Marco: Yes there was gunfire and we are still trying to figure things out.

Gen wasn’t one for these big parties, but she knew Marco was–and even if he wasn’t, his job didn’t give him much choice. So if she had to endure one of these, at least she could do it with him. When he came back, Gen practically sighed in relief at seeing the drinks in his hand, but as she reached for one he pulled it away from her, practically making her pout– until she heard his offer. Raising a brow at him, she leaned into his space, “You give me way too much credit if you think I care what anyone here thinks.” she murmured, keeping her eyes up on him as she took both glasses away from him to put them down before she reached up to cup his face. Gen tugged him down while she leaned up on her tiptoes, meeting him halfway in a deep, slow kiss, her fingers sliding back into his hair and twisting a bit into the strands in a way she knew he liked.

Gen did exactly what he wanted and he knew she would, because that was the kind of woman he was...and he loved that. She reached over and kissed him deeply and he quickly reciprocated her kiss. He pulled her closer to him and kissed her deeply. Once they pulled apart, he looked at her with a huge smile on his face. “You definitely held up your end of the bargain and I really want to take you out of here...but since I have to work as well, that is going to have to wait to later.” He winked at her and grabbed their drinks and handed it to her. “So are you having fun? I mean I know this is not your thing, but I appreciate you coming with me.” He smiled again and wrapped his arm around her waist.

Marco was coming back from the makeshift bar with a drink for him and Gen. He smiled as he approached her, she still took his breath away. He walked up and pretended he was going to give her the drink then pulled it back, “Wait, I can’t give you this until two things happen.” He smiled and moved closer. “First I have to tell you again how beautiful you look tonight.” She was stunning and he knew he was so lucky to have her in his life. “And two, you have to give me a kiss. Marco was having a good time at the event with Gen. They were standing together as the Heads were all gathering at the in the front and he wrapped his arm around Gen. “Tonight is a great night. Adelaide did an amazing job.” He smiled and looked back to the front. He was there with dual jobs, but that was always the case. Suddenly things went from celebratory to chaos in a blink of an eye. He heard the gunshots and immediately pulled Gen to him. “Are you okay?” He quickly saw she was okay and then turned back to the stage and saw Katarin on her knees. “KAT!” He looked at Gen, “Run and go back to my house...find Rory for me please.” With that he was off and making his way to the front. He ran to the stage pushing past the crowd, not really caring who he knocked out of the way and went to her, “Are you okay? Are you hurt?” He was checking her for blood and to see if she was hit. The scene was crazy, so much security was rushing the stage to check on the Heads of the Family, “We have got to get you out of here!”

Liana let out a relieved laugh and unwrapped her granola bar, confident that she wasn’t getting in trouble. “Did you need a break from the party?” She took a bite of the bar and chewed before speaking again. “It’s good actually. Sometimes these things don’t have food at all or don’t have great food though so I packed this just in case. Now I just want to get it out of my clutch. The wrapper was making noise earlier,” she said with another laugh.

Marco chuckled at the answer from Liana, “I did, it was getting a bit stuffy in there, and I got a bit of relief from doing my job, so I wanted to get a breather.” He could understand her reasoning for bringing a snack, “You’re right about that, sometimes the food is not the best, but I think tonight’s selection is actually pretty good, especially the dessert bar.” He said with a smile. He shook his head and laughed slightly as she talked about the noise the wrapper was making. “You might want to bring a quieter snack next time, maybe orange slices.” He shrugged his shoulders.
