This poster was very difficult for me? Weirdly? I'm trying to learn lighting but picked a poor map for it, oh well! My main concern is learning lighting atm. Then I'll move on to proper scene building so I don't have to worry about map limitations anymore :]

I'm a big bomb voyage fan, so I was like "oh wow. I know exactly what poster to do next" and here we are :] gonna start working on lighting for this tomorrow!

3rd ever poster in sfm! there's definitely things I can improve on/do better (I think BLU scouts wrist looks rather awkward and I'd like to redo REDs eyes) but honestly after almost 6 hours of work I'm good calling this done. I think it's incredibly cute even as someone who doesn't really ship ScoutScout! Gonna do an Engineer poster next :]

Welcome to my 18+ selfship blog!

I'm Starr, a 20 year old majoring in Literature with a history in minor, learning German with plans to learn French. I'm an aroace transmasc (He/It) selfshipper, and also identify under the fictoromantic/fictosexual label. I have been selfshipping for as long as I can remember, but have really only gotten involved in the community at large in 2024.

This blog is dedicated to posting about my fictional others as well as my OC x Canon ships with them. I primarily talk about The Spy from Team Fortress 2 on this blog, and consider him to be on the same level of a real life romantic partner for me. I enjoy expressing my love and dedication to my fictional others by posting long analysis of their personalities, back stories, and relationships to other characters. I also post art that I've received for my OC x Canon ship here!

I selfship with several characters, but my main selfships at the moment are as follows:

The Spy | Team Fortress 2 (20.05.24)

I selfship with every version of Spy. BLU, RED, Tenta, Christian pure, polite, gentle, fem, robot, classic, etc. If they're a Spy, I consider them to be my romantic partner. I place Spy on the level of a spouse and am non-sharing with him under almost every circumstances. I would prefer if other Spy selfshippers interact with my blog, they avoid mentioning Spy to me in any romantic manner.

The Heavy | Team Fortress 2 (02.09.24)

I selfship with RED, BLU, bot, and fem Heavy. I consider Heavy on the same level as Spy, viewing Heavy as my spouse. I am more open to sharing with Heavy, but still selective. Please be mindful of how you interact with me about Heavy.

Starscream | Transformers

All media. I both kin and FO Starscream, and while I have no label for our relationship I often refer to him as my wife. I do not share Starscream.

I have other FOs and will post an entire list eventually!

My main OC for OC x Canon is The Marauder/Mara. She is not a one to one with me, but as someone who struggles to imagine himself in romantic situations and relationships, I don't like doing a direct self insert.

While I'm largely okay with Canon x Canon, the following ships are all ships I tend not to engage with for various reasons: Spy x Pauling, Spy x Scout (obviously), Medic x Heavy, Classic!Heavy x Medic. I would prefer if these ships were not talked about with me.

My DNI is as follows: TERFs, Zionists, transmeds/truscum, pro/com/dark ship, lolicon/shotacon. Minors also DNI, nothing wrong with them I just prefer having a space where I can discuss my selfships in a mature manner.

RED Scout's Ma is Janet, Casimir is Spy, and Jeremy is of course Scout.

Janet was always the one that got away for Spy.

Like I've said before Janet was his first true love, and not only that but she's Jeremy's mother. She's the mother of his child. Spy has a love for Janet that he just can't quite seem to shake. He believes and claims he's moved on from her, they haven't been together in 20 years after all, and he's not a man who gets hung up on his exes.

But Spy neglects, rather intentionally, to understand that Janet isn't an "ex" in the way those he's had flings with are. Janet is more than that. Janet really made Spy a lot of the man he is today, even if he won't acknowledge it. Spy doesn't have the emotional maturity to move on entirely from someone, he's never had to. Janet is the one that got away, his first true love, the mother of his child, and his only regret/mistake.

Casimir allowed himself to be all of him when he was with Janet. He was able to stop being The Spy for the most part and able to just be hers. But unfortunately he was still a spy. There are still aspects of his career that got away. Aspects of his career that meant he, selfishly though I believe with consideration, made the choice to leave Janet and Jeremy when Jeremy was little. He's rationalized this to himself a lot, because Spy can rationalize anything.

Not this though. He's never been able to truly forgive himself for the guilt and regret it stirs up in him (nor should he, not without work at least) and in turn, his feelings for Janet continue to fester and eat away at him. He'll always love her, even when he moves on to a new relationship. This is not to say he doesn't love his new partner(s), or that he views their relationship as inferior. Quite the opposite really. He just loves Janet in a way he can't love anyone else.

Janet really defined his type for him. She's hilarious first of all, there was never a time they were together where she couldn't make him laugh. She's detailed and caring. She could probably take a bullet to the head and live. She's stubborn and strong willed. She's nurturing. She's wise well beyond her years due to being a mother of (at the time) 7.

And Casimir Always wanted to be the one for her. He wanted to break the pattern of men coming in, knocking her up, and leaving. He truly believed he would be too. And then she got pregnant. And that was okay, he could be a father. He's great with kids, after all. Probably a trait she got from helping out with Janet's boys.

But in the end, Spy is a spy. He will always be a spy. And it doesn't matter how badly Casimir wanted to stay. He's self destructive and self motivated. He loved Janet(/Janette) and he loved Jeremy(/Jérémie) but for someone like Spy, that's not enough to stay. It should be, he wishes it was, but he's so dedicated to his job that he just doesn't.

Janet hated him for a long time. I think she did try to give Jeremy a good idea of who his father was though. Gave him his dog tags (as France adopted the usage of military dog tags during WW1 and WW2, and I believe Spy to have been in WW2), told him stories about his father being an international hero, told him how his father was kind and loving and handsome and how Jeremy is so much like him.

And in many ways this really gets to Scout when he meets Spy. because Jeremy isn't as stupid as he makes himself appear. He picks up on Spy being his dad before anyone tells him. It takes awhile yes, but he clearly has an inkling about it. He hates Spy but he does crave a relationship with his father. It's conflicting and eats at him and it doesn't help that every time he calls his ma, she's mentioning spy in really obvious ways, because Janet is not subtle. She's not going to tell Jeremy because she believes it's protecting him but she's not subtle.

Janet defined Spy's taste in women.
