"You gave me zero credit. I'm the one who gave myself the credit." She said before grinning. "Just like I like." Maggie laughed at the image of Viktor with a goatee. "Oh, that wouldn't scare me, but I would laugh every time I would see him. Might hurt his feelings." She grinned at Santiago. "Use us as an excuse any time you need. I'll be on your side. We do need a dinner though soon. It's been so long." @santiagoxpierce

"I can't give you all the credit. Would be unfair to Brady. And besides, you don't age, period." He told her, hand flourish and all. "I don't scare easily. Unless Viktor grows a goatee, that's just wrong." He spoke, his hand back on Freddie's back, giving it a soft pat. "Hey, we definitely won't mind. The more the merrier. Gives me an excuse to make red meat. I'll tell Viktor that Brady asked for it." @maggiexsommers

"Us ladies have to stick together." Maggie said with a grin. "Plus, you know I like taking care of people. Even if I won't admit it." She teased a little, nudging Yasmin a little. "Okay, but is it something you want?" Maggie asked again; wanting to know where her best friend's head was at. "So he doesn't know you may potentially like his brother?" @yasminxansari
Tumblr media
"That was nice of you," though she didn't expect anything else from Maggie. The woman and her family had taken her in when she needed them the most all those years ago and she still felt like she had never repaid them for it. "Honestly," Yasmin laughed softly, almost stumped by the question herself, "I'm not sure, he's so hard to get a read on, I wouldn't even know if he's interested in me." She told Maggie, "Vik knows I know him and that we've seen each other," there was nothing that she could think of that she kept from Viktor. @maggiexsommers

"Yeah? We'd love that." Jeff told him and looked over at Maggie; her nodding in agreement. "We would. Just let us know when and where. If you're sure you're ready for us all. And I mean my kids." She laughed a little bit. "He's gotta know his nieces and nephew sometime." Their dad said. "You got Mags number, right? Text him mine, Magpie, will you?" She nodded. "I will." @noahsinclaxr

Noah gave Maggie a wry smile when she mentioned that her -- their -- brother was fine with it, nodding in response. Guess there was really nothing to stop him from getting to know a new part of relatives. He hadn't thought it'd be this easy, certainly having expected a lot more resistance when he started this journey. It felt surreal. "Nora -- My wife, she does too, she's already suggested dinner at our place sometime soon before the baby comes, if all of you are interested." @maggiexsommers

"And not me? I think I age like fine wine too, but now that I know you don't, I'm gonna have to mark you down." She teased him a little bit. "Good. Just don't blame me if you're reading it and you get scared of something that goes bump in the night." Maggie teased a little bit, but was excited to let Santiago read her book. "You know we'd come over every night if we could. Means I don't have to cook." @santiagoxpierce
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"With his mom's looks and charms and his father's ability to age like fine wine? You bet he will." Santiago mused, gently caressing his hair, watching the boy sleep. "My heart is made of sturdy stuff, I can handle scary." Santiago snickered, He had loved her previous books and knew that she had a certain group of people attracted to her novels. Perhaps it would be like Stephen King suddenly writing a love story, it would certainly stand out like a sore thumb, but he trusted Maggie's writing talent enough to know it would be a hit no matter what. "Thank you, for now you can compare calendars to see when you guys come over for dinner sometimes. With or without the kids, whichever you like." @maggiexsommers

"Me too. I've offered to help his girlfriend with their son if she needed anything. Must be hard when the father can't really help out." Which was something she knew of to a point. It was definitely hard at first when her husband passed away and she was happy to have the support she did. Maggie raised her eyebrow as Yasmin talked and she looked at her curiously. "Do you want it to be romantic? Does Vik know?" @yasminxansari
Tumblr media
"I hope they get better, soon, too," Yasmin told Maggie as the other brunette spoke of Brady's employee being out due to an injury. "Things are good, otherwise," she gave a nod of his head. "Though, I guess I've got someone new in my life and it's not romantic," at least she didn't think so, right now, "but it's complicated and all, with it being Viktor's brother," she paused, "half-brother, I didn't even know he existed until I said something and I don't know," she shook her head, "he's different, I see something in him, but it's complicated." @maggiexsommers

