I've been revising my longfic (the draft i finally finished this past nano) since the end of December at a rate of about 2 chapters per month. With 6 down, 11 to go unless I change the splits, I will probably be doing heavy revising for another six months. Really I just want to finish and publish before I turn as old as Morgan is in this. I have time, but I can't dawdle like I did on the draft.

Chapter 6 needed a lot of work. The later chapters centering on the horse bandits traders are some of the chunkiest, but I think they're in a pretty good state compared to others. The chapter with the equine fair needs a lot of work...Cynthia and Laurent's chapters need a lot of work.......ugh I want to be done with it!! Or at least be on line editing!!

I pretty much still like every media I've been obsessed with at some point in my life, even if I don't feel the same passion I once had for it (Pokemon and Danganronpa being examples; I wouldn't really call FE/ToS/SH things I'm "no longer obsessed with" lol), but man do I feel really silly when I think about how much I was into Love Live! I got into it through SIF, which unironically was a really good game, but I'm just sitting here thinking about how many people I knew were really into the anime for itself and actually thought it was good because they were attracted to one of the anime girls or whatever

EIGHT YEARS and 23 days after writing the first 15k on a lark, and two years and 23 days after really picking it back up and working on it in earnest, I have finished the draft. Four nanos went into this, two more successful than the others. (somebody congratulate me!!)

I'm also at 37,935/50k for this month. I have no idea what else to do for the next week.

I am going to rest, and then I am going to edit. I have a lot of rewriting to do, and I even made a little rubric for it this time, but I want to let this just sit for a bit.

I am at the point in the draft where I'm writing scenes I've thought about for years, this feels amazing

I genuinely might finish the draft before hitting the 50k goal. I guess I'll just write something silly after. The majority of Speaking Loudly, Heads Apart was written towards the end of NaNo 2022 when I was fatigued with this longer draft, but I don't think I'll have it in me to write something as serious if I run out of story here.

I had a dream last night in which I was playing or reading about Tales of Symphonia. In this dream-version, Mithos was a temporary playable character when he was with the party, not just an npc. I don't remember what his incognito fighting style was like, but I had distinct memories of using him as much as possible in previous playthroughs despite him ultimately just being an exp sink. The cooking system revealed that his favorite food was cheese

Was writing and I needed a name for a character, so I came up with the placeholder name of "George Ingram", fully thinking it was the name of some minor public figure or existing character that i'd heard of before. Now I'm looking up the name, and there are certainly George Ingrams, but they're just random guys I've never heard of?? Did I read something about the WW1 soldier? Where did I pull this name from

I generally have very detailed, long-running dreams, ranging from the mundane to the fantastical, but usually some flavor of realistically plausible. Sometimes, when I wake up quickly, I can only remember short images or a vague sentiment; but I cannot think of a single night in the past several years where I have had no dreams whatsoever.

Although I don't often have outright nightmares, the most common dream scenario is some sort of minor problem or annoyance that I have to deal with. For example, not too long ago I had a dream that I was hosting some sort of party at my apartment, but two nonexistent acquaintances sat themselves down in my living room and burned all my candles without my noticing. These dreams are pretty much never prophetic, which is usually good.

But. Anyway. Today my brother came over to do laundry. Sat himself down in my living room while I was on my laptop in the back. And guess what
