The destruction arenas are definitely more fun than racing, but don’t capture the spirit of competition that the mini games do. The true fun lies in that aspect of the game. The more I raced, the more I longed for more mini game, multiplayer modes. Establish and early lead and you’ll likely breeze through the race and win with ample time to spare get stuck at the start line, however, and you’ll likely never catch the leader, even if you race extremely well. What makes this mode more frustrating, however, is that there doesn’t seem to be any consistency in the AI opponents. With only a few environments to race in, and what seems like reused track sections over and over again for ‘new’ tracks, there wasn’t a whole lot drawing me back into the smash-em-up racing mode. My enjoyment of Flatout stopped once I hit the racetracks, however. As this is not the norm, I really appreciate the developers including this feature. The fact that Flatout 4 offers this local alternative is really important for myself, as I tend to play most of my multiplayer games locally with friends and family. These games can be tackled either in solo play – which pits you against the best in the world with the online leader boards – or locally, in a pass-and-play situation. The rag-doll physics mini games are better than ever, and Flatout 4 doesn’t disappoint when playing games of curling, beer pong, and much, much more. Flatout 4 is an enjoyable experience, but won’t be for everyone. When compared to other Flatout games in the franchise, the fourth iteration does a great job to cleaning up some of the problems present, but also introduces a few new ones. To say that a number of the previous Flatout titles were a disappointment would be an understatement, so heading into Flatout 4, I wasn’t particularly enthusiastic about what I was about to play.

It took nearly 5 min for a 15sec video to start playing. The playback of the video files is insanely slow. I know the cameras were working, as I could see the thumbnail image of the captured video. I was able to get the network to show up only after setting it to 5ghz and specific channel. I set the WiFi to 2.4ghz and could not see it on my phone. And here is my other gripe: the recent firmware update suppose to “improve” WiFi modem operations. To be fair the app is still useful to manipulate camera settings and review and download files if you get the WiFi to work. I wish there was a way to go back to the previous version.

I’m still breaking in the car so I haven’t gone more than a full day without driving it but the battery always shows 100%. So IMHO the 900 bucks or so for the Antigravity battery was well worth it along with the battery monitor. That was the my “oh crap I don’t want to go through this again and I’d be really screwed if the trunk was closed” moment. Since my installer and I are both OCD we followed the instructions to the letter and didn’t jump start the car and removed the battery and trickled charged it. I found that out when my car was being Xpel’d and tinted. My car is new and with the OEM battery if the doors and trunk were left open battery would be dead the next day. I did the 60AH Antigravity battery and it was def worth it. If you can justify the extra expense, this is the way to go. If I was one to lay the car up across winter, I'd still want to keep it on a charger but given my usual use patterns, I no longer feel the need to keep the car plugged in. Given that I routinely drive my car all year round and generally run it at least weekly, this means that plugging into a charger has now become strictly optional for me. After just a week or so, it would start the car but also pull the voltage down to the point that the radio would "de-program" some of its settings or display other characteristics of a low voltage start up situation, loss of camera function, etc. This was not possible with the Varta battery my car was delivered with. In other words, it's possible to leave the car for several weeks at a time and still return to a functioning vehicle that starts without incident. In that time the battery settled from 98 to 83% of charge and retained 13.4 V as its resting voltage with ample cranking power retained as well. We were out of town between August 4 and August17. The weight benefit is of course easy to quantify but how long can you let the thing rest without being on a trickle charger? I learned that two weeks is not a big stretch for this battery. The first of course is the loss of over 20 pounds of lard, the second being how this battery would tolerate not being kept continuously on a charger as had become my habit with the OEM Varta. I was interested in the usual two benefits touted for this tech. With the monitor, you always know exactly what the battery's condition is. I included their blue tooth enabled monitor in my order as well and highly recommend getting that if you are thinking of making the switch to a LiPo battery such as this. There is also a 60 AH option for those who really want a lot of juice but I decided 40AH was adequate for my situation and habits. I installed a 40AH (H6-Group 48 replacement) Antigravity battery in my car about a month ago.

You’d need to combine this with adjusting the circle counts to get the right number to fill the surface well. This will probably naturally result in a bit of a gradient, with the smaller circles collecting near the base and the big ones rising to the top. Think of it a bit like vibrating concrete after pouring to reduce gaps and bubbles. One thing you could try that I think could be more effective than changing the random seed with Galapagos (which doesn’t really give any advantage over just brute force testing many values, because there’s no continuous variable being optimized) is to use the regular solver and jiggle the size multiplier by small amounts above/below 1.0.
