In regards to updating designs for the new year I was thinking more like they use slightly changed designs going forward, no changing old ones, and not changing anything that needs new rigging, yknow?

Eye shapes can be changed a bit without changing the rigging by editing the eyelash texture and they could be given new hairstyles bc they're already rigged on a case-by-case basis. Could even just take a preexisting alt hairstyle they have and use that as the new default.

yeah i guess so , it still seems a little unnecessary but i can sort of see where youre coming from.

I think part of the reason why I love enstars is the amount of characters that I can read as schizo and it makes sense (but honestly any number above one I consider wonderful) . Madara kinda( I see him as having stpd). Nagisa is more autistic but who says he can’t be both. Mayoi. Its wonderful.

same its so important to me to see realistic and respectful depictions of schizo disorders since there are so many tactless or even entirely wrong representations of it . mayoi obviously has stpd ppd and schizophrenia, and madara could easily be read as having stpd and schizophrenia as well, but less obviously. i like that madara and mayoi dont express stpd traits the same way since in real life the same disorder can look vastly different between people . i also hc both of them as AuDHD (but there arent that many enstars characters i dont hc as either autistic adhd or both lol) nagisa is definitely autistic no doubt but he never really stood out to me as having any kind of schizo disorder ? he does have generalized psychosis tho im sure of that

my fav hc regarding madara and mayoi both having stpd is that the reason madara immediately clocked mayoi as a rival is because he took one look at him and went "this island aint big enough for two schizophrenics"

sorry trans rinne anon back with something i forgot to add in my original ask: rinne is definitely a name he chose myself i think.

to be clear: yes, it is a gender neutral name. however. i am saying this because, to quote enstars wiki: "The first character in Rinne's first name, 燐, means phosphorus, which is associated with phosphorescence, Hell, and ghostly creatures."

i did so much research and i could only find one other example of "rin" in a name spelled that way, and it was another edgy anime character, being discussed on a blog post that even said outright "no parent in their right mind would name their kid that." plus, we know amagi village is pretty strict with traditions and rules and stuff (hiiro's name already caused problems just by using 一/"one" for the second kid, can you really imagine them naming their heir/future leader something like that?)

rinne, on the other hand, was a rebellious/edgy teenager, of fucking course he'd give himself a cool evil-sounding name who do you take him for

as for the second half of his name, 音, that means "sound" which like. obvious name for a kid who wants to be an idol

(bonus trans hiiro note: when chiaki tells hiiro "wow, your parents must really love you!" hiiro is just kinda like "? iguess?" like he doesnt get what they have to do with it. personal hc this is because he came up with his name himself. better yet, rinne helped him come up with it, which is why he purposely picked the "one" kanji to piss off the other villagers)

i can definitely understand rinne choosing his own name, even outside of a trans context . it wouldn't be hard to say that he changed his name when he went to the city as a way to disconnect himself from his village and symbolically start on a clean slate .

hey sorry im bringing up an ask thats about a week old but re: rinne amagi transmasc thing:

the whole "going against your family's expectations/leaving your home and becoming who you want" could be read as trans metaphor (so could his old more fake persona of "good guy idol" vs his current "fuck you i do what i want attitude" come to think of it)

when it comes to rinne calling niki wife, its not funny if nikis transmasc and rinne isn't it just feels kinda mean tbh. however trans dude calling cis guy wife is funny (better yet: niki transfem/nb egg. rinne is chipping away at that shell more every day)

i like the idea of both amagis being transmasc, fic i havent posted yet but follows this general plot with little amagi bros: "hey im a boy now" "woah thas so poggers,,, i wish i could do that" "Boy Do I Have News For You"

its actually not a hc ive seen that much compared to other trans hcs, fics with trans rinne are few and far between. and i think there should be more

yeah i can sorta see where youre coming from . i hc niki as transmasc agender and rinne as cis*. theres nothing wrong with using feminine terms for a transmasc person as long as theyre comfortable with it. i think niki is fine with it but only if its rinne, because he knows rinne doesnt see him as a girl and is using it as a term of endearment rather than a method of degrading him. so its something of a pet name for them rather than a word that means something . as for fanfics i wouldnt know cuz i only read doujinshi (i hate reading anything without pictures)

* hes cis by definition but his relationship with his gender is more complicated than this. a better term might be "cis+" if that makes any sense. i hc a lot of characters this way

I'm the same age and birthday as Nagisa. It's important to note that his birthday is at the end of the year so I think it's more accurate to say he's 2003 and not 2004 bc his birthday in game/story hasn't happened yet

I'm happy everyone's growing up!! But a bit disappointed that their designs don't change,,,

it would be cool if the designs did age, but its not practical. it would be REALLY difficult to update everyones design. all the 3d models would have to be edited and possibly re-rigged depending on what the edits were, the live2d models would have to be updated as well, and theyd all need new 2* unit cards . thats almost remastering the game entirely . it was only realistic to update yutas design because it was just him getting a design update . its a good thing they arent getting this ambitious cuz the art team would have to work themselves to the bone (as if they arent cranking out new events every week already . seriously, the whole dev team deserves a 6 month paid vacation for doing all of this and still managing to keep a consistent work quality)

but hey , that just means you can draw timeskip designs yourself. nothings stopping you. (i was thinking of doing this myself too actually, but i had to stop myself cuz i havent even finished my cats yet....)

The thing I noticed about the new unit is that they’ve revealed six people, given they’re probably not gonna change the whole ass formula for one team and arnebs job is to stick out im really hoping he’s joining the old man squad with J and A which would not only make me happy because more of him would mean more of them but because he looks way too young. Would bullied by 4piece for being an old man and made fun of by jun and akiomi for being a kid

my best guess on what part hes gonna play in the story is that hes gonna try and take over anzus territory and take her place as The Producer of es, and the plot of this arc is gonna be about anzu defending her place as the goddess of victory. and 4piece is a unit he formed to help with that, like how eichi and ibara formed alkaloid and crazyb. im callin it right now 4piece is a clown and his 5 jesters
