In my honest opinion, I think Riven & Musa made a lovely couple in season 2 & even more so in season 3. Riven seriously grew & matured as a person after he learned the truth about the Trix - he realized who his true friends were & did his best to redeem himself in their eyes. He learned to trust the people around him & how to give encouragement & comfort when it’s needed. Those weren’t easy things for Riven because they were all new concepts for him - & wasn’t that the point of his story? What came easy to the other specialists didn’t come easy for him & that made it difficult to fit in & find his place among his group. That’s the reason Musa was the first person he could show the most raw side of himself to, because she was the only one who accepted him the way that he was.

That’s why their story touched my heart & also why I think the writing for season 4 was absolutely miserable. Musa’s character was great because she was smart & intuitive & noticed things that her friends didn’t. So why is she suddenly oblivious to her own boyfriend’s feelings in season 4? It’s as if Winx’s writers forgot that they had initially written her as a people person. They didn’t even give her enough credit to realize when her boyfriend was trying to do something nice for her.

Musa knew who Riven was as a person - the good parts & the bad. She pursued him. She chose him. She knew his fears of abandonment & his struggle with bunching up like an angry hedgehog when he feels he’s being threatened. Yet the same series would have me believe that as Musa pursues a career in music she doesn’t bother to tell Riven what her intentions with it are (or give him any inclination that he still holds an equally important place in her life) & proceeds to drop him like a day-old pancake? Then attempt to make Riven look like the problem for acting childish when she doesn’t take his insecurities seriously? Despite them having worked through all of that immature junk in the previous seasons?? Yeah, right.

The writers threw away Riven & Musa’s relationship & character development for the sake of drama & I have no respect for that.

So in my own little world as a past Winx viewer, Riven & Musa continue growing together as maturing adults & all of that crap after the thrid season never happened. 😁