"Yeah. Definitely need to buy a new one. Especially so you can keep supplying me with my coffee addiction." Maggie teased him as she sat down. "Something going on you want to talk about or want me to distract you from first? Lords knows I'm good at both." She asked curiously and took a drink of the tea. "Good. I'm glad you were safe. We were all good. Kids were at my dads and I was at city hall while Brady at the fire department. Brady's brother was hurt pretty bad, but otherwise, we're all okay." @alaricfarrow
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"Fixing it might be a hopeless cause." He spoke, raising his cup to his lips, and it almost sounded as though he was referring to something else entirely. "I might need to buy a new one, after all. It was probably about time anyway." A smile hovered above his lips as Alaric sighed, leaned back in the chair and ease began to slowly take tension from strained muscles. "I'm fine, I just ... couldn't really sleep last night." He spoke, nodding as though to convince himself. It was an itch he couldn't scratch. Something he ceased to seize. Something impalpable that made his mind somber and brought forth a dreadful sense of restlessness. "I was safe, thankfully. I stayed at the animal shelter." Another nod, as he reinforced a soft smile. "And you? How were you and your family holding up?" @maggiexsommers

She chuckled softly and rolled her eyes. "Yeah, well, I'm not about to chase him around the streets of East Haven because he doesn't want to hold my hand." Maggie said while watching Brady get their son out of the stroller and up on the counter to play. "Sounds good. Tell Matt I'll give him an extra hundred to do so." She smiled. "Something he doesn't have to claim on taxes later." @bradylevitt
Tumblr media
Brady gave a chuckle and lifted the boy out of his stroller, though he knew he may regret this if he decided to terrorize the store. "He's a man on the move now that he's walking. He doesn't need a baby stroller anymore do you Freds?" He sat him next to the food on the counter while holding him and handed him a tube of dice. One of the less popular colors, so that it wasn't a big loss if he decided to put it in his mouth or something, hoping to keep him busy for a few minutes. "Well, Matt should be back from his break soon. If it stays dead like this I'm sure it would be okay if we take him to the park for an hour or something and wear him out." Having seen Ricky and Nicole's baby a few times now made Brady miss things about the newborn stages, such as sleeping more and not getting into things. @maggiexsommers

Knowing Brady was working more, Maggie thought she'd surprise him with some food and some time with Freddie. The girls were in school and she knew Freddie wanted to get out of the house, but the second he got in his car seat, he started throwing a fit as well as when she put him in his car seat. She was done with him by the time they entered Critical Roll and she sighed as she walked up to the counter. "Cute is starting to be a thing of the past if this continues." She said and put the lunch she brought him on the counter. "A bit. He wanted outside so I figured coming here would be good, but he's upset he's trapped in the stroller or the car seat." @bradylevitt

Brady was in the office, taking care of some orders for new stock on the computer, while also keeping an ear out for any customers in the front since Matt was taking his break. Ricky was off due to his injury so Brady was putting in some extra time to help out during the day. Although at the moment, it seemed slow. He stood upon hearing the chime of the door opening and went to greet what he thought was a customer, but saw his fiance and their son instead. "Why if it isn't the famous Maggie Sommers. And the cutest little boy in the world." He smiled bending down to his son's stroller, but the baby seemed unimpressed to be in his dad's store. He chuckled. "Little bit grumpy today?" he asked looking up at Maggie.

She rolled her eyes playfully. "Oh, I'm sure he's gonna be a heartbreaker when he's older." She said as she shook her head before she sipped at her coffee. "Unless it scares you too much. I'm hoping to get that effect." She was really hoping that her entry into horror was going to be a good one. So far, her editors were telling her that it was amazing and were praising her on it. Maggie just hoped her readers would too. It was definitely a stretch from the young adult fantasy she had written previously. Hearing about Viktor, she sighed a little and nodded. "If you guys need anything, please let me know. I'm happy to help wherever I can." @santiagoxpierce

"Good. Put those little grabbers to work for the ladies when you're big, eh amigo?" He smiled at the little guy. He missed Valentina's baby days, sad that he didn't get to see it with Joanna. Perhaps one day, but he was already fifty, Viktor in his forties, perhaps that was behind them already. "That's exciting, Maggie. I'm sure I'll finish it in one sitting, as always." He wasn't much of a fiction reader, but he always made an exception for her novels. Those felt more special in some way. "Yeah things are good. Work has been good, aside from my worry for Viktor with his family situation all is well. Melinda didn't look so good when we visited her over the weekend, so I'm hoping that was just a coincidence." @maggiexsommers

"I'm glad you did too." She smiled at Yasmin. The woman was like her sister and she was always glad to see her doing okay. "That's good. Not too serious then. I've heard some people got really hurt. One of Brady's employees are out for a bit because of an injury in the storm." She sighed. "Anyways, how's everything else? How are you?" @yasminxansari
Tumblr media
"I'm glad that you all came out safe," she wouldn't have known what to do if something happened to Maggie or her family. For as much as Maggie had always been there for her, she was Yasmin's family too. The only family that she had left. "That's good, I'm glad," she sighed a breath of relief that even their home did not withstand any damages. "I did stop by the hospital later that night and he had been discharged, so I'm guessing he's doing better than how he seemed before getting to the hospital." @maggiexsommers

