I did laundry I’ve been putting off. I packed my food stuff for my trip. Almost finished packing clothes. Still need to do a couple more things before I can leave but was putting off packing.

I have been DYING to share one of my finishes but I needed to gift it first. Backstory: my eldest daughter raises peacocks. Purple peacocks to be exact. She had a milestone birthday recently but I was out of the state so didn’t get to celebrate with her. Today we went out for lunch, visited Wild Bins and hit up Meijer. I was finally able to give her the quilt I had finished for her big birthday!!

The background is kind of shimmery. I had it quilted with peacock feathers to match the feathers in the fabric.

I think my absolute favorite part though, is the back. I found. The PERFECT fabric for the backing. I did have to pattern match it but you can not tell! Here is the back

I’m pretty sure she loves it. Probably not as much as I love her though 🥰

Finished this table runner today. Finny approved. Check out the cool 2 side binding! I bought the panel and the binding fabric at Creative Passions quilt shop. My friend Liz long armed the amazing ghosts on it.

Messaging people for the first time is so hard. What am I supposed to say? Like, "You seem really odd and your blog intrigues me. Do you want to have philosophical conversations or perhaps talk about fictional characters?" What! Whatever. I will just follow you back and stare at your blog with my big beautiful brown eyes.

Last night I decided to stitch up a Halloween dress for my granddaughter. The initials came from ETSY by Stitchin With Samantha. It was an easy make. The most difficult part was threading 6 strands of floss through my needle!

My daughter chose the colors and I love how it turned out!

A departure from my usual content, but a parenting win to share.

My teenager goes to a school that requires parent transport, and the after-school ride home can be tough on us on hard days. So today I came prepared.

I tend to talk too much, and ask a lot of questions. I'm not great at reading the room and knowing when to be quiet. I wanted to give him a simple way to let me know when he needs a brain break.

Can I show you baby's first quilting project?? I'm making coasters!

I am painfully aware the binding is...the way it is, I got frustrated and wanted it to be done more than I wanted it to be done right, but I think I understand better now how the binding works so my next coaster will be better! I just really wanted to show somebody because I'm really proud of it. One step closer to being able to make an actual quilt!

Good on you! I would say you don’t even need to bind them tho. Layer the three pieces and stitch around them leaving an opening to turn. Once you turn and push the corners out press the open edges under. Top stitch all the way around and if you want to quilt it like you did this one then quilt it. Binding small things is difficult. Great first effort though!!!!!! Proud of you 🩷

I had worked on an Ocean Waves quilt for a very long time. I had all the blocks made but not put together. I cut into my coveted Neptune fabric for some of the blocks 😱. It was a lot of work but it turned out SO GOOD!!! Now I need to settle on a backing. It’s BIG! 96” x 96”. Stay tuned to see it finished!!

Spent the weekend at quilting retreat with my friends for my birthday! Lemon Bundt cake and made from scratch sour cherry pie! Lots of laughter, lots of sewing. I got two quilts bound but can’t show one of them. It’s a gift!

I made an All The Things Tote. I just love it!!
