I really need to work on not getting annoyed when rec lists and reviewers cite completely the wrong games as influences when discussing this or that indie retro title – half of them can't even correctly identify which console generation a given title is name-checking, so expecting them to get specific influences right is just a recipe for ruining my digestion.
