people: tarantulas are so scary how can you keep them as pets, aren't you worried they'll attack you?

my tarantula, who's been sitting in a stress pose for 6 hours because I filled her water bowl and it scared her:

Finished up setting up instancing for the ants! On top of that, set up the walk cycles for some of the humans in the first scene that calls for them, so I know for a fact that they'll work.

Finally, started on actually blocking in the first scene! Rose's body blocking is done, so now I just need to use my fancy new set-up to actually go in and manually draw her eye shapes! (EDIT: That's done now!) After that, time to do the same for Sophodra.

Here is Rose looking down a very long drop. As you can see, the background here isn't quite done yet.

Last week saw a continued pile-up of health issues, culminating in a trip to the ER. So. Some days lost there.

Over the weekend, I'll finish up what I can on blocking Rose and Sophodra. Fortunately, so much of this has been walk cycles that I might be able to finish both this, and blocking on a few human scenes next week! After that, should only need 3-4 more weeks to finish blocking. Then, 2-3 more weeks to finish up backgrounds. Finally, a month or so of finishing animation. With the way my health is right now, I'm not going to make any promises on a release date at this point, but I'll keep plugging along. Until next time!
