What if the reason Kyoko was acting so erratic towards Sayaka when they first met was BECAUSE Mami had died? Kyoko left Mami behind because she was afraid that being by Mami's side would get her killed, right? But Mami died specifically BECAUSE she had no one by her side. Kyoko could've been there. She could've saved her "sister" but she ended up running away and causing excatly what she hoped to prevent... and she probably asked Kyubey HOW Mami died... and Kyubey, being Kyubey, told her flat out. Causing Kyoko to double down on ALL her worst coping mechanisms. But watching Sayaka go through all her same mistakes, pushing away Madoka, making a wish for someone else who will never appreciate it, etc. It woke her up. It made her realize just how much she messed up, and while she couldn't fix her past, she thought she could at least save Sayaka. And maybe just maybe that would be enough to save her too in some way? To forgive herself?

After spending more time with each other, yes! She'd notice that Kyoko and Madoka are close, and be relieved that Kyoko is surrounding herself with better people, though probably feel a tinge of jealousy for Madoka. Despite that she warms up to her quickly.

I had the idea that Mami would reunite with Kyoko through Hitomi, who invited her to a get together that Sayaka was hosting. Kyoko was invited by Madoka after spending time working at the shelter togerher. There would be a lot of tension when Kyoko and Mami see each other again after all those years.

Madoka works part time in a homeless shelter while she completes her veternarian course. She is single and interested in Kyoko. Used to date Homura in highschool, but they had a bad break up. Madoka has experience dating and was forward with Homura, so she is more forward than Kyoko is. Hopeless gay.

Kyoko is part of a gang but also works at the homeless shelter. They helped her out when she was orphaned after her father killed her family. Has an under cut and is quite butch. Single, is interested in Madoka, and still a bit interested in Mami, but mostly wants to make up with Mami after abandoning her. At first she suspected Madoka and Sayaka were dating, then became jealous over Madoka still having feelings for Homura. Somewhat tsundere, not as forward as Madoka. Major lesbian.

Sayaka and Madoka are room mates and have been friends since elementary along with Hitomi. She has a baseball scholarship. Used to have a crush on Kyosuke but has been over it since highschool. Single and not interested in anyone, has a friendly rivarly with Kyoko. She is protective over Madoka, and had a bit of a crush on her in middle school as well.

Hitomi was dating Kyosuke but they broke up recently. Has liked Homura since middle school when she transferred. Bisexual but was in complete denial as a teen, started dating Kyosuke bc she was upset Homura started dating Madoka, but developed genuine feelings for him. Friends with Mami through uni, doing a business degree. Single.

Mami is doing a fashion degree, had a mutual attraction to Kyoko in early middle school when they were friends, before Kyoko's father committed homicide. Friends with Hitomi, has also been orphaned around the time Kyoko stopped being friends with her. Doing a fashion degree. Very lonely.

Homura comes back into Madoka's life later pursuing her again. They broke up due to Madoka never prioritsing Homura/giving to others too much (Homura was also too possessive). Homura no longer wears braids or glasses and is much more firm and bold now. Single.
