends, they've always lived there, too. no one person belongs to a specific universe. you wouldn't feel the need to group shift with harry potter, right? you just know your friends from this universe, but that doesn't mean they aren't in infinite more.

introducing myself

hi guys i'm idalia. you can call me that or dalia or dali or something like that :) she/her. i wont specify my age but i am above 18

first off all i would like to say that english is not my first language so i apoligize for any mistakes

i started shifting around 2020 after i found out about it on tiktok. i was a typical hogwarts shifter who laid in the starfish position pretty much every day.

now my main dr is a marauders dr without magic and with a little bit of fame and figure skating. which i might go in dept on later

my s/o is and has been remus lupin since 2021 i think.

my most succesfull attempts have been during lucid dreaming. i have not fully shifted yet. idk maybe ive had either a few minishifts or just very weird dreams. in 2020 i wrote my scripts on wattpad with my own experiences as a beginner and even though its really really cringe, if u would like to see it dm me :)

some things about me?

uuh my favorite color is dark red. my nails have constantly been dark red for about 2 years now. i have been playing hockey for about 11 years i think. i like reading even though im in a slump rn. my favorite book is the secret history. my favorite movie is perks of being a wallflower and dead poets society. i want a cat so bad but im afraid that ill be a bad owner plus i have allergies which i dont really care about but yeah. speaking of allergies i have about 12 of them, including one thats lethal. i always have weird obsessions like its annoying to my friends how obsessed i am with things. right now some of these obsessions are marauders ofc, hamilton. jake and johnnie and tara, omg i love dovid bowie, the smiths, i like candles that smell like cotton or linen.

oh and by the way this is kind of my first time on tumblr and i have no idea how it works. like i had so much trouble trying to figure out how to change the color of the letters on my blog help. but ill figure it out sometime.

the shifter urge to both shift to every single book i've ever read but also script them as movies that i star in in my fame drs AND script them as already made movies that i can watch in my waiting rooms

on scripting: mind blocks (pt. 1)

here’s some of the things i do whenever i hit a wall during scripting; i can’t guarantee they’ll work for everyone out there but i do hope someone can make use of these methods

turn on a spotify playlist on discord

personally, i work better if there’s some kind of background noise—no matter if it’s for scripting, schoolwork, or household chores

having something to listen to helps me not just pass time but also let my imagination run free; and listening to a shifting playlist in particular gets me in the mood

i do it when i sleep, when i eat, when i wash dishes, and when i script; as long as it’s there to remind me of my DR, I’m able to engage my mind more fully into what i want

and yes i play music on discord bc ya girl’s a broke ass mf so i can’t get spotify premium, and discord doesn’t play the ads so there’s that

write excerpts of events you’ve scripted

scripting is a lot like writing, and on that thought—write anything you want! from deaths to parties, cults and temples dedicated to you—it’s your story. your reality. reading an excerpt on what happens in there cements that fact

it doesn’t have to be limited to blurbs or whatever as well; you can create poems, essays, and even journal entries for your DR

my friend gave me a planner for christmas and i made use of that by noting down mundane things that happen in my DR, and it helps especially if you really want to record every single thing that happens [if you are going to follow that line action, i suggest you use a time ratio of 1 DR day = 30 CR mins, for better memory retention]

act out scenes you thought of

this one here is easily the most awkward of them all, considering it sounds like acting out wattpad scenes, but it can be very effective if you thought about it

it’s immersive, and can give you a better grasp on how you or others would act/think in your DR; it gives you a hold on personalities and relationships 

draw/sketch

conceptualising is a great way for manifesting, and what better way than to draw?

or, if you’re not too inclined to sketching out places or character designs into much detail (like me), you can always turn to already existing character makers!

I’ll make a pt. 2 to this post, probably like a list of the apps and websites i use for scripting, and some examples of what i did with them

The last shifting motivation I used before I shifted for the first time was that I was in the middle of my math exam, looked at the last question and thought "no reality I identify with would do this to me... wtf is this..." and I shifted during the exam <3

Shoutout to Shifters who aren't certain. Who trust in their journey but still remain open on defining what is "real" or "isn't real" because their DR and CRs are both equally vivid.

A shoutout to people who can see dream and reality as intermingled. Holding hands with each other. Not opposed. Who don't try to construct solid walls around the two. Who are comfortable with being uncertain, but still engage with their shifting journey regardless. A shoutout to people who are okay with saying "I STILL don't know. Maybe both things are true?" even while traveling the multiverse.
