Palestinians don’t see the moon from jail cells and prisons. It’s so beautiful, the moon. They’re so beautiful, the flowers. I pick flowers for my dead father when I’m sad. He watches Al Jazeera all day. I wish Jessica would stop texting me Happy Ramadan. I know I’m American because when I walk into a room something dies. Metaphors about death are for poets who think ghosts care about sound. When I die, I promise to haunt you forever. One day, I’ll write about the flowers like we own them.

my (cis) brother is using my old license to buy wine and it has the gender marker F on there. so whenever he gets asked he just says “oh i’m trans”. its literally worked every single time.

The thing about Neil's mistrust of Betsy is that unlike most fictional characters who dismiss psychologists, Neil doesn't write off her profession as quackery, nor does he consider himself well adjusted.

Neil knows he's fucked up. He knows his personality is paper thin, just another layer of papier mâché that he has spent his life trying to keep anyone from cracking open and seizing the calcified corpse of Nathaniel within.

Neil's existence hinges on total control over his own identity and being able to reinvent it on a dime. The idea that someone not only can, but in fact has made a professional career out of wresting that control away from him, cracking open the layers of paper and glue and not reaching for the center but making him look, is nothing short of a death sentence.

chim and hen are platonic soulmates and I feel like we don’t talk about it enough. “You jump, I jump.” He dies and gets shocked back to life twice and the first thing he does is crawl to her?? The love of his life goes missing and she offers to leave with him to find her?? They tell each other literally everything? She helps him pick out Maddie’s ring even though she doesn’t think they’re ready to get married. She’s his best man. He set her up with her wife. He told Karen that Hen DIED to get them back together. They’re at each other’s houses at all times of the night. They believe in each other’s crazy conspiracies with no hesitation. “I can’t imagine my life without you” “and you’re never gonna have to”. They commit crimes together.
