With today's exercise I wanted to work on the little things that make a face different from another, so I wanted to draw two actors that I find very similar.

And, well, it was also a good excuse to go back to Doctor Who 😁

So, here are Jon Pertwee and Peter Capaldi, my two favourite doctors 💙

(One day, I will manage to draw Capaldi's smile accurately. Yes I will!)

Twelfth Doctor of Easter!

I wanted to draw something cute for today, with the Ninth Doctor and Rose, but, well... Capaldi's creepy grin in the Lie of the Land dug a hole in my brain and refused to leave so... This happened.

I had... way too much fun working on this.

Totally worthed the almost 4 hours I have spent on it 😁

I thought I would share today's page from my daily practice!

Sketchbook day 10: a redraw of a still from "Marco Polo", 4th story of the first season of Doctor Who

Time: 2 hours

I kinda regret doing Barbara, because she was very blurry on the still and I just couldn't understand how her hands were placed, or how to draw her face. But I'm not unhappy with how everything else turned out. Even if they clearly don't look at Ping Cho and there's a lot of other little problems here and there.

I may come back to it digitally one day... Who knows.

Yep, still trying to find "myself".

I wanted to try different approaches, a sketchy one with pencil-like tools, and a more clean one with ink.

I can't say I'm completely satisfied because I'm not nearly where I wanted to go, but I don't dislike them. In fact I quite like the two versions with just lines, and I find the B&W and colourized versions of the pencil-like ones pretty okay.

I only have a real problem with the last two, they are too... bland. Too clean. But then again, I can't say I dislike them either.

So, there's still a lot of work to do but I'm getting there, I feel like I am starting to really enjoy what I do.

Anyway, no fandom today. I was afraid I would butcher this attempt so I didn't want to draw anyone I like, and even less anyone you could like.

So... that's me. And, yeah, I know... but those last few days had not been the most fun for me, so... yeah. And I wanted to work on my expressions for some time now, so it was a good opportunity to learn.

It's the first time I try something like that and it was very fun to make 😄

Under the cut is an AU version I wanted to try too, and the original drawing for the challenge.

I'm obsessed with the idea that the Supreme Archangel Aziraphale choose to jump and become a demon, and his animal is an octopus. With demonic ink seeping out from his fingers, so as long as he can't control it he won't be able to touch a book again - even with gloves, because of course the ink goes through them, however thick and impervious they are... The angst war may have some responsibility for all of this

(But obviously Crowley doesn't stop searching and working until he manages to gift him very special gloves.)

Dans Thistlewood Lane, la maison voisine de celle d’Aziraphale est vide depuis un bon moment. Il espère voir arriver une jeune et gentille famille, ou bien une personne avec qui il pourrait s'entendre. Ses attentes sont réduites à néant lorsqu’un véhicule débarque à toute allure dans sa paisible rue résidentielle, beuglant une odieuse musique à plein volume.

Aziraphale s’apprête à exposer sa façon de penser au grossier personnage, quand il découvre, un peu désarçonné, que son nouveau voisin est plutôt séduisant. Cela ne change cependant rien à la situation : gardant chacun une mauvaise première impression de l’autre, ils se lancent dans une véritable guerre de voisinage.

A quand le cessez-le-feu ?
