today’s ep hit so hard because it was every part of robert’s character in one. he goes from most romanctic man alive to unhinged scheming menace without warning. the only character ever. echoing everyone else’s thoughts but how tf did we last nearly six years without him?! 😭

i'm fascinated by the switch in the robert & john scenes. robert starts off unable to meet john's eye, body language very much defensive but submissive as john stays calm and in control, and then as soon as there's an opening the power shifts.

robert's mask slips off (or slips on, we know how many he has) and john's left trying to figure out what the hell happened as robert's whole body language changes, and the angrier john gets the more in control robert is.

truly robert playing john to see what he'd do.

god, what a character.
