one thing i will say about the will of the many

aside from the fact that i am liking it VERY MUCH!! so far.. is that I am looking up the meaning of a word on at least every 3rd page and this is something i appreciate quite a bit about mr islington's prose. thank u for teaching me the big words u know sir, i WILL be using them.

ok, this is just to say that i really want to try? start a neocities site???? i have ZERO CODING EXPERIENCE OR TIME RN BUT IT SEEMS SO FUN and i like customising things and making them look pretty AND IF I JUST LEARNED TO CODE I COULD MAKE THE CUTEST WEBSITE ... i just dont know how ૮ ◞ ⸝⸝ ◟ ྀིა

BUT LOOKING THRU THE NEOCITIES TAG AND IMAGINING THE POSSIBILITIES SCRATCHES MY BRAAIIIIINNN theres so much creativity and joy out there and i want to contribute to that

i read the sword of kaigen

and i have thoughts. i loved misaki and the mountain, i loved that i can see the crystal clear lake and i loved the horror of the fonyaka..

but i cannot get over takeru.... I CANNOT GET OVER HOW HOW MISAKI ASSUMED EVEN PART OF THE BLAME FOR THE "SILENCE" THAT WAS A PRODUCT OF HIS EMOTIONAL NEGLECT (AND ENABLING OF HER ABUSE) AND I DON'T ACCEPT THE EXCUSE THAT HE DIDN'T WANT TO BREAK HER COZ SHE WAS SUCH A PRECIOUS DOLL??????

LIKE THESE PAGES JUXTAPOSED AGAINST EACH OTHER ARE CRAZY????????????????????????????????????????????? NO MISAKI PLS DONT SAY U COULDA "BROKEN THE SILENCE TOO"???? LIKE U AT LEAST TRIED! U TRIED!!!! ITS NOT LIKE HE JUST CAME HOME FROM A TIRING DAY AT WORK N WENT STRAIGHT TO HIS STUDY HE ACTIVELY ENFORCED THE FULL WEIGHT OF THE PATRIARCHY ON UR ENTIRE RELATIONSHIP (AND ON UR BODY)

i just think that's insane and after everything even tho im happy they reconciled i wish more was done to hold that man accountable. and i admired his apology to her during the duel, and i think he came some ways to being redeemed when all was said and done,, but i do not think at all that misaki shouldve felt the need to apologise for not breaking the silence when even her most desperate attempts to have a present husband were met with disdain. i do see the point made about the burden of his own trauma and how his avoidance was a coping mechanism, and as an overarching explanation i accept it, but when i inspect the small instances of his neglect I cannot stretch it so far as to entirely forgive them let alone shift some of the blame onto misaki. (even though her journey to being a more active participant in her own life is one i appreciate, seeing misaki take ownership of this specific thing was upsetting to me) then again, it's entirely true to life that sometimes people apologise for things they really shouldn't and i liked the two of them finding strength side by side in spite of everything! that was nice! so really the book is still a 3.5/5 to me and that is a good rating.

wish there was a sequel because I want to know what happens with robin. but oh well.

turned 20 and it was a lovely lovely night

she was so smiley the wholeeee time and i ATE with the flowers if i do say so myself. I got up a little extra early and went down to my local florist and asked for the ones i saw her post about and then i cleared out the fridge when i got home and put them in there to stay nice and coooool

and speaking of cooool my fit was so cutieful and i felt pretty too

all in all 10/10 night im the best bestie in the world and i should be given a nobel prize

hellow my room, i am sitting in my actual real life room right now and not writing the essay that i should be writing ૮₍ ˶•⤙•˶ ₎ა so i guess im here to procrastinate, but also to share! a photo that i tweaked soooo much and had fun making colourful and pretty ˙ᵕ˙

this was the original, and I feel like i softened it up plenty and made it cheerier. I miss lightroom so much. its selection tools were top notch and so was its capacity for batch editing ._.

but 20 DOLLARS A MONTH is just NUTS do i look like i'm made of money ?? (answer: no) photomator had a hand in this and all upcoming photos for the next year, its Ok. but great for like 50 a year (i accidentally paid).

i tried turning 20...

and i really liked it :) i spent time with my favourite people and ate at my favourite restaurants and felt very loved the whole time.

and!!!!!!! I GOT TO LIVE MY BIRTHDAY DREAM OF EATING MINI-CAKES INSTEAD OF ONE BIG ONE.

Cake review and ranking: #1 strawberry matcha - this had EVERYTHING a good cake should: a little bit of fruit, the right cream to cake ratio, and a crunchy bit at the bottom! i'm not really a big matcha fan but this was sweet and light and refreshing and i would 100000% eat again. #2 orange red lantern cake - a limited edition cake that should probably be brought on full time, similar to the matcha it had a REAALLLY good balance of textures + sweetness, but the thing that held it back for me is the simple fact that i'm just not that big a fan of orange cake. orange juice? absolutely. but something about oranges in a cake always manages to remind me of potpourri and with how light and creamy this cake was i just didn't quite see the two agree with eachother. nevertheless, i would nom again. #3 pistachoux - it's pistachio butter and vanilla cream in a choux sandwich. that says enough about how yummy it was (very), but after a few bites the pistachio butter on the inside was a bit overwhelming and drowned out the light sweetness of the vanilla cream. #4 lemon tart - just a lemon tart i fear :') but a VERY GOOD lemon tart. it wasn't exactly my cup of tea, despite lemon tarts being in my top 3 cakes, because of its plainness compared to the other contenders on this list, and the white chocolate lemon on top. i do not like white chocolate. but this gets extra points for being more sour than sweet and having a crunchy crust!! #5 traitor lychee - this was supposed to be a frontrunner. i mean, it literally LOOKS LIKE A FLOWER and is pink, it is so cute and adorable. but next to the other cakes on this list? no chance. despite having an excellent balance of texture (like every other cake here), this cake felt confused about what it wanted to be. the lychee flavour struggled against the vanilla cream that surrounded it giving way to a musty/earthy flavour more reminiscent of a wilted rose than a prized bloom. adding to the fervour is the jelly ball on top that despite looking gorgeous, got lost amidst the other textures of the cake, ultimately giving the impression that it had fallen off the side of a bubble tea cart and into the middle of a pastry shop.

review done!!! despite some cakes ranking lower than others they were all super delish and i would eat them again!! (but maybe not the lychee...)
