TGCF au where Hua Cheng and Xie Lian meet again before his third ascension, and go through other stuff and eventually get married.

Xie Lian still ascends

And doesn't tell anyone he's married.

But this guy in red keeps popping up, and everyone is certain its Hua Cheng.

Until finally someone asks if he knows who that man is, and Xie Lian responds "Of course. That's San Lang, my husband."

All the adventures and trials Xie Lian and Hua Cheng go on together are great and all, but I really love all the domestic stuff they do together too.

Hua Cheng is a ghost king, but when he comes to Puqi Shrine he just instantly starts doing repairs, sweeping, building a door, doing dishes, etc.

Can't decide which is funnier:

Xie Lian trying to report Ling Wen stealing the Brocade Immortal TO Ling Wen.

Ling Wen actually taking the time to respond.

Absolutely adore the friendship between Xie Lian and Shi Qingxuan because, while they have wildly different personalities, they are both genuinely kind, and good, people. Which makes it all the more frustrating how much they both suffer.
