Ok but you're 100% right that we need to talk about Annabeth getting flustered because of Percy more cause its like my favorite thing in the world and the fandom tends to forget that Annabeth gets totally as dorky about Percy that Percy gets about her.

Annabeth can’t hide her crushes, like remember how much of a mess she was with her puppy crush on Luke? She stuttered, blushed, get the high voice pitch and Percy teased her mercilessly (and she got her payback when she became taller than him and never let him forget that) 

Luke patted Grover’s head between his horns, then gave a goodbye hug to Annabeth, who looked like she might pass out.‘Am not.’After Luke was gone, I told her, ‘You’re hyperventilating.’

“Percy!’ His scarred face broke into a grin. ‘Is that Annabeth, too? Thank the gods! Are you guys okay?’‘We’re… uh… fine,’ Annabeth stammered. She was madly straightening her dirty T-shirt, trying to comb the loose hair out of her face. ‘We thought – Chiron – I mean –”

And while we know she wasn’t subtle when trying to get Percy to hit on her, one of the things we didn’t see but was there were her reactions to Percy, we get small comments of Percy mentioning she blushed or something but she was probably the biggest mess when he wasn’t looking and her siblings probably teased her merciless, I mean come one:

Malcolm grinned at me. ‘We’ll wait outside while you finish inspection.’ The Athena campers filed out the door while Annabeth cleaned up her bunk.

Athena kids might be a lot of things but subtly is not their specialty. Come on the whole camp teased them which would mean they not only saw Percy’s reaction to her but hers as well (that we don’t see because the story is in POV’s) but I’m sure that just like she was a mess with her puppy crush on Luke, she was way, way worse when it came to Percy. How can it be not? How many times she looked at him with heart eyes when he was speaking or teaching a class? How many times she crashed into something because she was checking him out looking at him? She probably started the emails and for god sake, she sent him a picture of her, I would pay anything to read how much of a mess she was, how many times she spent writing and deleting emails, how many times she walked away from him giggling hoping no one saw her (pretty much every camper saw her at some point) Her family knew Percy pretty well when he went to her house

 ‘All right. Go on up to the study and I’ll bring you some food.’ She smiled at me. ‘Nice meeting you, Percy. I’ve heard a lot about you.”

I mean, how many times her family saw her being a mess after a conversation with Percy? How many times Annabeth ended up talking about Percy without her realizing and Mr. and Mrs. Chase sharing a knowing smile because come on, the Chase are not subtle.  

I need more of flustered Annabeth in my life.

The R*cas hug scene was cut, which actually makes sense.

Storyline-wise, anyway.

For starters, during the hug scene Riley called Lucas ‘her bear’—which is already strange because

the bear is faceless and has been since Riley’s childhood.

“A teddy bear is a source of joy and comfort and security and love.”

“Beary was my childhood.”

“Everything I went through, he went through.”

“I lost my childhood…”

A TBH ABOUT MAYA

After watching clips of Maya’s fantasy of being with Lucas, I’ve come up with a lil somethin somethin; what if Maya doesn’t want to live in a world where there needs to be people saving it all the time? What if she has come to terms with the fact that in the real world there will always be people in trouble, people who need saving. Maybe she realizes that she makes mistakes and causes problems that needs to be fixed (aka her pulling the curtain and starting the bomb (most likely bc of jealousy w/ rucas) she realizes that the world is not a fairytale land that Riley thinks it is. Everything can’t be good all the time and she knows that. She believes her and Lucas can take on the world together. The world does need saving, and as in girl meets money, she would like to save it (REALISTICALLY) unlike Riley who yes has good intentions but is still unrealistic about it. Lucas is Lucas the good. Maya tries to be good (FOR HERSELF) but messes up sometimes, which is why she needs Lucas the good to keep her in check. And believe it or not, we all forget that Lucas was once not so good, sometimes he slips up as well. He needs Maya to keep him in check. He also needs Maya to remind him he can be himself and still be good. He doesn’t have to fit anyone’s expectations when he’s with her. Unlike how he has to be with Riley. One slip up and she completely falls apart not worried about how Lucas is feeling but how she will move on from this moment. All I’m saying is, maybe Maya’s fantasy can also be looked at as a way to portray that she knows , based on her past, that people need to be saved and that the world isn’t full of unicorns and rainbows. She knows that and she intends to save it, but she believes that her and Lucas should save it together. — omg I ranted again yikes sorry
