I bought a cheap light box and thought I’d test it on my huntsman’s 💚 they’re not the best shots but it was a nice taking out the Old Man and the Sydney Huntsman.

Giant Banded Huntsman 🤎 “Old man” I’ve had him for ages now :)

And my grumpy Sydney grey huntsman 💛

I love my boys, they’re very handsome critters despite their angry dances!

I got her last year in December, it’s been a privilege having the chance to watch her grow like this 💛

My Robust Curtain Web spider, Stranger! 💚 she’s a cutie, unfortunately I don’t hold her how I do occasionally with my other spider. Cethegus robustus reminds me too much of the Sydney funnel web(Atrax robustus) to feel comfortable touching her with my hands. Although they are(Cethegus robustus) not considered deadly to humans how A. robustus are, the C. robustus venom hasn’t been studied to that extent

Yes, it is 3am here but I forgot to upload this little beauty earlier 💛 he was such a sweetie, found him on my door this morning and I admired him a bit before going into the garden. Little did I know I accidentally left my door ajar and he wandered right in

So I gently scooped him up, gave him a little spritz of water and a little cricket snack to munch on for a bit before I then released him and snapped this photo as he hid in one of my dead plants. He was a gorgeous little experience :)

Random fact: Although jumping spiders can't move their eyes, they can move their retinas to change their field of view. It's as if they're looking through a window.

If the spider is clear enough, you can even see the retinas moving through the cephalothorax:
