Cheng Xiaoshi's flower being a daisy which usually symbolises new beginnings and happiness and childhood + Lu Guang's reason for being attracted to Cheng Xiaoshi in the first place being the fact that he was naive (in the sub) or genuine (in the dub) vs. Lu Guang's flower being forget-me-nots which symbolise true love and respect as well as faithfulness and fidelity something something they're simultaneously so compatible and incompatible and now i'm just thinking about the difference between a daisy's new beginnings/ childhood symbolism vs. a forget-me-not's forever faithfulness and hmm maybe there's a reason why we know so little about cheng xiaoshi's childhood and equally little about lu guang's age
