The beard is magic cus it's absence deages me 5 years (or it's presence adds 5 years?), and having it gives me +3 to Authority checks among children and teens. This was more relevant when I made this account as a teen.He/him, Aro/ace

what annoys me about explaining evolution to people who don’t think it’s real is that everyone’s idea of how it works seems to be from this

Whereas the reality is far more like

This 1000 year old Katana looks as good as it did the day it was made. [3746x3024]

(Preface featuring multiple things that are true at once: 1) I'm not planning on watching new Harry Potter, it's a shameless cash grab rehash from the studios, and for JKR personally it's half that and half to get new actors playing the main three because the older ones are good people (pro-trans) 2) dear god I hope they protect those children from the internet regardless 3) hopefully we're at the point, culturally, post MeToo, where every body agrees the "countdown until Emma Watson turns 18" was beyond gross. Right? Even though there are always going to be assholes on twitter, we aren't going to be that bad anymore right? Guys?)
Actually, new Hermione isn't black ENOUGH

I so desperately want to be able to convince Trump supporters with facts and logic and empathy, but it’s so important to remember that their ignorance is INTENTIONAL. my mom didn’t let us watch Sleeping Beauty growing up. I asked her why recently and she said, “it was evil.” when I pointed out other movies had similar themes and depictions of evil, and asked what the difference was, she couldn’t. I pressed one more time and she just said, “it felt evil to me. I didn’t like it”. same thing with dune 2: she said it was “dark”, and I was, “literally, like the movie’s lighting? Or the themes?” and she said “I don’t know” and didn’t want to talk about it more. many conservatives genuinely cannot tell the difference between “I don’t like it” and “this is evil” and they do not care to learn despite many chances

A wizard is never late, not is he early. He arrives precisely when he intends to arrive. I was stuck in a long line at Taco Bell though.

It comes from people hearing about "woke pope" Francis and how Leo does seem like he'll continue in that direction, but were ignorant enough about the Catholic church to not recognize that calling the Pope progressive is a VERY relative statement. But trust me, there were way worse possibilities.
Everyone's like "The new Pope isnt welcoming to gay people and has covered up child abuse" like. Fork found in kitchen?

Because Catholicism and by extension Christianity are so big and normal I don't think a lot of people consider how strange the Vatican is just conceptually. Like yeah in the capital of a long-dead empire there's an opulent temple district that acts as it's own sovereign nation, still speaking the dead language of that empire for their rituals, ruled by a prophet-king chosen by a secret conclave of the high priesthood. Yeah his followers eat a lot of fish in the spring.
