The whole lead up to this end scene is so...sad. Seigi is so open with wanting to spend more time with Richard, and so clueless that thats what Richard wants that more than anything, but Richard knows it's Tanimoto that Seigi is truly after despite all the constant ridiculous compliments Richard keeps warning him about making about himself. They dig into Richards heart, and it tears at him knowing it's just how Seigi is, knowing Seigi doesnt mean them in the way Richard wished he did. He can't spent time with Seigi while he's with Tanimoto at the after party, he can't face it. So he runs.
