todays twilight zone animal is… SWORDFISH✨

swordfish have a maximum size of 14 feet and can weigh 544.311 km, they live in tropical, temperate, and sometimes cold waters of the Atlantic, Indian, and Pacific Oceans, they eat a bunch of different fish and invertebrates like squid

THE CARIBBEAN REEF SHARK✨✨✨✨

the Caribbean reef shark is 198.12cm-304.8cm long, lives near coral reefs in the Caribbean and off South America, and eats reef fish, along with cephalopods and crustaceans

Todays sea slug is the….

GLAUCUS ATLANTICUS!!!!!!!

These slugs are 3cm (less than 1in) long, they eat other pelagic creatures, these include the Portuguese man o' war and other venomous siphonophores, they live on the surface of the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian oceans in temperate and tropical waters, and they live for 1 month to a year

(If your stung you could experience nausea, pain, vomiting, acute allergic contact dermatitis, and post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, so be careful!!)

Today is Tuesday so that means it’s…

TWILIGHT ZONE ANIMAL RECOGNITION TUESDAY‼️‼️‼️

Todays twilight zone animal is the deep body boarfish! This fish is 50m-900m in the Atlantic Ocean, they can reach up to 30.5cm, but most don’t grow past 15cm, their predators are pollock, bass, and cod, and they live on sandy areas near weed edges/weed lines

This weeks sea creature is the Angel shark ‼️

Angel sharks are 152.4cm long (5ft), they eat bony fish, and demersal animals, such as skates, crustaceans, mollusks, and cephalopods, they live mainly on sandy/muddy inshore water areas, and their predators are great white sharks, the broadnose sevengill shark, northern elephant seals, and humans

Todays sea slug is a very adorable and very beloved slug, this is the…. SEA BUNNY!!!

These slugs are 2.5cm (less than a inch) long, they mostly eat sea sponges but are also known to eat algae, seagrass, and other small creatures, they are in the J. parva species, and sadly only live for a few months up to a year

Today is Tuesday!! Sooooo yk what that means, TWILIGHT ZONE RECOGNITION TUESDAY!!!!!!

Today’s twilight zone animal is the helmet jellyfish, their technically not fully apart of the twilight zone but they do retreat back to it when they detect the suns rays

These jellyfish are approx 20cm long, and they eat shrimp, copepods, krill, ostracods and juvenile fish, their main predators are fish and sea turtles

devil fish or giant devil ray are a species in the mobulidae family, they are 3.5 meters long and feed on plankton and small schooling fish, it’s main predators are sharks and killer whales, but it’s death is sadly usually by humans

ITS SEA SLUG SUNDAY ‼️‼️‼️‼️

Todays sea slug is the berthelline delicata, also known as the gumdrop slug

These sea slugs are native to Hawaiian water, and can be solid orange all the way to yellow, their maximum size (as of current) is 57mm

Their also super adorable

SO THE ACTUAL DAY IS FRIDAY SO THAT MEANS…..

OCEAN FACT FRIDAY‼️‼️🙌🙌‼️‼️🎉🎉

Ocean fact #1, we have only explored approximately less than 5% of the ocean

Ocean fact #2, once you get to the deeper points in the midnight zone the pressure is enough to crush a soda can, that’s why all the animals, such as blob fish, always look crushed

Ocean fact #3, the reason the ocean is blue is because water is blue, but you can only tell in large amounts, just like how glass is green

Ocean fact #4, bikini bottom from SpongeBob is based off a real place where the government tested nuclear weapons on under water, the characters are supposed to be mutated by radiation

Ocean fact #5, there’s more life in the ocean than anywhere else in the world

(Despite my name being mako shark lover lol)

So this post will simply be pictures and facts about whale sharks :)

Fact 1.) whale sharks are the largest existing fish species

Fact 2.) despite the name whale sharks are not actually whales at all, the name is simply from their size being similar to that of a whales

Fact 3.) whale sharks are safe to swim with, they mostly ignore humans but it would still be an unforgettable experience, the only danger you would encounter would to be to close to their tail and getting smacked which could be dangerous

Fact 4.) whale sharks are mostly vegetarians, even though their names include shark these creatures don’t eat large prey, they stick to plankton, different forms of sea plants, and small fish.