She saw Noah look at her and she rolled her eyes before smiling. She knew more than well she'd be hearing that nickname come from him one day instead of just her dad. "He's fine with it." Maggie chimed in. "I've talked to him." She assured him and her father smiled. "Of course you did. Always taking care of things." Jeff said and Maggie put on a little smile. It was always her job to take care of things. "My wife understands all t his too. Mag's stepmom." He said. "Good. Then we'll do just that." @noahsinclaxr
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Noah turned to face Maggie when her nickname was revealed, making a mental note to bring it up when they were definitely on the chummier side with one another. Though, he definitely wouldn't forget. The important was that Jeff did want to form a relationship, which he had hoped for. He had yet to break it to his parents, but that was a concern for the future. "As long as the whole family is okay with it. I've been told you have a son -- your brother." He said to Maggie afterwards, not yet having met him, and didn't know how he felt about the whole thing. "But yeah, I'd like that." @maggiexsommers

"You're welcome." She smiled at the woman. Hearing her own name come from the woman's mouth, she smiled and nodded. "Well, I'm glad you're enjoying it. I hope he told you it's a series of books so there's more than just that." Maggie smiled. "But I am glad you're enjoying it. I'm Maggie Sommers." She introduced herself to her. "I'll leave you be, though. It was nice meeting you and let me know if you have any questions." She said and wen to go sit. @veritywagner

“Thanks.” Verity had chuckled softly before pulling both feet in underneath herself in order to hopefully avoid something similar to happen again. “Oh —“ She closed the book slightly in order to flash its cover, “it’s from this local author.. Maggie Sommers.” She began to explain. “I met her husband, I think, at the book store, and he recommended it to me.” She added. “It’s pretty good so far. And considering I haven’t read a book since high school, it says a lot that I’m still going.”

"You really need to get it fixed." Maggie said and smiled over at him. She wasn't much of a tea drinker and always had preferred coffee, but for now, tea would be fine. "Everything okay? You look tired." She said; growing concerned for her friend as they sat in his kitchen. "You were alright during the storm, weren't you?" @alaricfarrow

Sleeplessness had burdened him and the dark circles underneath his eyes spoke volumes. East Haven still felt foreign in certain aspects, and certain aspects alone. The town still seemed to be in recovery, the storm's aftershock still lingering in the streets and Alaric couldn't shake the feeling things felt different. Somehow. Unable to link this dreadful sense back to anything in particular, it was comfort he sought in familiarity. In the company he had always felt more at ease in. Setting a cup of tea down in front of Maggie, he sat down in the chair adjacent to hers. "Sorry," he began with a sigh, rubbing his tired eyes before folding his hands around his own mug. "I would have offered coffee, but ... you know. My coffee machine is still broken."

"Good. I'm glad." She said and looked at his arm before nodding. "I can't imagine. I'm glad I didn't hit your arm." She said, happy that things had went this way instead of the other. "Did you get hurt in the wind storm?" She asked curiously, knowing there was quite the few that did. @oliver-hensley

Oliver was heading into the city hall to file some paperwork about the injury that he had obtained during the storm that took place. He was about to head into the building and that's when the door whipped open and almost smacked him but luckily he was able to move out of the way before it actually did. "No, no. It's okay! Don't worry I'm all good!" He laughed softly. "That could've been real ugly and I don't need my arm hurting anymore than it already does." He said, referring to his arm in the sling. @maggiexsommers

Hearing for herself the time was a blur for her father father was nothing new. She knew it was and Jeff Sommers had been a recovering alcoholic and addict since the 90s. She was certain he didn't remember half of Maggie's childhood. She just gave Noah a shrug and let the two talk. When Noah called him sir, he shook his head. "Call me Jeff. Please." He insisted before letting the man continue and shaking his head. "I didn't think you were. Magpie said you weren't the type." Maggie's cheeks blushed a little at the nickname and she rolled her eyes. "But I would like to get to know you. If it's something you want." @noahsinclaxr
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Noah grinned at the man's joke, giving him a nonchalant shrug as if he learned all by himself. Hearing that time was a blur for him made him look at Maggie for a moment, not sure if she could find herself in that explanation. But if he recalled her explanation about him on tour, how it often ended up like so he wasn't surprised. He thought about cracking a joke about there being more siblings out there, but he resisted. "That's what my mother said when I inquired." Noah answered, a wry smile on his lips until he took a breath. "Sir, just to set the record straight. I'm not here because I want something from you, given your success and all. I just.. Wanted to see the face or well, faces." He explained, looking at Maggie once more. "But if you have no interest in getting to know me, I fully respect that." @maggiexsommers
