I think peer revisions are really important no matter how tedious they may feel. It was really great seeing how far we have all come in our writing processes throughout the class.
Original Content (3/3) - Week 15
What are you most proud of with your writing process?
One thing I am most proud of with my writing process is that I now have a general idea of web writing. When it came to my writing process, I mainly used the same tactics that helped me in any writing course throughout my years. When I needed something reviewed by another pair of eyes, I would usually turn to Tumblr because one of our Original Content posts was about peer review. That was honestly really helpful, especially for an online class where I rarely see or know anyone from this class. It was also nice to see other peers’ writing processes and see if any worked for me or if I could potentially add to mine!

That is a really interesting way to look at the assignment! Professional like a job interview but also personable because it is social media.
Where will you adjust your Content Learning Reflection to strengthen your point?
If at all possible, I would to be able to point towards direct examples in order to support my claims. I don’t know if this is the intended purpose of the Content Learning Reflection, but I'm thinking about this assignment as though I’m in a job interview and something that I have learned in the few job interviews that I’ve had is that when you answer a question a specific example is more preferable to a vague one.

I completely agree. There is so much complexity with web writing that I really enjoyed learning about!
Original Content (2/3) - Week 15
What do you like most about your learning?
What I liked about learning in this class was the different aspects that go into web writing. As I said in a previous post, I struggled with certain things at the very beginning of this class since all of this was new to me. As the class progressed, I started to understand more and more. Now that we are in our last week of classes, I can say that my knowledge has expanded a lot and the class was very enjoyable! The projects were really fun because most didn’t have to be in essay form so I could format them differently.

Week 15 Original
What are you most proud of with your writing process?
I am most proud of my confidence in what I write. I feel like I have a newfound purpose and idea of what I am writing when I go into each new project and post. This has helped me throughout my writing process in building my skills and understanding not only how I write, but why! I have a newfound understanding for my audiences, purposes, and overall platform structure. These are the things that I am most proud of!

Week 15 Original
What do you like most about your learning?
As an avid social media user, I like that I am always learning something new from each platform. This includes how to write on these platforms as well. For example, I didn’t know much about Tumblr going into the class, but I had to learn how to post and write on it. Even now, I like that I can still learn more about how to write and create content as the platforms change and grow. This means my web writing skills will also change and grow!

What do you like the most about your CL Reflection?
I have really liked being able to reflect on content learning in my final project for this class. I feel like I am summarizing and seeing how far I have come in web writing and understanding content creation. Question 1 asks us to reflect on communication and how I have adapted to it in my writing and in a digital setting. I liked this part the most as I was able to see how far I’ve come and what I’ve learned about online communication.

Week 15 Thurs Check In
What questions about writing skill development do you have?
My one question about writing skill development includes the structure. Because social media and web writing rules are always changing, is there ever certain structure or form that writers must develop to use their skills? I still feel like I have gained the basic knowledge of what it means to write on a platform, but there is always more to do in order to strengthen my skills! @npfannen

ICARLY! Say no more, I was devastated and know exactly how it felt!
Original Content Writing Week 14 (1)
Share an example of your experience as a fan of a show that was cancelled.
The moment that stands out in my life that I was most let down by a show getting cancelled was in elementary school when Icarly got cancelled. That show was my life, I had an Icarly backpack, toys, games, clothes, and so many other things. My friends loved the show too and we would talk about it all the time at school. I also remember new episodes would be on one day during the week and that night was always so hype. Then I cried when I found out it was ending and I couldn't breathe during the final episode because I was sobbing so much.

How great that you've never had to experience it! Cancelling some of my favorite shows has happened MANY times to me and it is so sad and disheartening. I become a part of these fandoms and end up sad once the shows are over!
Original Content Writing #1 - Week 14
Share an example of your experience as a fan of a show that was cancelled. Help us feel the feels.
I don't watch shows that are currently airing or shows that have been cancelled. So, I have no experience as a fan of a show that was cancelled. There have definitely been times where I've been a fan of a show that ended after a few seasons, but that was mostly because it wasn't renewed for another season.
Overall, I don't have the experience required for this post. If I do have the experience, it's not coming to mind immediately.

Overall, I think it does a great job stating the task at hand and announcing the sadness and mixed emotions of the show's cancellation. When it comes to social media, making the post short, clear, and concise is definitely what you want to aim for!
This is my cancellation post. Does it sound like we are sad that we are canceling the show, Let's all come together at this time of sadness to share some of our favorite moments from the show? or does it sound cheesy in a way that I should rewrite it?

Week 14 Original
Share a section of your Design Project content. What is the work of this sample? How can we help you revise?
Because the structure of the design project isn't an essay, I let my content and design do most of the showing. I was wondering in the times that I do further explain my choices, such as the discourse community and how it connects to the overall project, is my explanation clear?

Week 14 Original
Share an example of your favorite television show or movie - how does that show/movie help you work through this project and understand angry fandom?
One of my favorite comfort shows as I had previously talked about was Shadowhunters. It was such a good teen show that got me through middle school and high school. The books and the stories I loved at such a young age. After 3 whole seasons and 80 episodes, the production studio announced the show was not picked up for a new season and would not be back! I channeled how I felt in high school to how these angry fans felt for the 'fake' cancelled show. I understood how sad and angry viewers of a show and in a fandom felt!

Week 14 Original

Share an example of your experience as a fan of a show that was cancelled. help us feel the feels.
My ALL TIME favorite show since middle school was Shadowhunters. Based on a multiple book series, I was obsessed with the fictional fantasy world. There was romance, magic, plotwists. I loved it. I remember after the release of season 3, the cast and crew had announced that Freeform cancelled it. I also cried! I could not believe this amazing show that became a comfort for me was not picked up for a new season! I still rewatch the show to this day and get disappointed.

Week 14 Thurs Check In
We are nearing the end of the semester, what questions do you have about naming and transferring the writing skills you developed in this class to real world, real life, work situations?
When it comes to real life situations, I always think about my career aspect. I feel that I have been learning a lot about web writing and how to work with social media! As someone who wants to be a future publisher or marketer, I know social media can be very important in a job now these days. What skills would you consider to be really important to have in social media for a career in the field? @npfannen

I also love being able to enjoy podcasts. It is a nice opposition from music, when I put it in the background. It helps calm my mind and certain creators make podcasts for certain reasons. Which I will listen to depending on my moods.
Original Content
explain the appeal of long podcasts (20+ minutes), why do audiences listen? How do the creators make choices to engage the audience?
For me I think the appeal of long podcasts is being able to enjoy listening to something in the background while doing other things. Personally, I hate complete silence, so I always need to have some kind of background noise. Long podcasts normally provide an entertaining dialogue in the background for me to listen to and enjoy. I think creators normally try to add fun prompts or changes of tone within podcasts as a way to keep the audience engaged, I don't think many people would enjoy a podcast that has a consistent monotone level, and creators typically keep this in mind.

I love podcasts! They are more convenient as you said, for car rides and multitasking on your screen. Sometimes I put it in the background of work I need to get done. Overall, it sparks a conversation and definitely has a wide range of interesting topics.
Original Content Writing
explain the appeal of long podcasts (20+ minutes), why do audiences listen? How do the creators make choices to engage the audience?
When listening to a long podcast, the main appeal would be topic that are being talked about. Depending on your interest, you can just listen to them while you’re at work or driving a car without getting distracted watching a screen. These creators make the active choice of choosing topic they are interested in that maybe the audience might be interested in because it kind of like listening into another person’s conversation.
