That's so interesting because Im the opposite. That movie kicked off my obsession with Daniel so strongly I can't imagine starting any other way.

Everyone saying start with the movie, I love you but you are so much stronger than I am. If I had seen the movie first, I would've turned it off, gone 'that was a fine 90 minutes', and never thought about Stargate ever again

I was watching this scene from Heroes part 2 for fic reference and I decided to gif it and subject everyone else to it as well. Sorry for the bad quality, but I wanted to be able to see Daniel sitting in the dark.

Oh the inherent eroticism of lifting someone's chin by knifepoint. The way the blade tip depresses the soft skin beneath the jaw juuust so but doesn't draw blood. Yet.

The fundamental part of SG 1 is that the two main characters, Jack and Daniel would otherwise hate each other, but due to circumstances are ride or die.

So there's a permanent push-pull between them as they rarely agree on how to approach literally anything.

Then you add in Samantha and get the requited, but forbidden love between her and Jack which creates another version of that tension.

And then you have Teal'c, who has to watch these people with a straight face and hope their interpersonal issues won't stop them saving his race.
