Umm Mama, I need advice I’ve struggled with this forever. So I’ve always been self conscious and never learned to love myself, and eventually I’d like to try dating again, but I’m scared because my emotionally abusive ex boyfriend traumatized me to the point where dating absolutely terrifies me. I need help with self love.

You can’t love something if you don’t care about it. So lets start there!

Self care is one of the most valuable things you can do for yourself. It makes you more presentable and putting that time into yourself will allow you to become closer with your beautiful self. A good relationship with yourself is the most important relationship you will ever have.

Why not start by running a bath for yourself?

Pouring yourself a glass of wine

Treating yourself to something delicious

Make yourself something fresh and clean 

Indulge in body wash and bath bombs 

Moisturize

Put on lipstick 

Brush your hair
