Ah, broken is the golden bowl! the spirit flown forever! Let the bell toll!- a saintly soul floats on the Stygian river; And, Guy de Vere, hast thou no tear?- weep now or nevermore! See! on yon drear and rigid bier low lies thy love, Lenore! Come! let the burial rite be read- the funeral song be sung!- An anthem for the queenliest dead that ever died so young- A dirge for her the doubly dead in that she died so young. ##vampire #gothic #creepy #aesthetic #darkaesthetic #victorian #victorianera #witch #witchcraft #lenore #lenorelittledeadgirl #edgarallanpoe #art #darkart #gothicart https://www.instagram.com/p/B5S3PZmKh3R/?igshid=efo5cq7ez3w7

Headless portrait.
The genre of photography that existed in Great Britain in the second half of the 19th and early 20th centuries.
The pioneer of "headless portraits" was the Englishman Oscar Gustav Reilander. He got the idea to repeat the story about the head of John the Baptist on a dish.
The effect was achieved by combining negatives.
Headless photographs are associated with the well-known falsification - the so-called “Photography of the Buckley family”. According to an established urban legend, neighboring children decided to make stuffed people for Halloween in 1890. Susan and John Buckley decided to surpass them and instead of working on a scarecrow, they killed their own mother. They themselves disappeared, but there was a picture allegedly taken by a child who came for candy to Buckley’s house. Mrs. Buckley’s body was found later; it was half eaten. It was found that the photograph has nothing to do with a specific crime, it is a typical “headless portrait”, but done in our time (2006), the author of the installation even published an original positive, where the children are presented without an ax, and Miss Buckley with her head on shoulders. The montage was called “Killing a Mother in the Midwest” and was created by Eddie Allen for “Haunted Memories Changing Portraits”. He took an old family photo of two teenagers and their mother and mounted a “photo document” in the style of an American multi-figured version of a Victorian headless portrait.

I have never seen him so close. In the dim light, his eyes shone unnaturally on his white face. Anticipating my intention to move, he put his fingers to my lips and said: 《Do not move. I'm going to suck your blood to the last drop and I want you to lie quietly, so quietly so that you can hear your blood flowing into me. Only by the power of will and reason you must maintain life in yourself》.
