Khal had thankfully been in the country the whole time he was gone. But it was still a large distance so it took some time to get back home safely. But in his current condition, it took a long time to book the needed flights, car rides, and such. Most commercial ways of travel didn’t allow him in the vehicles because of all the blood so he had to call in a few favors. By the time he got home, he was delirious and pale from all the blood loss.

Khal tried to dress the wounds as much as he could but he wasn’t exactly knen for his ‘healing touch’, especially on himself. He had a couple bullet wounds, thankfully they went straight through but the slash and stab wound on his side was what worried him the most.

Going up the stairs or the elevator was out of the question so to avoid anyone seeing him or leaving blood in the more public areas, Khal lifted himself up the fire escape up all ten stories and thankfully, they were so high up they didn’t latch the balcony doors that often. But as soon as he stepped into the apartment, he stumbled about, trying to catch himself on a side table but he ended up just collapsing onto the floor, too weak to get himself back up.

Their little life was pretty great, Khal made plenty of money from his job as well as the added income from Rei’s own job. Khal has insisted that the other man doesn’t have to worry about making a living but alas Khal wasn’t able to convince him.

Speaking of jobs, Khal’s own sometimes has him away for weeks. It was t too terrible. He was always able to make calls every few days to Rei. But he’s never had a job where he couldn’t. Or a job that was over a month long. But this time, Khal has been away for nearly two months. The only time he has called was a couple days after he had left.

“It’s just a checkup. Don’t worry” the elf stood up and offered a hand to Dutch. If he didn’t take it he wouldn’t care too much. He’s somewhat grown to learn that Dutch doesn’t always want contact with him or other people.

“I’ll just be checking your arm and a few other simple things. How has your diet been? I know it can be hard to eat sometimes for anyone who had gone through what you have.” Luto kept his voice low so only he and the other man could hear as he began to lead them both upstairs to where Dutch stayed.
