Delighted to welcome @mapurl to this year's fair! Mapurl is an artist based in the Bay Area who wants to make comics people will enjoy. Her interests include horror, clowns and occasionally horror clowns. Unfortunately, she will be attempting to run a marathon five days before the fair deadline. ShortBox Comics Fair is an innovative all-digital, online comics fair that takes place annually every October, with over 150+ participating artists from around the world each debuting an all-new, original comic!

Some people asked about this before so I'm opening preorders for printed copy of the Jayvik comic I posted last month! I also made a couple of other pieces of Jayvik merch that are available for preorder as well. My storefront can be be found here: shop.mapurlsyrup.com

hiii!!! i wanted to ask if you’d ever consider consider selling copies of your jayvik ending up somewhere else comic? i would be overjoyed have a physical copy of it and would buy it in a heartbeat, if you decided that you wanted to sell it!!!
either way, i feel crazy lucky to be able to look at such a beautiful work of art! thank you so much for putting so much time and effort into it and sharing it!!! <33
Thank you so much! I am actually planning on putting up preorders for it sometime in the near future (trying to draw some other stuff for an Arcane merch drop) :)

I love that you make the split sides of Machine Herold Vik's face expressive too. It adds another layer tragedy/body horror which is 110% my jam! :D
Hehe... thank you! Viktor is a pretty expressive guy, after all and it would be a little boring to draw a comic where he just has the same face all the time.

(REPLOADING BECAUSE I MISSED A PAGE OOPS)
Blacked out and drew a 20 page comic in which Jayce and Viktor end up Somewhere Else but Viktor is still (seemingly??) trapped in his Arcane Herald form
(I'm calling it a comic but actually its more like the beginning of a comic and the end of a comic and some sketched out bits for the middle)
(Please use the power of imagination to fill in the blanks of the epic highs and lows of wandering through the wilderness slowly coming to the realization that the guy you're with is lying through his teeth, for some reason)

Hiiii Mapurl!!! Big big fan of yours!!! I saw your jayvik comic on another platform and raced over here to reblog and scream in the tags a bit. I did notice though, I think a page might be missing from your upload here? The page where Jayce trips and Viktor breaks character /very/ fast lol. Of course if that was purposeful you can just ignore this!!! Hope you’re doing well, thanks for creating and sharing!!!!
SHOOT it is missing the page whoops 😅 I might reupload the comic when I get home then, thanks for letting me know

This may be a dumb question but what website/program do you use to code? I have an idea for a game but i have zero clue where to start coding and since i enjoyed your it fangane I thought huh why not ask this fella
If you're asking what a good place to start making games is: I recommend downloading and learning the unity game engine, which is what I used. Mouthwashing was also made using this! Unity has a lot of really comprehensive beginner tutorials to help you start learning, and you can get away with a surprising amount without having to write any code. Otherwise godot is an open source alternative (and I've also heard good things about rpgmaker for non programmers).
If you're asking how to learn programming in general, thats a little trickier. There are definitely a never ending sea of resources (both free and paid) online, but I can't give any personal input on any of them.

Holy shit, Restart/Exit is so good!! Is it OK if I print it out to keep with me?
If you're only making one copy, honestly go for it! The pages should fit nicely on a standard letter sized piece of paper folded in half. I'll also probably be selling printed copies through my storefront sometime in the future :)
