LOOKING UP OF HENRI DAUMAN

Recently, Samuel Goldwyn Films became the production company that will distribute Looking Up on the life of Henri Dauman. This film was shot in part during the Manhattan Darkroom exhibitions. LA SERIE LOOKING UP D’HENRI DAUMAN

Récemment, Samuel Goldwyn Films est devenue la société de production qui distribuera le film "Looking Up", sur la vie d’Henri Dauman. Ce film a été tourné en partie lors des expositions Manhattan Darkroom. Le titre fait référence à une série de photographies prise par Henri Dauman sur la ville de New York. Le jeune photographe est fasciné devant la puissance et l'élégance architecturale urbaine de Manhattan. Tout au long de sa carrière, il ne cessera de portraiturer la seule ville qui compte : New York. « Looking up », c'est en regardant vers le haut qu'Henri Dauman développe une série d'images sur l'architecture américaine, série récemment acquise par le  the Museum of Modern Art de New York. Comme un petit français convoitant un avenir doré, il scrute les cieux, encadré par d'imposants gratte-ciels dont la grandeur l'effraie autant qu'elle le fascine.

Selma : How Long, Not Long Si cette photographie d’ @henridauman ne faisait pas référence à une tragédie sociale et humaine, nous pourrions penser que cette image est une publicité pour @benetton . Elle a été prise à Washington lors des protestations après le drame de Selma, marches qui ont marqué les luttes pour les droits civiques et le droit de vote des afro-américains.. Le "Bloody Sunday" du 7 mars 1965 regroupe 600 manifestants qui quittent Selma pour tenter de rejoindre Montgomery. Ils espèrent présenter leurs doléances. Ils sont arrêtés au pont Pettus par la police et une foule hostile qui les repoussent violemment. Peter Kenneth Jones' film about the life and career of the photographer who captured the 20th century's most iconic images is set for a 2020 North American release. @goldwynfilms Samuel Goldwyn Films will distribute the film "Henri Dauman Looking Up" which was shot at the exhibition @manhattandarkroom at the Palais d'Iéna in Paris and the @museenicephoreniepce of Chalon sur Saone, with the Interviews, in particular, of Vincent Montana (Exhibition producer), François Cheval and Audrey Hoareau (Curators) and of course the young and dashing Henri Dauman.

Henri Dauman is an astonishing discovery with a photographic background of over a million unpublished photographs. We hope it will be the way to the Oscars @theacademy !
