Finally drew Al’s parents. How I had originally imagined Alastor’s family to be like was different from what I saw among the general fanbase, and I honestly like their approach better.

I really like how my designs for his parents came out (inspired by other fanart I’ve seen). 

I also find the idea intriguing of Alastor living a life with very little struggle; growing up wealthy and with happy and loving parents, to then becoming a famous and successful radio host. I think this life of grandeur, especially during the time he lived in, kinda lends to the idea of Alastor being disconnected to the suffering of others. It’s easy to say “smile”, “buck up”, “you should do better”, etc. when your life is generally served on a silver platter.

But aside from that, these drawings are too cute to me. It’s nice to see just a happy family dynamic with no underlying drama. I can’t get over with how cute the drawing of the family portrait of Al as a kid (in the bottom right corner) turned out! ^w^ ❤️

okay no, what I find absolutely hilarious is the fact that mr laughs at the orphans during the stock market crash 1929 had a whole ass duet about being a wanting/being a father figure to Charlie. Like just from what we have seen Alastor has pretty much had a polite tone to Charlie and their relationship is buisnessy at best with a slight bit of antagonistic remarks (given the new lore alastor seems to be here for multiple reasons but one is definitely for laughs and entertainment). this man could give two shits about being a father figure but he saw an opportunity

an opportunity to not only piss off the big man himself (or well short man) but to get a way with it. Alastor realized this and the motherfucker RAN WITH IT

and honestly good for him it was quite entertaining
